I've been renting from them for 16 months. The staff onsite is nice and helpful, however the corporate policies are awful. First, they lured me in with an introductory rate, but made no mention that it was an introductory rate. My rent has increased 42% in 16 months. The possibility of rent increases are in the contract, but that kind of hike needs to be made abundantly clear from the start ("this is an introductory price ..." . I was extremely surprised at all of the increases I've had in just over one year's time. But, they got me. Access to storage is not much longer than normal business hours, which can be problematic. What's worse, they require you to provide proof of insurance or they will automatically bill you for monthly insurance. Unfortunately their central office and local office are not always on the same page, so I will receive notices multiple times a year from each for me to send them my insurance policy, even after I've already done it. In 16 months I've had to be on the phone with them somewhere in the 5 to 10 times range with billing or insurance problems, and add to that multiple emails. I send them stuff and they conveniently don't receive it. Last time, the proof I showed wasn't enough and they needed the declarations page from my actual policy and additional insurance info. I've got to contact my insurance company and find out the information that they want. All of this so that they can charge me an extra $12 a month. This sort of thing happens multiple times per year. Absolute madness. But I have so much stuff in storage that I would have to hire a moving truck to get it out and into a new unit with a new company. They have me over a barrel, and they know it. What an absolute mistake I made renting from this company. Huge regrets. This is the absolute worst experience I've ever had renting from a storage space, and I have been doing this for well over 15 years. Love this storage facility. Both Tony and Mary were very professional, efficient and helpful. The facility is very clean and seems safe and secure. The prices of storage are on the climb everywhere and their rates might be a little bit more than some other places nearby but after visiting other facilities, it was clear that you get what you pay for. read more

K. A fill-in manager named Manuel at my storage unit is has been harassing Me, and is Power trippin' bc I was in my storage unit. He violated my boundaries and privacy by trying to open the door and barge into my unit while I was inside of it packing my work belongings, but the door caught. After I criticized Him openly and in front of another associate in the office for doing so, He falsely stated that I was in violation of my lease agreement by being in my unit with it closed, and tried to print off my lease agreement to prove it, but failed when the agreement did not verify his wild claim. After I chastised Him in the office for attempting to violate my privacy, He secretly made an unauthorized change to my account, removing my prior 24-hour access, which I need to transport my tools and workgear outside of normal access hours due to my alternative (late night) work hours. Manuel claims to be the Store Manager, but I know the Store Manager, whom is on leave-of-absence currently, and Manuel is just filling in part time at this location to cover the necessary work-hours. His bad attitude is very disruptive to my needs for storage at the facility, and I seek out mediation on this matter post-haste. What is the point in renting a storage unit if I can't even use it when I'm not at Work? Thank You in advance for your consideration in this matter. read more

Great storage and place and super clean. Used this spot for a few months when I moved from Washington to Phoenix; had an exterior 20' unit. It's in a pretty suspect neighborhood but has excellent security. Would definitely use them again if I needed to store anything in that area. read more

The staff at Garfield storage are friendly and helpful. I was having to move from my apartment quickly and needed a place to store my stuff within a day's notice, and the staff were accommodating to my situation. I was able to get a same day appointment to view the units and make a choice in size, then signed the paperwork on the spot. The storage unit was clean and easily accessible. Signage is very viable. Easy to find. Walkways are clean and lobby is organized, well lite. All around simple and effective experience. Photos from Yelp! are accurate. Worried about the heat but everything in the facility was cool, dry, and well lite. Wondering if there are other facilities closer to my work, but for price and location this was a great option. read more

Just moved here from Brooklyn and could not have done it without Garfield Storage. All of my things are secure, clean and kept cool in their climate controlled building. The management is very professional and has offices onsite. The property has been remodeled and is very clean. I needed a unit for a few months to store some odds and ends while I look for a house, and the location was close to downtown so it was very convenient.
