However the second I stepped into Absolute Self Storage in Milford, NH, I knew I had found the absolute right place! The Building is very Unique, and having the option of heated versus non heated units was definitely a necessity. As well as knowing that everything was very secure and under surveillance made my decision an easy one. Not to mention the Super cool old fashion freight elevator with it's iron grates. (add's a kinda James Bond character feeling to the place) :) Not to mention the owner Chris is such a kind man to work with. If you are ever in need of a place to store your belongings, I would Absolutely give them a call. I stored my things here for 6 years and I would do it in a heartbeat if I had to again.

Prime bought Why Storage around Oct of 22 and the change has not been good…read more The new company raised rental fees and is also imposing an additional insurance fee on renters who fail to read the new contracts that were emailed in October. I personally visited the location twice to hand deliver proof of insurance docs and was still charged via automatic payment on Nov and December. Have spoken to the manager and GM on two different occasions with assurances that this would be corrected but still being charged. Have complained to BBB in NY, (since the new owners' HQ is in Saratoga Springs NY), and also contacting NH State AG office because I believe the new owners are intentionally stacking their imposed insurance fees on unsuspecting or inattentive customers who pay via auto payment. Will be looking for a new place as soon as the weather improves- these people seem completely uncaring for the customer (at best) and unethical and unscrupulous (at worst)!

Prime storage apparently took over for the previous owner and quickly raised the rental prices. I…read moremoved out 20 days early on Dec 19th and spoke with the on-site manager to ensure that everything was all set. I was paid up through ~Jan 10th and there was no refund for that, not a problem. About a month later on Jan 17th they charged me an additional month rent and told me that there was a lock still on the unit. When the unit was inspected the unit had an unlocked lock on one door and no lock on the other door. Had Prime contacted me to tell me they were going to charge another $193.80 for a vacated storage space prior to the charge I could have easily removed the lock or had them remove it. These people are criminals and not to be trusted. Go ANYWHERE else. If you are already here, I would look to move as soon as possible as these people are completely unethical and unscrupulous and will pork you at first opportunity.

The original unit was completely empty, no lock, clearly vacated. I ended up being about 24 hours late in canceling before the next billing cycle, and they charged me for a full additional month anyway. What made it worse was that I received both a bill for the next month and a vacancy notice at the same time, acknowledging the unit was already empty. When I asked about a refund or even a prorated credit, I was told there was nothing they could do. Their reasoning was that they only issue credits to accounts, and since the new unit is under my girlfriend's name, they wouldn't transfer anything over. To add to the frustration, they also shut off my access code despite charging me for that extra month. It felt like policy mattered more than common sense or customer loyalty. After nearly a decade of doing business here, I expected a more reasonable and customer focused response. Also the security gate has been broken for almost a year now and they continue to lie about when its getting fixed.

After checking out other reputable storage locations around the same area of Merrimack, we settled on Synergy because of the high quality of their location, the straightforward and easy set up, and the helpful guidance from the staff. I've interacted with both the owners over multiple visits (apologies I've forgotten your names) but they were both helpful and take their business seriously. I've spoken to at least one employee of theirs as well, and she was just as helpful and very polite/friendly. The climate control meant we didn't have to worry about some valuables or delicate items in storage. The high level of security meant we never worried about anyone trying to tamper or break into our unit. And the professionalism of the business meant we never stressed getting overcharged. Definitely a storage location highly worth your consideration.
