Semonin Realtors is one of the oldest and most highly regarded firms in Louisville, KY. My first contact was on the phone. He was highly emotional when. I described the atmosphere in my neighborhood: People were distraught because Ghayhoumi planned to put a driveway into the property behind my house. Ray was selling the land for his brother Who was out of the state. Ghayoumi agreed to sell me the property. I gave him $1,000. When the closing date was set, Ghayoumi said I was to pay his closing costs. This was a deal breaker. I signed a termination contract. Ghayoumi refused to give me back my $1,000. At the end I was glad not to have any further Business with such a nickle and dimer.

But my wife was getting more and more excited about being a future home owner, and the past two years of renting started to bear the limitations and frustrations of not owning your own place. My wife set up a time to meet up with a realtor, and I reluctantly went not expecting to enjoy the meeting whatsoever. The semonin's location was impressive, and the staff was instantly friendly and accommodating. I worked strange hours at the time, but Dustin set up a time that worked for us. Most of his co-workers had already gone home, and we met in his office. It didn't take long for my fears to melt away. The meeting with Dustin was professional, and yet very friendly and caring. He could read we were new to it all and provided the information and assistance we needed to feel comfortable. We decided to take the plunge and start looking at houses. This is where the 5 stars comes into place, if I could give 10 stars I would. Dustin never gave the impression that we were a paycheck to him, in fact he was a friend, he was a great help to us, and he stuck it through till the end. He was always available when we needed to communicate and he fought for us to get the best deals, even if it meant deals falling through. Our first house he told us about an inspector who was fairly priced and was very much attention to detail. This inspector saved us from buying a house that looked fine, but had extensive termite damage. Dustin continued to encourage us, after our "dream house" had a terrible report from the inspection. A month later we found a better house. One that needed a roof repair. The sellers were not great at communicating and yet Dustin fought to bridge the gap, on the end we were able to get them to replace the roof with no expense to us and we now live in a home we absolutely adore. If it wasn't for Dustin we would of possibly bought the first house and would be living in a money pit. Semonin's services were so helpful. We couldn't of done it without them.

I hadn't known that a Realtor would go so far above the call of duty as Craig did. He was there for me every step of the way. He guided me through the preparation of the home I was selling, even to the point of doing some things himself that he thought would better present the home to a buyer. When it came to finding a new home for me, he was patient and always available. He walked through the potential homes with me, pointing out structural issues I may not have noticed and even offered ideas on uses of space. When I finally found the right home for me, Craig reviewed all the details I needed for understanding the contract and closing. The real estate market in Louisville is lucky to have this man. I think inexperience and not having knowledge of laws when working with a seller whom has a rental tenant was an issue. I live in Cali and asked the realtor to walk the property and give me feedback on if it was ready to go on market in it's current condition. The realtor said I could get top dollar and said aside from a deep cleaning it was good to go. He took photos of a dirty refrigerator and missed an entire upstairs. I asked about things I saw in the pictures and he had no idea. Next thing I know, they want me to make this house turn-key and constantly talked about the renter and how he was the problem. They let a lady and a child enter the home without any realtor present! Why would they allow anyone to enter the home to view and expect the renter to sell it to them. They made promise to work with renter but then just blamed him. I have owned and sold many houses over the years and I have never experienced the professionalism and personal attacks. If this house was not a house they could sell, then he should have said that after the initial walk through.
