Super cute! This place is inside Homegrown which is an old school vibey diner. Limited seating for sure, but cool vibes.

They have a roaster in the back of their building so lots of in house coffee beans to buy. They also have a merch shop in the sitting area baked goods available as well. I got a dirty chai with their vanilla bourbon syrup iced it was pretty good. If I'm in the area walking again, I probably will stop by. It's a cute area to sit at too, so it'll be a great place to hang out and have a business meeting or just a catch up with a friend.

TL;DR: If you like dark roast, this is your place. If not, skip it…read more One thing about the ambiance: reviews are mentioning how cute and hipster this spot is, but practically all of the ambiance in the cafe can be seen in the photos I've attached. There's a record player, and one shelf of coffee beans that the cafe is selling. It's hard to know what the vibe is because the space is just so sparse, with even the "chrome yellow" shade in the name of the cafe nowhere to be seen. There are plenty of folks who come here to work, but I wouldn't recommend working here because the wifi is given out via temporary codes with a 2hr time limit (photo attached) and the tables are on the small side. Reviews tend to mention the quality of the drinks, and the drinks are good... but not my preference. The matcha leans on the sweet side, and the coffee tends to taste like a very dark roast. In terms of food, the only food is overnight oats with dried berries that comes out to almost $10. Overall, would not recommend unless you're a coffee connoisseur looking to try different roasts around the city.

Perc is exactly the kind of coffee shop I wish I had near home…read more The space checks every box for me: tons of natural light, great music, plenty of tables, easy access to power, and enough room to spend an hour or an entire afternoon. It feels bright, welcoming, and genuinely built for people who want to enjoy being there. What really sets it apart, though, is the team. Every interaction I've had has been excellent. They're friendly without being overbearing, happy to chat, generous with recommendations, and consistently positive. You get the sense that they actually enjoy what they do, and it makes a difference. The Good Times Latte is one of my favorite coffee drinks anywhere. I can't get enough of it. If Perc sold their syrups by the bottle, I'd probably take them home and put them in everything. The drink is already fantastic, but that little touch of habanero sugar takes it to another level. It's the kind of detail that sticks with you long after you've finished the cup. Easy five stars. I can't wait to be back!

The restaurant is bright and vibrant. We ordered the matcha daze. It came out shortly thereafter. The vanilla-lavender flavor added a different taste to the matcha, but we liked it. It's nestled in the Grant Park community and convenient. They also serve food and have plenty of indoor/outdoor seating. Be sure to check them out, if you're in the area!
