The Casselberry Sculpture House is an artist in residence program that started in 2021. It is…read morelocated in a mid century, ranch style home located across the street from Lake Concord Park where you can find even more public art in the Casselberry Art House, Arts Center, and Sculpture Garden. On the front of the home is an eye catching mosaic mural by artist Claire Lavin. Artists can apply for a grant offered by United Arts Central Florida which allows them to live and work in the home for 3 months. I was lucky to find the Sculpture House open at night as part of the 2nd Friday Food Truck event in Lake Concord Park. There is no admission and you are to able wander the house and check out the art when it is open. The current artist has filled all of the rooms with his canvas paintings of people and nature scenes. My favorite was a print of a dragon on fabric that was hanging in the carport. I love that the City of Casselberry is doing so much to support artists. This was such a cool discovery and well worth checking out when you visit Lake Concord Park.

The Art House is located in Lake Concord Park where you can also experience for free, the Sculpture Walk, Sculpture House, and Arts Center. The 2.500 square foot Art House is part of Casselberry's plan to create a hub of cultural enrichment in Lake Concord Park. The Art House provides space for art classes, art exhibitions, educational programs, workshops, artist lectures, and musical performances. I was lucky enough to catch the Art House open during the 2nd Friday Food Truck event. They were having an exhibit of paper art by the Art House All Stars. It was a delight to visit this art exhibit and Casselberry which is a community that values and supports the arts.

The exhibit is divided into two "houses". A house remodeled into an art exhibit, and the modern house in the back for other art pieces. The first house has paintings and items on consignment. Art lines the walls, and you can take it home...for a price. The more modern house was more interesting in my opinion. It had sculptures that told a story. We went to Baterby's after we saw their Picasso exhibition in the Orlando Weekly calendar. I hadn't…read morepreviously seen the gallery pop up when I searched for art spaces in the area but I've made sure to add it to my list after this visit! We thought it would be smaller and only gave ourselves a little time to be there but the collection was huge! The Picasso set in particular was such a delight, it's so exciting to have the opportunity to see work from someone like him right here in Orlando! We planned to spend a half hour, and 2 hours later we were forcing ourselves to leave because there was still more to look at! The art expert was a delight and answered all our questions and more, really adding to the experience for us. The art expert was also the one who put together the written pieces throughout the exhibit explaining different themes and techniques in the Picasso set and they were all excellent; she had already answered so many of our questions that had arisen naturally from our viewing in the pieces; that's great curating! They were also having a warehouse sale which we are already making plans to try and return for, as well as their next exhibition which is a large set of all original paintings from the last living pupil of Picasso, which will at first be interspersed with some of the current Picasso pieces on display. While we were there they were actually painting the interior wall with a pattern inspired by the work of the coming exhibition, which was really cool to see some behind-the-scenes creative curating at work! I'm definitely adding this great spot to my list of Orlando galleries and museums to frequent. It's places like this that help Orlando become an artistic and cultural center on the world map!

Unlike most other mall art stores, this store doesn't sell framed artwork. Their stock is filled…read morewith canvas work that won't break your bank. The most prominent portrait I noticed upon walking in is that of our President Elect, Barack Obama. The painting was a standard size and happened to be on sale for $35 down from $49. Many other individuals are portrayed here and sometimes their picture looks as if it was created with colored pencils or oil pastels. Lucy & Desi, Jack Sparrow, and Jim Morrison were all figures I noticed but the selection was vast and I'm sure your favorite celebrity can also be found there. Most of the paintings were priced around $50 which is fairly reasonable. For a horizontal piece depicting the cast of Friends, expect to pay $250 but for the most part, everything was under $100. I'm not too sure why but in a small cove off of the main area there was a TV playing the movie Braveheart. There were two small tables for anyone wishing to sit too. It seemed like an odd addition to an art store but I suppose in the world of art anything goes.

WHAT A HUGE FRAUD! I purchased a "one of a kind" Warhol Torso poster "signed" To Delta from this…read moreKurstak con artist back in 2022. I wasn't able to frame it immediately so I've stored it until finally having a prized place to hang it. No sooner do I get to a New York dealer last week for framing advice when she points out the signature was printed, not signed by Warhol as I had been guaranteed it was by Kurstak. She shows me under light that among other telltale signs the ink from the pen used exhibited zero bleed you would expect from a marker that size. Just to satisfy my curiosity I just Googled my print for an approx value and - lo and behold - a second poster signed "To Delta" has magically appeared on Kurstak's website. And I was able to add two to the shopping cart. What??? What an AMAZING coincidence! They're multiplying like rabbits. What a criminal act. My attorney is preparing paperwork. STAY AWAY from this "gallery".

Indeed there were and they were shockingly bad. That caused me to look a little further into the piece I was considering buying from Edward Kurstak gallery and what I found was disturbing. I confronted Edward about what I had found and he had no answer. It all kind of makes sense now why he was evasive about certain questions I had on the artwork when I first made contact. I would highly suggest looking elsewhere to purchase artwork. This whole experience was unpleasant but it could've been so much worse had I not read the two prior reviews from Eric A. and Rick W.
