I rented a U haul and auto transport from you over a month ago. Today, upon pick-up. No one had a…read more15 foot uhaul available. So after wasting 4 hours, I finally DEMANDED a truck and was given a 26 foot one ( which is not what i wanted). Nevertheless..I get the u-haul truck. I went to the above noted location to pick up the auto transport, and the woman behind the front desk (DAWN LEGER) REFUSED to assist us with getting the car on the trailer. She says " OH I ain't certified, you figure it out!!!" and that horrible woman walked away leaving us stranded with no help???? How are we supposed to know how to hook up the trailer and get the car on there without killing everyone on the road? Is this the type of people you employ? hateful, mean arrogant, rude women? I have never been treated as horribly as U Haul has treated me. I am beyond words. Now I had to call the other U-haul location where a decent human is going to help us. Worst communication and didnt follow through on information and promised times to deliver. They don't communicate with their 3rd party delivery company and didn't provide all the information necessary for delivery. My daughter went to college here and I have been paying for the storage for a full year. Called 1 week before I was scheduled to come to NOLA and was told that I needed 2 BUSINESS DAYS to schedule a delivery although my initial paperwork says 2 days ( regular, I presume). They have dropped the ball on every twist and turn. They are NOT a regular company, they are a 3rd party scheduler. They don't own the storage facility or the delivery company. The hold times to talk to someone can reach up to 30-40 mins at a time. I was leaving to for vacation ( out of the country) from New Orleans and needs to make sure all was set BEFORE I left. I was assured it was all set and lo and behold after I arrived in Mexico, I received an email stating that the delivery could be done and that I would have to wait until MONDAY!!! Problem is I was leaving on Saturday, which I stressed on many, many occasions. I had to send an email to Closetbox to transfer the receivership to another friend who was to receive my items. Day of delivery: NO SHOW!!! The 3rd party delivery company was never given my transfer of receivership or the contact phone number of the new person to confirm delivery and so the company called me and of course being in Mexico, I didn't answer so they didn't deliver. Day that I came back, expecting a delivery the day before, no dice! Couldn't get delivery on the day I came back because the storage facility is CLOSED ON SATURDAYS! Who the hell closes a storage facility on the weekend?? ...,The most popular day to move stuff??? With the amount of money I have paid monthly $60/month for an entire year! ($720) I expect better customer service. Very, very disappointed! UPDATE: The items were delivered on Monday with no notice to my friend. Every item in the storage was molded and wet and rendered unusable. The TV was broken and waterlogged. They obviously had a flood, and failed to tell me. I'm so upset right now.

I had a very disappointing experience with Mayflower Armstrong (Baton Rouge) and their New Orleans…read morepartner Crescent City Moving. I paid about $10,000 for a full-service move and expected the professional standards associated with the Mayflower name. Unfortunately, many of the basic standards were not followed. There was no digital inventory and no parts box, and the inventory was handwritten on old United forms that were largely unreadable. As a result, hardware was lost and my bed and sofa could not be assembled upon delivery, despite the fact that I paid for furniture disassembly and reassembly. Packing quality was extremely poor. My metal bed (less than a year old) was not wrapped and was damaged in my building, and Eric (the Packing Crew leader) added a note on the inventory claiming the damage was pre-existing without telling me. This is horribly dishonest! Approximately 50% of my artwork was also damaged due to improper packing, even though I clearly explained that I am a professional artist and the work was important to my livelihood. I was available for packing guidance on these fragile items but they assured me they knew what to do. Clearly, this was not true. The packers in New Orleans ( Eric, Josh and Mike) also used my own belongings such as towels, sheets, and fabric, as packing material instead of using packing paper, and boxes were not organized by room or by item type. Lamp parts were scattered across multiple boxes, TV remotes were not packed with televisions, and my Dyson vacuum was packed in a paper bag, which resulted in damage. I left all my bedding to be packed together for move in night and they again scattered it into multiple boxes, used as packing paper for things such as a garbage can. My belongings were also placed into storage without my knowledge instead of going directly to the shuttle as planned, which caused additional damage to several bookcases. I have in writing, from Holly Hutchinson, a guarantee that ALL these things would not happen. My move coordinator, Dawn Porter, was horrified at this job performance and very empathetic, but ultimately no one was held accountable or resolved these serious matters. The delivery crew in Los Angeles was excellent, but the coordination through Baton Rouge and the Crescent City Moving team in New Orleans was extremely poor. I completed the company survey and gave the New Orleans operation the lowest possible ratings, yet no one ever contacted me to follow up. For a $10,000 move with a major national company, this experience was unacceptable. I strongly encourage anyone considering this branch to do very careful research before booking. I had a great experience moving with Mayflower/ Armstrong from Pittsburgh several years earlier. This comes down to Mayflower/Armstrong partnering with a dishonest, sub par branch that can not meet modern day standards and practices.
