Surprised at all the bad reviews, but most of them are old. We moved to the Pinehills last fall and - other than the crazy expensive Market - this Stop & Shop is the most convenient. It's a Stop and Shop like any other frankly. The upside to this one, in my humble opinion, is the fact that there's a Starbucks inside it. Small things like this are important to me. Never had problems with staff members here and I typically find everything I need fairly quickly. Signage could be better, but no supermarket has awesome signage. 2 weeks In a row to come here to return bottles they charge five cents for in the store. The person comes and wants their little thingy to wand the sensor on the door for the mandatory check. Never even went in the vestibule. All of the phone machines are not working. You shouldn't charge the money if you're not actually going to be able to take the returns. It's a simple thing. THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE FLORAL DEPT. I'm getting marry in Plymouth so I reached out to see if this location does wedding service and yes they do! I was able to quickly get appointment with Nadia, I belive she is the main florist there. Our first appointment was rescheduled due to her personal reasons but she quickly called and let me know. It was kind of a bummer but was able to get another appointment at a convenient time since I'm coming from Waltham. The appointment was for Saturday at 11am. The consultation was very informal. We talked right at the floral cash register. Took about 20 mons to discuss everything. She was thorough and gave me options. She told me she would get back to me regarding quotes and breakdown of everything by Wednesday and she did. It was smooth, although it was cheaper than other florist.. it was in line with some of the florist I've consulted with so I'm a bit undecisive other than that... it's not too bad. They don't normally do deliveries but she can price it through a 3rd party for those who need it. read more

Although not all store locations are created equal this weeks Best Application of Technology in a Supermarket award goes to stop and shop Plymouth! The robot is walking around looking for obstacles on the ground and will call a staff member if there is a hazard or something needs to be picked up. You can weigh and tag your produce individually so you don't need to use a plastic bag. And of course the good old deli order kiosk. And you can pick up the scanning gun as you enter the store and scan all the prices as you shop so at the end you don't even have to go through check out read more

DELI REVIEW: A deli that serves Boar's Head has to be a cut above. This deli is NOT. Slicing ham, and slicing it thin, is an art form. These deli employees are no artists. If you can't slice a piece of black forest that's as thin as paper, then you need to find another job. When I buy Boar's Head Beechwood Smoked, I expect that to be immaculately sliced, especially when I specify it to be sliced "as thin as humanly possible." The man who sliced it offered me an initial slice that was laughably thick, I then asked him to go thinner, and there was nearly no difference. Very disappointing. AVOID. read more

Of all other vendors who were a part of our day I was most impressed by Nadia at the Plymouth S&S on Samoset Street. The flowers were a work of art and so much more elegant and beautiful then I ever imagined. I was such a pain and must have changed my mind 10 times and she was beyond understanding and accommodating. They were the exact style, color palette and contrast I wanted. We paid under $2,000 for everything -- delivery, 5 bouquets, 3 corsages, 7 boutennaire, 18 centerpieces and 2 alter pieces. Plus we filled up both cars a few times with gas for like $1.00/gallon. I've been in enough Stop & Shops around the northeast to realize it's not just the Plymouth store that's horrible. Every single time I walk out of a Stop & Shop I regret that I shopped there. (Always my fault for being hurried and not driving the extra few miles to a better store.) The truth is, most retail grocery stores have grown so huge in size and crushed the local stores that they've quickly become the great American rip-off. The poor experience you get from Stop & Shop can be found in most of the others. But I'm confident that Stop & Shop leads the way. On any given day, they rarely have enough help or cashiers to take care of the lines of customers. And the lazy teens watching me scan my own items (goodbye customer service) aren't even thinking about lending me a hand and, perhaps, bag a few items for me? At what point do they ask us to get our own groceries from the loading dock before scanning, ringing and bagging them myself? read more

Subpar shopping experience EVERY time. I can't remember the last time I shopped here and didn't end up home with something that was rancid, bad or infested. Literally, every shopping experience ends with either raspberries with mold int he middle, bad meat, rice with bugs, something. I didn't know one store could have so many problems. I now drive 30 miles to Whole Foods in Hingham to buy food that isn't gross. I reserve S&S for majorly packaged foods that don't rely on expiration dates or freshness. The store is however clean and well lit and organized. People are young and typically cussing or babbling to each other then entire time you check out, but I have come not to expect much from this store. read more

Go to Wal-Mart instead, same selections, slightly cheaper. Every single item here is the same exact item you will find elsewhere, but with a bigger price tag. If you're the kind of person who thinks that a 2-liter bottle of Coca Cola tastes better when it's $1.69 instead of $1.38 then this is the place for you. I've peeked into this grocery store from time to time, to take advantage of various sales that other grocery stores lacked. I worked here back in 2005, but that was a time ago, unfortunately, nothing has changed about the place. It's a place for a teenager to get their first job, to expect outstanding service at the register is unrealistic... but if you knew how they treated their employees, you would understand why they hate their jobs. Here, you have to pay for bags, you do not have to do this at Wal-Mart. Their sales clearly state things like "$10 for 10, must buy 10" other stores will just sell that item for $1 each. If you're between the ages of 13 and 25 you will be stalked by obvious undercover security, making your shopping experience uncomfortable. Avoid the hot bar, the place where you can fill a styrofoam box full of recently cooked foods such as barbaque chicken, buffalo chicken, rice, wings, etc... it's extremely expensive as it has to be weighed, and the last time I was there it was $8 a pound. That was the price almost ten years ago, everything has since went up without their employments wages keeping up. Conclusion, there's no point in coming here unless there's a few items for sale that you would like. read more

Terrible customer service! I've gotten pea pod pick up a few times from there and every time I'm always missing something! The last time I was there I had a 7pm pick up time. I called two hours before pick up time to see if I could pick up my order a little early, 6:30 I asked. I was very rudely told no they can't do that. No problem, I understood. I said I would come at my regular time. So I get there at 7, waiting in the pick up spot and call to let them know I was there. Her response with an attitude "Ok well, you'll have to wait a few minutes because there's people ahead of you." Ok... My husband and I looked at each other because we were the only ones in the pea pod pick up spots... I was a little ticked off with the repeated attitude I was getting so when they came out with our order I didn't even get out of the car. My husband got out and put the groceries in. When we got home I noticed we were missing multiple items. When I say multiple it was more than ten things missing. I tried looking for a receipt in the bags so I could see what they charged me for but there wasn't one. I look at my order online and some items said were out of stock and others they still said they had. So I called to figure out the mix up and so I could make sure I was charged accordingly. The young lady I had dealt with had answered and I tried explaining to her that their was no receipt and I wanted to know why I hadn't received my items that on their website they said were in stock. She (with an attitude) explained that there was a computer issue. I wanted to give her a list of the food that I did not receive so I could be refunded but she was not even interested in hearing me. At that point I had had it and said I would come in and sort it out! I had to drag all three of my kids in the store and as soon as I walked into the department I over heard the girl who I had been talking to over the phone, talking about me to another co worker! Then she looked at me not knowing it was me she was just complaining about and gave me an instant attitude. Even my husband chimed in and told her he's heard every time that I've spoken to her and that she has had a horrible attitude! After we had an exchange of words with the girl about how this is not how customer service should be we asked to deal with a manager. The manger (Amanda) was very apologetic, issued a store credit and assured us that she would speak to the girl about customer service. I felt okay after speaking with Amanda but I will not give stop and shop my money or service again. read more

I have returned bad meat 5 times, didn't bother at least 4 times. Flour had bugs. Cashiers young and talking to eachother, while slamming my food down with no concern to smooshing or breaking. Unfortunately I cannot travel far so I have to make do between Shaws and Stop and Shop Saving grace is the deli. Excellent service, Yummy choices. Always helpful. Let me begin by saying I have lived in Plymouth fof over thirty years. In Plymouth the shopping options are Stop n Shop Plymouth, manomet, Shaws, and Market Basket. I must say that with the new Market Basket in town, I am glad to have a decent place to shop. The cons: Vegetarians and those who do not enjoy pieces of meat in your sliced cheese BEWARE. In this particular deli, there are two cheese only slicers located towards the back of the deli and the slicers towards the front are for meat. On at least two ccasions I have gone to the deli at night and tried to order cheese. The workers tried to slice my cheese on the meat slicer (at least two seperate occasions). After requesting them to use the cheese slicer, I was told it had already been cleaned for the night and they didn't want to dirty the cheese slicer. I refused to accept this and left empty-handed on both occasions. I called the store and spoke with a manager who apologized. The second time this happened was after speaking to the manager so I'm guessing no disciplinary action was taken with his employees. I stopped shopping here (except to get specialty items offered in the organic section) after the second time. Terrible customer service: Nobody in the store has ever asked if I needed help or has even attempted eye contact with me. They act as if they are there to collect a paycheck, nothing more. This is completely different from the customer service at Market Basket where the employees act happy and are eager to help. It is clear which company treats their employees better. Even the managers seem angry. Cleanliness Yuck. There is constantly a tornado of trash that collects outside the door of this place. They should hire employees just to clean the parking lot. Also, my husband once caught a wild mouse running around by the entance and put it outside. This couldn't have been the only one. I have purchased several houseplants infested with fungus gnats. They burrow in the dirt and infest your house. The Parking Lot: The parking lot to this place is a madhouse. There is only one entrance/exit to the shopping center ehich houses a bank, nail salon, dentist, staples, wallpaper store, and marshalls. I would pay more for groceries and shop elsewhere just to avoid this parking lot. Save yourself time and stress and hop on over to Market Basket! read more

The supermarket business is falling more and more in most places ive been, ive never had to encounter a place where the teenagers that work their talk continuously and ignoring you when having to ask a question. I asked an easy question not long ago to a young girl that was to busy playing facebook on her phone (could see farmville) where the soups were kept. She did not even LOOK UP , she just kept looking at the device and pointed outwards, NOT even in the right direction. The food you can have a hard time not finding rot in it if your in vegetables and fruits. The worst is the cash registers, you find that the cashiers are not very pleased to see you, Its half and half if i get a hello or not, I mostly dont hear how much i have to pay at the end, sometimes i get rushed along when im trying to go threw the debit steps on their pad, but the machine is taking forever not me; with comments like" you hit the yes key, the yesss key." " I know the screen is not up yet... ". If you can get out of the store with just this your doing okay. Even worse is when the cahsiers are talking nonstop to the cashier next to them or to the bag person. I kept trying to talk to a cashiera month ago and the bag boy was hitting on the girl , i couldnt get a word in to pay for my things. If your on a time limit to buy groceries try another store, or you may just end up leaving your things at the register and leaving after all your time spent. read more

The bakery at this Stop and Shop is amazing! I have ordered special occasion sheet cakes there many times and they are always fresh and delicious with buttercream frosting- I enjoy watching people have seconds at every party. The staff takes the time to listen to your decorating ideas and hit the ball out of the park every time! Reasonable prices and great customer service - why go anywhere else. read more

Poorer food quality than previously offered. The customer service is nonexistent. Clerks have no clue what they carry, where it is nor do they appear to care. You are on your own. The customer service desk has a few great hard working clerks, yet they are routinely understaffed and the elderly or physically challenged customer waits in line forever for food related issues, while a non stop barrage of non paying people come in to collect or send western union, which apparently takes a long time to process. It's insane. Stop n shop is not a bank, they are in the food service industry. The western union customers appear to be their priority. I have waited upwards of 20 minutes and no one calls for backup. Strange place. Have never witnessed a manager pitching in when they are swamped as I have in other stop n shops. Nor does anyone ever ask if they can help you if you seem perplexed as is customary in some other supermarkets. They come across like they don't care. There is a great young thin guy in the deli who is outstanding and a couple young people in the customer service window who try hard and have been there for awhile, yet, I believe their hands are tied. Poor management in Plymouth and understaffing of customer service. Market basket is coming and closer to my house, so by by S n S. They are known for fantastic customer service!!!!! Think about it S n S. Once you lose your loyal customer base we will not be coming back. Best to fix these clitches before market basket arrives. read more
