Facts: I came to my unit November 6th to acquire winter clothing only to discover my unit had been burglarized and vandalized. The office personnel were not on the property, but I reached an individual the next day by the name of Samantha (Since terminated), who informed me that my unit was discovered without a lock on November 1st. She explained that someone had attempted to contact me [A lie- I have had no missed calls, voicemails or emails on the matter.] and promised to review the camera footage and compile the applicable paperwork for me then she would call me back. I never received that call. I returned a week later and was given keys to the replacement lock the property provided, along with the paperwork. (I've been very busy and unable to wait the now hour plus I've been waiting for an officer to be dispatched to place my report.) I returned December 4th and used that very key I was provided by the property to unlock the lock the property had provided only to discover my unit had been burglarized yet again!!! Two new office employees were available, one from a different location and one in training. They informed me that all the previous staff had been terminated, that they do not know how to access the camera footage and that they have been getting yelled at and confronted by other disgruntled renters who also have had their units broken into. While here today, speaking with yet another employee as I await an officer to submit my police report. I am being told that there have been no other reports of burglary recently at this location. Literally, as we were discussing this, another gentleman comes in and expressed his very recent experience of having his unit burglarized. Just facts....Take it for what it is worth. Awfully suspect to me. This is not the least expensive storage in the area...and most certainly not the most secure. Do your research. This property should not be one you consider.

However, they gradually increase the rent for the same unit, which is a blatant scam. They also claim that the unit's price will increase in 30 days, but a few days later, they charge the new price that was supposed to be implemented 30 days later. The company is incredibly unprofessional and unresponsive, especially the management. I've visited their office three times to address these issues, and they promise that Yolanda Pena will contact me. She never does. I've also called their number and spoken to the call center, who assures me that the property manager will contact me. Yet, she never does either. Overall, US Storage Centers is a terrible company that shows no regard for its customers, rent elsewhere.

Be aware that US Storage may increase rates at any time. My rent increased multiple times (the…read morefirst in less than a year), including one significant increase well over typical inflation (lowest increase notice was 25%, up to 59%). I was often told that local staff could not see or control these changes and that adjustments required approval from corporate. I was also billed monthly for a "Protection Plan" despite providing proof of my own insurance, and only received a partial credit after raising the issue again. In addition, a small recurring charity charge appeared on my bill that I did not knowingly opt into. When a card on file expired, my account was assessed a substantial late fee before any notice was sent, despite the company having my email and phone number for other communications. While the fee was eventually reduced, it required additional effort. They should have notified me before applying the late fee and allow me to update my new card info. I ultimately moved to a competitor and have had a much smoother experience (proactive communication, locked in rates for a duration, etc.). I recommend closely reviewing your monthly statements and being prepared for rate increases well above anything inflationary or covid related. I'd rather they simply post higher rates up front vs what felt like bait and switch. It was exhausting working with this company. The on-site staff I interacted with were polite and professional, though decisions appeared to come from corporate.
