They evaluated the number of items to be moved and the road, and then determined the possible moving options, explaining them carefully, so we wouldn't be surprised if they needed to switch strategies midway depending on the road situation. Everything went wonderfully, even though they moved us in while it was snowing. They wrapped all of the items carefully, and placed neoprene walk mats on the floors to avoid causing any damage. You inform this company you are disabled and have one arm in a sling from surgery on a torn rotator cuff. The appointment was set for a certain time on a certain date. You remind them that you can not lift a thing and that you had surgery 3 weeks prior on a torn rotator cuff. They reassured that they would be there. The next morning, you arrive 20 minutes early to the new home. Wait...wait...wait more. 5 minutes after the show time, you call. It immediately goes to voicemail. You wait 10 minutes and call again...voicemail. ok this might happen. You wait 10 more minutes and call again...VOICEMAIL AGAIN. This goes on for 2-3 more times....voicemail. Now, you realize they are avoiding you. They let down a handicapped client! REALLY! So, now I call other local moving companies to get a last minute hire, and they want up to 4x standard rates. I really can't afford that. So, I took off my sling and joined in with my helper. We got the job don, but it took us twice as long to get the job done. Some of the other places were dingy and didn't feel safe for me or my stuff. At DPSS I felt welcome and at ease immediately and they had the perfect size unit at a great price (especially compared to western Washington!). The property is gated so everyone must have a code and there are lots of security cameras around; I never worried about my belongings or being there alone. In the winter, they plow daily so it was always easy to access my unit. They offer different sized units and RV parking. The office is staffed regular business hours with a very nice lady and they have a restroom available.

We hired Deanna to destress the situation, as my grandma tore something in her knee and couldn't help pack or move to much, besides go through her own belongings. During this process she had the help of 3 daughters, 2 husbands, a couple of friends, and a moving company, so in no way did we put the entire move no this women. Her job was to help sell the remaining items in the house and bring in Vendors to buy what they would like, and she would donate the rest of the belongings left. Deanna also committed to cleaning the house, and shipping out items to one of her daughters. When I showed up to help on Monday, 5 days before she closed the house and everything in it needed to be perfect, Deanna was on a personal phone call (one hour, on our dime) after making her cry about how there's no time, she needed to be doing things faster, and how the place was a mess. It was bare bones, it really could have been finished that day. she hid when I came in with one other helper. I heard her on the phone asking the real estate agent if he had someone to clean the place, he said no. After that she walked out to the living room and asked if we had cleaning supplies or a vacuum she could use (it's all at her new place). She was frustrated and said someone would clean the house tonight. One of the daughters stopped by the house that night, she left every light in the house on, the doors are all unlocked, and THE OVEN ON 500 DEGREES CLEANING MODE!!!! She also had a bum knee, she couldn't even go downstairs to help price items for sale or clean she didn't even see half of the house, every time she was there she was on the phone or drinking my grandmas teas, or water bottles, sitting on a chair 80% of the time. She never would answer phone calls the last week, she would return them in her own time, she couldn't give us a game plan for when things would be done. The next morning she had another older women there cleaning up the rest, she was nice, but kept telling me they were so busy and didn't think they could donate the couch downstairs because it was a pullout bed and we would have to pay someone to move it (but that was in the agreement). They waited till 2 days before the close date to tell us this, and the couch wasn't even a pullout, they didn't check.. The items she was supposed to ship to someone, she tried pawning off on me, she wanted us to drive all the stuff from Spokane to Tacoma 5 hour drive. So get this the whole situation was so sketchy we asked for an itemized receipt with the bill. She delivers the bill with no itemized receipt, it gets better the quote of 500-750 was out the window, it was a $3000 bill. She also said she didn't have time to sell her stuff which was a 70/30 split and she donated it all, and when we asked where "SHE FORGOT" ???? She also managed to lose boxes of my grandmas belongs, memories that we all cherish and could one day be passed on, but now they are all gone, probably in the back of the storage unit with the "donated" items. I had to take photos of stuff downstairs for my grandma so she could see what's left because Deanna couldn't tell her. When my grandma tried to discuss the bill, she walked off and said "no we are done" . Beware she doesn't help, she destroys.

I am sorry that my mom had to go through what you put her through. So I would NEVER recommend this woman. She made an already difficult situation 10 times worse!

05/15/2021 Update: We used them again! The team of Frank (he was the foreman for our earlier move…read moretoo--see below), Carlos, Freddy, Elijah H., Eli, and Dylan were absolutely amazing. They were extremely careful with both homes, wrapping the door frames with padding and rolling out protective mats so as not to damage the floors while walking back and forth. We had a pretty complicated move in my opinion. We were moving out of my mothers house into our own house, while subsequently moving my mother's furniture which we had put in a storage unit back into her house. Speedy provided 2 trucks, two of the guys came all the way from tri-cities! Truck/Team 1 worked on emptying my storage unit with my stuff from (kitchen, bathrooms, etc from my previous home) and loading it, Truck 2 worked on emptying my moms storage unit of furniture she had removed from her home to make space for my family. Truck 1 went directly to the new house, while Truck 2 went to my mother's house, and unloaded her furniture and put it where she asked, and then loaded all our stuff and furniture. We had my mom's big (not kid proof) couches moving out of the truck back into my moms house, and my (kid proof) couches being moved into the truck as well as my husbands office, my sewing studio, kids play room, and kids bedroom. (My moms house is big and yeah it held all that stuff!) Then they took Truck 2 over to our new house as Truck 1 was being finished and Truck 1 team then began helping Truck 2 team unload the rest. It was a LOT of work for them. They were exhausted but they all had amazing attitudes and were very careful with our stuff even at the end when they were covered in sweat and it had started to get hot outside. I am one of those people that has a hard time not working and lifting when I see others doing it and they kept telling me to take it easy. I appreciated all their hard work and if we have to move again (which we may) I will hire them a third time! :) 9/8/2020: This was a great team of movers lead by Frank for a very reasonable price. They were all young, energetic, and professional. We had two move locations, storage and our new home. I was coming from California so it was unloading a SEMI truck (independent interstate trucker hired by Magellan), that unfortunately did not have a ramp or a lift gate. I did not realize the truck had none of these things, so the guys had to physically lift everything out of the truck itself instead of use dollys. It was exhausting work, but they did it with a great attitude. They lifted my husbands big MOTORCYCLE out of the back of this truck. A motorcycle. I don't know what other movers would have done that!!!! Anybody else would have gone to get a ramp and charged me hourly for it. Not them, they together lifted the motorcycle out of the truck and set it down. It was amazing. I highly recommend them and will use them for every move!
