I went here to get an emission test, they're process was super easy and fast. Sign in, take a seat, wait until you're called, get your car checked, $20 cash and off you go. There were about 3 people in front of me but I wasn't there for longer than 20 minutes. The staff was very pleasant. Entering is a bit confusing, the door to the shop is the the right of the gas station kiosk. I wasn't sure where I was going so I asked the women behind and the kiosk and she kindly helped me. My problem was that the gentleman who was doing the emissions tests wasn't wearing a mask and he was going in and out of the shop to get peoples keys and was in close proximity for payment. Agreements were not met and deals were changed, I should have had a contract written up. Definitely a big lesson learned on my part from dealing with the shady owner of this establishment. first off when I went to drop my vehicle off little manager guy started screaming and yelling and seem to be talking about me. Not sure what was wrong with him, but I proceeded and left my car there anyway I waited approximately a week to follow up to see what the diagnostic was then I called back and they said that they were starting to look into what else was going on. My car sat at the shop for three weeks and lo and behold. They never figured out what the issue was but yet they replaced parts that did not work and still charge me for installation and a diagnostic fee, which they never figured out what the problem was . I would avoid the shop at all cost. They have horrible customer service and lack knowledge of automotive care apparently because they will hold your car for weeks at a time and won't repair it. read more

Had a radiators replace there 3 months later i bring in first day the person at the counter tells me theyll check it out its under warranty still, They don't call me first day second day it get a call back telling me it's something different, I tell them I can't do the repairs now They took my took outside unfinished told me not to come back. Car went in shop due to tire and axle snapped they said it was ball joints guy called me back and said "hey your gonna need a new battery" I'm like how my battery was working fine before it got there as I'm explaining myself he was so rude not even listening to me trying to rush me off the phone bad costumers service I hate that place not to mention they tried to tell me I had to get my car fixed there or it would be a fee never ever had customer service like that I hate that place read more

This is my own experience dealing with rude incompetent individual- my mother had her car repaired at Story bross few months back. Couple doors were dented and needed to be repaired and painted also they recommend to repair rust spot on wheel well on 2007 Honda Accord at additional cost. She agreed to it since she had work done there before over the course of years. Few months after rust started showing up again. She went in and they said to comeback at later day because manager or owner has health issues-understandable. She came back week after and they brushed her off again. She called multiple times and they started hanging up on her-great business practice. They took car in for 6 hours and cleaned up some rust and told her they'll need car for 3 or so days to fix it. Finally today she called again and guy started screaming at her that they not going to fix it and such and hang up on her. They my mother called me so I called them. Guy hung up on my twice and don't want to listen nor fix the problem nor give partial refund. We are going to be filing complaint with CT consumer protection, Ct DMV and BBB. Be aware choosing this business. They also said that rust is manufacturer defect they can't fix it. So why did you charge money and attempted to fix it? read more

The mechanic was absolutely amazing that handled my car for emissions he was nice he smiled and very courteous....now the gentleman that checks on old man white hair..very rude definitely not customer friendly, 1st he called me sir never corrected himself or apologized, I tried to ask a question he cut me off told me sign up and sit down no further directions as to anything to do, so needless to say, my search continues for a good mechanic business to bring my car after that encounter!!! Got a great deal on a 4Runner off the old man (who looks remarkably young for his age). He really helped us out when we needed it. Guaranteed the vehicle and when it had a small issue (faulty gas cap created evap leak) he brought it in gave it a full diagnostic, fixed it and sent me on my way. I do not recommend this place they charged me for unauthorized work. after talking to Bob the owner I brought the car in again. over $600 later car still not fixed. I bring the car back to him, 3 days later my car still in his shop so I thought! come to find out an employee took my car to his home in Bristol to work on it. now I know by now u think I'm lying right? well to my surprise Bob told me himself which I have on video. he basically asked us to leave and told us he will not fix my car since I told him I'm filing a complaint with DMV. oh and I did post the video on my Facebook page because I refuse to be called liar. too bad it would not allow me to leave the video on this review. Had the worst experience ever here for a simple admissions test on my car, took it here thinking everything would be done well I was wrong, so after the admissions I noticed scratches on my passenger rear fender once I got home which clearly were not there before doing emissions. So I took the car back to where it was done and they dined doing the damage even though it was clearly there fault, and what was even worse is that the owner did nothing at all to help with the situation, haven't even owned the car for a month they Did not even offer to help fix it or at least pay for half which would've helped even if they paid half to have the body work done. CUSTOMER BEWARE! Do not take your car here for it's services. My advice would be take your vehicle to your nearest certified dealer for its services because story brothers workers are not the sharpest tools in the shed. read more

Story Brothers was recommended to me for body work. I met with Jeff who manages this part of the business. He is very pleasant to deal with and he has a very hectic job as I watched him as handle calls and staff. He explained the necessary repairs and I felt confident that SB's is the correct choice for me. The repair work was completed on time and the repair looked as good as new. If I needed body repair again ,hopefully not, I would definitely return. I only met one other employee, who delivered my vehicle to me and he was just as respectable as Jeff. Story brothers is a complete rip off. Do not bring your car there at all. They have no conscience. Just like any piece of crap auto shop that mess up your car. And put you in danger so you can bring it to them to fix it. My family member brought the car to them to fix it they mess up another part. And force my family member to pay almost $600 that they messed up. They put dirty oil in your car. Another time, charge my family member one price then said it was almost double. Hes a scumbag. I would not bring your vehicle here!! I took my car in to be looked at because it stopped blowing heat. After they supposedly looked at it, I was told the blower motor was bad. They had applied direct power and it did not come on. I was quoted over $500 to fix it and when i asked for a break down of the price it was dropped down to $425. I did not have them do the work and had it looked at by someone else, who found the blower motor was just unplugged and once plugged back in it started working. Has been working fine ever since! read more

Customer Beware!!!.. This is just my opinion, but this place is a joke! The vehicle had a front end rattle clearly noticeable by a 1st grader..So I recently had my front suspension replaced by a friend thinking that was where the rattle was coming from..Unfortunately that didn't fix the problem and I was told from him that he was 100% sure it was the motor mounts ..He said he could do them but it would be easier to bring it somewhere "respectable" that a had a lift..After leaving my car @ Story Bros., their first call to me , I was told " nothing wrong"!, OMG!! I couldn't believe what i was hearing, because the clunking was so prominent..They then took another look (so they say) after I tell them to...They then end up telling me it was the new suspension part that was less than a week old!!! They did find to links in the rear that I knew needed changing , but it wasn't the main problem on the vehicle. Needless to say I brought it back to my friend and he ended up changing the mounts, clunking gone..Either this so called mechanic from Story Bros. was not trained properly or just didn't care .. And the non mechanic common sense friend is a genius!! Lol...MY best advice Is to stay away from this place ..Oh , abd they also failed to mention I had rust underneath the car that created a hole...Run from this place!!! read more

Took my Truck to Story brother's for what was showcased as a high end detailing job. I was very disappointed, especially after spending almost $300 to find several obvious mistakes that other detail places charging HALF the amount would have taken care of. Wax (or some type coating) very evident that it had not been completely wiped off in a of couple places, one large swatch on a door (my 9year old even noticed!), not all the plastic trim wiped to "shine".... Windshield had the residue from two stickers (I removed prior) still there....wondering if they even cleaned the glass, leather seats were not treated at all. read more
