We dealt with Emily, the manager at Blue Sky Storage. This was our first time renting a storage unit, so when we were signing the paperwork we asked her to add the insurance to the storage, she then told us she couldn't because she wasn't certified to sell it yet. She let us know that as soon as she completed her classes, she would call us to get it added. Then the unexpected happened and they had a roof leak that then caused the water to come into our indoor storage unit. Emily called us frantically to get the insurance added to our storage unit and said file a claim and everything will be covered. We had to haul our 2 kids right after school and we're there for about 6 hours trying to salvage as much as we could and having to repack since a lot of our boxes were destroyed. I had to take all my clothes, comforters, sheets, and blankets home to wash EVERYTHING since it was soaked to try and make sure it didn't get moldy. What did Emily do for us, took off $20 dollars off of our next bill for our troubles. $20 measly dollars. We have tried to get Emily to give us a corporate number or get her manager in touch with us so they can do the right thing here, and up to this day, Emily never calls back or gives us the run around. The least they could do is refund me for the 3-4 months I was there to be able to repurchase some of the stuff we lost due to their negligence. I wouldn't recommend renting here, very dishonest and don't care about their customers. All they care about is seeing that $169 is coming in for a 10x10 storage unit. When I initially called to get the charge refunded, I was assured by the assistant manager that I would be able to get a refund for the unit I did not want or ever use. Then the manager called me and informed me I would not be getting my money back but that I can still use the unit, again a unit I did not use or have any need for. I asked her to have the district manager call me in hopes to get this issue resolved. District manager was supposed to call yesterday and did not call me until this evening. He was not professional or helpful at all. I will be disputing the unauthorized charge. Don't spend your money here. Awful awful awful inconsistent customer service!
