I love this theater so much! The seats are so comfy, and every one has a great view. The popcorn is is really good too, they use real butter! This spot shows new, classic and art house films. It's also a great place to watch Oscar nominated films. There will often be series viewing for nominations in special categories. If you want to meet a new or old friends just step outside to the Eden Bar with original art by Bill Plimton. Here you will find a full bar with beer, wine and many original drinks to choose from. I have had many enjoyable evenings chatting with fellow cinephiles. If you're hungry, they not only have a full bar, they also have a full kitchen with a creative menu. I LOVE the Enzian, and have been coming ever since I moved to Florida. My experience today was on par with the usual service and quality I've come to expect. I'll mention that service is not as attentive as you would expect at a typical restaurant, as you are also watching a movie, so I'm sure it is to keep interruptions minimized. Today, I had a vegetarian wrap with French fries (and of course tasty popcorn!); all were very good. I especially like the fries they serve here, with a battered style coating that keeps the outside crispy, but with a soft interior. Amazing bar and movie theater. The theater serves food and drink, and the seating is extremely comfortable. They play a lot of classic films, and some cool eclectic ones too. Each seating area is different: some have tables, some sofas, some reclining seats. My favorite is the front area because the reclining chairs are so comfortable and it's not (in my opinion, others disagree) too close. The outdoor bar is also really nice - I would come here just for a drink. It's underneath a large and well lit oak tree. They have really delicious and movie inspired cocktails. My friends and I went to the free showing last night on the lawn for "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" and we had a fabulous time! We showed up 45 minutes before the showtime and the lawn was packed. I recommend going at least an hour earlier to get a good spot. Maybe even an hour and a half earlier! We ended up having to park down the street, as the parking lot and overflow lots were full. Once we arrived to Enzian, we were lucky to snag a spot in the front right near the screen and speakers. The speakers were a little loud on our ears so hopefully next time we can get there earlier to get a spot farther back. My friend ordered a flatbread and the kitchen lost her ticket and she ended up waiting over 30 minutes for the flatbread, but luckily, they threw in a free batch of truffle fries to make up for the mistake. The only downside I'd say from this experience was that the group directly behind my friends and I were chain smoking cigarettes the entire time and it was blowing onto me and my friends. It was not enjoyable. The fries were delicious and the overall ambiance of the lawn was magical! The bathrooms were located inside of the theater and the patio restaurant was packed with people dining in. I'm excited to go back to the Enzian again for more movies! read more

This is my second time visiting since it's a bit far for me but i have such a great time! The cocktails at the bar are so delicious and decently priced. They also currently have a valentine cocktail menu. I tried the stupid Cupid and it was so refreshing and just the right amount of sweet. We ordered 4 piece tenders and it was filling for two people. The tenders were perfectly crispy and the staff were so quick with bringing our orders out. There's plenty of parking and the garden area is so cute and romantic for a cute date night! read more

The Enzian Theatre is truly an Orlando gem and a great spot for a date night or to spend a Saturday/Sunday afternoon with family or friends. Unlike Cinepolis, where you can also order food but sit in a regular movie theater chair with a small sliding desk (sort of like the ones in school), at Enzian, you sit on an upholstered chair with a proper table in front of you. You not only have plenty of space to eat comfortably, but also to place your bag, water bottle, or anything else you brought along. They have a surprisingly long menu for a movie theatre, with sizeable portions. I'd say around 90% of people there were ordering food and/or drinks, which was impressive. It really seems like the main reason most people go is to enjoy a full meal while watching a movie. And it works. Other reasons to visit Enzian: tickets are cheaper than in a regular movie theater, service is excellent, and you'd be supporting a local business. read more

This is now my new favourite theater. The seating options are very nice and I enjoyed seeing The Mermaid and meeting the staring actor Johnny Pemberton! The service is also fantastic I love how you can order from your seat and don't have to use your phone. I've been going to the NZN theater for decades and it has not disappointed yet I like that they upgraded the seating and they offer a great ally of movies at someplace that you should definitely look online ahead of time as they have great uncomfortable branches as well as pop-up midnight showings, bring a blanket as it tends to get cool or at least wear a jacket and some pants always clean, always good great drinks great food great appetizers never a disappointment and it's a unique experience to view a movie. My fiancé and I are members here and both work in the film industry so it was only fitting to have our fav date night spot the place we got engaged. They made it an unforgettable day for us! The service was great with our server checking in on us every few minutes I never felt like I was tracking him down. We had a couple drinks at Eden Bar while waiting to enter the theater. Once inside, we had great service. Seating was comfortable. The experience of watching the movie was also great. I really love this theatre. Yes, when I take my older mom, I need to be really thoughtful about where we sit because being near the speakers will end badly for all involved parties (her ears will ring and then I won't hear the end of it for some weeks afterwards) but as long as we get the right seats it's good as gravy. We love going to catch an older film and enjoy lunch or snacks at the same time, parking is actually really easy and way better than the amusement park themed parking situation at most other local big chain theatres and look, I admit I love supporting a smaller independent business. Now the only issue is trying to stay up late enough for some of their let's call them "fringe" showtimes because 9:30pm on a Monday is a rough time to go to a movie even if it's for what looks like an amazing international film. Perhaps handing out caffeine pills with tickets would help in this case? Just a thought! Support the enzian, get a membership and free popcorn for each show is included! 5 Star update for a renovated lobby, streamlined ordering from the menu, and continued excellence at what they do! I got to watch a great film at Enzian the other day and was blown away by the gorgeous lobby renovations! Think, old Hollywood, meets quirky Florida. I'm truly obsessed with the new wallpaper, huge statement rug, concession stand, and stunning chandelier. A few tips: - Order your tickets online ahead of time. Don't worry about printing them out or having them pulled up on your phone, they'll have your last name on a list at the doors. - Arrive early. They open the theater doors half an hour prior to the movie start time, and unless you're a member (with table reservation perks), you'll want to be at the doors when they open to grab a good table/seat. - Use their new SOS table signs to get your server's attention. This is an update to the way things used to work (which was clunky and involved trying to get a server's attention mid-film). The servers have super-human eyes and are over quickly once that little table sign is up. - Come hungry. I love their grilled cheese with a side of tomato soup (for dipping), but the fried chicken fingers are also delish, as are the chocolate chip cookies. This is a theater worth supporting- it's local, independent, and a non-profit arts org. Get on their email list to know what's coming up (including special screenings!) and always check here before hitting up the big chain theaters. Sometimes they're showing the same films! My pre-COVID-times review: Yet another fantastic experience at my favorite local theater. I bought my tickets early, knowing that they often sell out for weekend night screenings and loved the fact that I just had to show up and my name was on a list (no waiting in lines to pick up tickets). Word to the wise- get there early to snag a good spot! As usual, Enzian was showing something wonderful and special that I couldn't have found in any run-of-the-mill movie theater. I love their themed nights and the screening I was attending was part of a two-day Oscar theme (we caught the nominated Best Live Action Short films). I had a snack at Eden Bar prior to the movie, but made sure to save my appetite for the deliciousness that awaited me inside the theater doors. The servers were ninjas, as always. They make taking orders, delivering food, refreshing drinks, and handling payments look easy- All while the theater is dark and they have to keep their voices down and crouch so as not to disturb other movie patrons. Seriously, I imagine the training for this is similar to that of Bruce Wayne in Batman Begins. I'm always surprised by the quality of the food served at Enzian. You'd expect pretty typical fried food but they offer a great variety and the food is top notch. I decided to go with the Grilled Cheese (creamy Fontina cheese on buttery thick-cut ciabatta bread) ~drool~ and a side of Tomato Cream Soup. The bread on this grilled cheese is amazing! I don't know if they soak it in butter before grilling it, but whatever they do it's seriously good. And don't forget to dip it in your tomato soup! This is a perfect pairing and the soup is definitely not of the canned variety (sorry, Campbells...). And for desert, some hot, freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. You get two, but don't be worried that you won't get your $4 worth- they are pretty darn big! Love love love. Love this place! read more

I absolutely love the Enzian! It is small and quaint inside. It is always very clean and inviting! They have a really nice bar outside and a nice garden area with a fountain. I had their chicken fingers and truffle fries. Their chicken fingers are nice and crunchy and their truffle fries a perfectly seasoned. Charles was my waiter and he was very attentive. They have this new system for when you need anything once the lights go down and the movie starts. On your table is a card on a holder that if you need service you just set it up so they can see it. This makes me want to cancel my regular movie theater subscription and become a member at the Enzian. We walked up hoping to grab dinner at the bar (their food is delicious!) and ended up seeing Die Hard! There were tickets available at the box office and we figured why not try out the theater. We entered 30 min before show time and selected our seats (first come first serve). We selected two that would be good for eating dinner since that was our original purpose and ordered our food. We love the chicken tenders with honey mustard, and also got the chicken Caesar salad (sub grilled for fried chicken). The staff is kind and attentive but not overwhelming as to let you cozy in to watch the movie. If we were to need something, just pop up a sign on our table and they came over. We will definitely return soon. It's so old school, and cool it gave me childhood movie nostalgia. read more

Looks like I originally reviewed Enzian about eight years ago. I've been coming several times a years since then, so I reckon it's time for a review update. Really, though, I don't have much to update. I still love it with the same enthusiasm that I did back then, if not more. The food is about the same. That's my only gripe with the place. It's been the same exact menu for many, many years. I would like to see something different, but honestly, the food is so good, it's not necessary, though. They have the 2nd best chicken tenders in town, the best black bean burger I've had in town, and some of the best layered nachos I have ever seen. So yea, food still banging. The service is still top notch. They have added a new communication system that involved flipping up or down signs on your table to signal that you need assistance. This is greatly appreciated, so you can get a server's attention without making a loud ruckus in the middle of a movie. As for the ambiance, this is something that I'm very glad hasn't changed much after all these years. The dark, intimate vibes they put on are so nice and calming. There isn't a bad seat in the house. And they actually just replaced their already comfortable chairs with even More comfortable chairs. I could sit there all day long. And sometimes, I do. One habit I've picked up is attending the Florida Film Festival with the Film Lover pass, so I can watch all movies possible when I'm not at work. I love the FFF. Don't get me wrong, I'm down for a good Mission Impossible movie with explosions and copious violence, but I also hunger for foreign films, short films, documentaries, and the FFF satisfies that hunger over a week-long bender that is full of those aforementioned chicken tenders. So overall, if you just happen to be reading this, and have never been to Enzian, you have to check it out. The food is top notch. They have some of the best chicken tenders in town, and their flatbreads are crispy and full of toppings. Service is always super friendly and will go out of their way to make their demanding WP clientele happy. The theatre itself is stunningly beautiful and very comfortable. Cons: While their menu is good, it hasn't changed in years and years, and even an occasional special would be nice, honestly. When their members don't show up for movies and their seats just sit there empty, it's pretty annoying that they can't give those away to more deserving people who actually show up on time to things. The Enzian Theater and Eden Bar is one of my very favorite places in Orlando. Even with just one theater (currently!), they draw locals to be able to sit back in a comfortable space and watch award winning films and kick back cult classics. While doing so, they've got a menu full of legitimately delicious food (the Chicken & Fries are my absolute go-to - always get the truffle salt and shaved parm added!) and a great drink menu. You can order wine and beer inside the theater, but it's always worth stepping outside to get cocktails and brews on tap outside at the Eden Bar. I'm seeing during my visit today they they're working on renovating the theater - some parts, like most of the different seats and chairs at the tables are already new! It will always be worth your time to come to the Enzian. read more

As someone who attends many performances in the Orlando region and other locales, I've appreciated the fact this is Central Florida's only full-time independent cinema. I recently attended an event held by Opera Orlando at the theater but, in previous years I've watched regular feature films and enjoyed the Enzian's variety of food items and the available seating arrangements. There are numerous events throughout the year including the Florida Film Festival and festivals running the gamut from children and teen films to South Asian and Jewish films. From the standard big box office movie fan to those seeking independent or arthouse fare, the Enzian has you covered. I had the opportunity to speak with Bobby, the box office manager, and advised I plan on patronizing their location more often in the new year. For the New Year's Eve party is James Bond theme, they had a live band playing, we got the vip that included open bar and tapas/appetizer plates all night, it's definitely worth it to pay for the extra, they have meatballs in a sweet sauce that are so good. I have been going to the Enzian for years and the experience is consistent. Could the inside use some updates (new chairs, upholstery, etc) yes, but it also adds to the class of this place and what makes it special. At least it is clean, then that would be a different story. There are always great cult classics, new releases or shirts you would typically only see if you went to a film festival. I have seen films from local directors here as well and appreciate the support they have for local artists. The food won't knock your socks off but it is good and perfect for watching a movie. You can order beer and wine in the theater but no cocktails. Though if you order at the Eden Bar outside you can bring the cocktail in.
