The mansion is nicely done with some legit family heirlooms and lots of period correct furnishings. The museum is small but nice. Not busy on Sunday afternoon and very fair price. My only complaint is the length of tour, almost 2 full hours, its too much. Mt. Vernon, Monticello, other historical homes 'more important' are half that.

Cute little park. Lots going on here. The pond seems to be the main attraction. They actually…read moreprovide fees for the ducks so you're don't feed them bread. That's kind of handy. A couple pavilions, lots of benches to stop and just stare at the pond, the trees and the ducks. Appears they do allow fishing but have soMe rules posted on this. We saw lots of people fishing but no fish being caught. They have a frisbee golf course, a nice walk way around the pond and we noticed a little food house at entrance that seems to be run or supports veterans. Don't quote me on that because we didn't stop and talk to them. Lots of parking. Lots of shade and pretty relaxing area. Trash(and recycling only) bins a plenty. Quite an asset to Chillicothe. Glad we stopped in and checked it out.

Yocatangee Park is the big park in Chillicothe. It's the nicest place in the city. There's a huge…read morepond on the middle of it. It has some recreational sports fields. There's also several walking paths and trails. If you're on the main street which is Bridge Street, it's on the west in the middle of the city. It's located along the Scioto River. There's a few things worth checking out. It has several paths around the park so it's nice to walk around. The pond is the best thing. It's located near the entrance. The park is big enough that it can be enjoyed even while there's youth sports leagues there. It has plenty for everyone. This is convenient to the downtown area and there's plenty of parking. It may not be the nicest park you've been to but it's great compared to this area. It's hard to believe a park this nice is in this city. There may be lots of things going wrong in Chillicothe but this isn't one of them.

Unique piece of Ohio history…read more Bring a picnic and stay awhile! The parking lot is small, but the visitor center is very informative. There is a short movie to watch, small gift shop, restrooms, maps and the best part the staff. The rangers and volunteers do a great job of helping you explore the park. If you bring kids I highly recommend asking for a junior rangers booklet and completing some of the activities to earn their badge. The area is beauty and serene. I teach my kids to respect the area like a cemetery. The hills and mounds are not to be walked on, but there is plenty explore. If you want a little more adventure walk the nature path down by the river.

Plan on walking around this location since the other locations the mounds have disappeared from centuries of traffic and plowing. The mounds have been restored here and give you a feel of what they were like. The rangers are great and full of knowledge.

An attractive, fairly small courthouse. Stopped in to see about a parking ticket. My fault, but…read moreconfusing meter placement, so I wanted to try not to have to pay it. Turns out, this is the place you pay tickets; you need to talk to the police department if you are disputing it. The staff here were great. Security tried to answer my ticket questions, and directed me to a counter. The lady there gave Baby K a sucker, and explained what I needed to do, giving me the phone number for the police and tips on navigating the phone system, who to talk to, etc. All in all a pleasant experience here, plus I did end up fixing the ticket with their help. Parking around back and on streets nearby, but be careful and read the signage- you don't want to get a ticket while dealing with another one...

Horses, cannons, canoes, bluecoats and deerskin-robed Shawnee tell the story of Tecumseh, a heroic figure in the First Peoples' fight to save their way of life. We took the backstage tour led by two new members of the professional cast - a young man from Kansas, the other from New Orleans. My suggestion for management - and this is really important - you filled the auditorium with 500 back-to-school teenagers (end of August) and they're inattentive chaperones. The chatter, giggles, guffaws went unanswered by the chaperones, whom I gave an F+. They were paid to be there, and did nothing to "teach" the young people theatre etiquette. Removing one or two of the mouths would have taught the rest how to behave. I imagine the producers need the concession revenue and that's why the menu played to the high carb/high-fat options teens favor. While it was a "slow" night for the performance (only 600 guests), cars from Kentucky, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, Indiana drove to see Tecumseh!. These cash paying families were annoyed with the rude teenagers, too. One mom - cranked, "unbelievable". I agree. The actors and the audience deserve better. Management needs to expect more from students and their chaperones. In the meantime, I will share my praise for the production and look for the talented actors in the future productions.

The only thing we did not like at all was the concession stands. If you are wanting a meal there, they only have pork and beef products, nothing for vegetarians or pescatarians. They are also limited on snacks. We tried the pretzel and cheese, which was really unimpressive. The food just tasted cheap for how much it cost. Overall, the show was great but I would definitely bring your own snacks or eat beforehand (just our opinion though).
