Years ago our business had an e-commerce site built that has accomplished the very basics of selling our products online. As our business grew and scaled, however, our web site and presence became increasingly lacking. We were unable to make simple content and pricing changes to our pages and products without contacting the old development company that was never very responsive. Our old site became more of a burden to us than an asset to our business. Enter Storm Brain Designs. We contacted them and a number of other companies requesting a quote for a rebuild and design of our site. Their proposal was not the cheapest, nor was it the most expensive, but they did offer the most custom site capabilities as well as reporting and marketing features. After speaking with Michael and Blake in our final round of interviews we elected to go with them. During the whole process, they kept us in the loop, with updates about the status of the build and making sure that we stayed on track, and more importantly, within our budget. The final product blew all of our employees away. When the site went live we had them train a couple of our employees on the in's and out's of the admin side of things. Seeing that our two employees had no experience within Wordpress, the guys at Storm Brain were patient with them as they learned and became familiar with our new system. This has been a terrible 6 month ordeal and I still don't have a functioning website. Paid Michael Fisher of StormBrainDesigns $600, and it took them 2 months to show me a rough draft/beta website that did not come close to meeting my expectations. They told me it would be 2 weeks or less and it was in the contract I signed too. I sat down with Michael Fisher in April 2014, told him exactly what I required. I needed a website that would work on Iphone and Android systems and he said he could do it and would have an initial beta version in less than 2 weeks. Nearly 8 weeks later, after several unanswered emails in mid-June (June 11th, 16th, 17th), I was finally shown a beta site that looked like it had been slapped together overnight. The images overlapped each other, none of them could be zoomed into on an Iphone. The site looked different on a desktop computer and had a ton of operating errors that made it impossible to go to another gallery or go in reverse order to view the images. I could never show this website to a potential client, they would be so frustrated with operation that they would immediately close it and go somewhere else. When I informed Michael Fisher of these errors he wanted to see video of what I was seeing. When I showed him video of the problems, he didn't offer to make it right or correct it. He told me they don't make mobile compatible websites. He then proceeded to ask for the 2nd $600 payment!!! I couldn't believe what I was reading. It is now mid-October, nearly 6 months after I paid them $600 and instead of correcting the problem they want to drop the ball and take another $600 for a non-working Wordpress website. I have been calling them for the past week and nobody answers the phone, nobody replies to my messages, nobody seems to be at their office on Utah street either. Stay away from these "web designers" they'll take your hard-earned money and run! It baffles me as to how they have so many 5 star reviews when they screwed me over, couldn't deliver a simple working website after 6 months and refuse to make it right after I've told them about the errors multiple times. I wouldn't be surprised if they just fsrm out the design to third-world countries overseas. Why else would they refuse to correct the errors? read more
