We enjoyed our time at Poach Social this morning. I have the Toast and Chicken. The best french toast I've ever had and the chicken was tender and flavorful. We eat out often and everyone in our party cleaned their plates. This is a great compliment. However, the bread pudding was too dry and could not be rescued by the scoop of ice cream on top. Brought the bread pudding home with me, made a sauce and all is perfect with the world. Poach Social atmosphere was perfect this morning. Will return soon. read more

We had a wonderful experience at Poach Social! I had to change plans last minute for a loved one's birthday celebration, and when I called two days before I needed a reservation, the staff was so kind and accommodating! We had to make a decision quickly when we were pivoting, and when we came across the great reviews and photos of the food. we didn't think twice about checking to see if we could make it happen. When we arrived, the staff was already preparing our table, so we only had to wait a few minutes before being seated. The space is pretty tight, and you're going to be close to the tables near you, but we were able to sit comfortably. Our server came over quickly to take our drink orders, and afterward she came back to answer any questions. Most of the food was ready at the same time. We appreciated that it came out as it was ready and wasn't left sitting. And everyone enjoyed the food! The only "complaint" one of my friends had was that she thought there was a little too much sauce in her shrimp and grits dish. She felt that the sauce, while it tasted great, overpowered the dish and she would've liked to taste more of the grits flavor. All in all, I'd say we'll likely be back to try something else on the menu. read more

This place was delicious! There isn't much outdoor seating, only 2 tables, but I did sit outside because I was looking for more of a quiet vibe. But the inside was lovely. My girlfriend and I wanted to have brunch so we ordered the French toast, shrimp and grits, the jerk, chicken eggrolls, and the avocado toast with some mock tails and cocktails. The food was very good, but it did take a little time. I believe because it's a scratch kitchen. It was worth the wait. Our servers name was Langston and he took really good care of us. He made sure to check on us and explain the menu as well. Our drinks did take a lot more time to get to the table. It's a cute and trendy place, but the only thing I would change was the placing of tables because when people are passing by, it was very difficult. Poach Social is an unassuming spot in the Summerhill neighborhood. At first, I was worried about parking, especially on a Sunday, but there was plenty of street parking. Since I was by myself, I was seated pretty promptly. Taking in the ambiance, it's almost like coming into someone's kickback at their house. Music was great. I will preface this review by saying we visited Poach Social smackdab during the 4-night Beyonce tour in ATL. Being a Black owned spot, the Beyhive was fully present. While PS is a small, neighborhood spot, I think they had maybe five people working there, including the chef(s) and bartender. Equally sparse is the parking. While luck was on our side and we managed to snag a spot right in the front, most may struggle finding somewhere to fit their car along the narrow-ish adjacent neighborhood streets. The menu advises that waits can be long, and that is honest truth. Everything took a while, from getting water to ordering. The host was also acting as our server and in-between food runner as well. He was as attentive as possible considering the crowd and the lack of hands, and we were far more sympathetic for him than upset with the delays in service. We started with the espresso cocktails, which were absolutely delicious. I ordered the smoked salmon avocado tower and split the French toast and chicken with my wife. The French toast had a great flavor with a custardy inside, and the chicken was moist and well cooked. My cousin's shrimp and grits was flavorful too and she enjoyed it. Unfortunately, they brought me an avocado toast instead of the salmon tower. The server offered to add a side of salmon which would make it "pretty much the same," but that it would take a while. The two dishes were actually very different per the menu, but I agreed for the sake of ease. By the time we had eaten and were ready for the check, the salmon hadn't even arrived so I just ate the toast. The server offered to box the salmon up for me to go, but I didnt want it at that point. With most of the patrons there for the concert and Beyonce's best playing in the background, it was a fun vibe. None of us were very hungry, so waiting was bearable. So this place was a bit underwhelming to me. I've had it on my list of brunch restaurants to try for sometime now and finally ended up going for Easter Sunday this year. My first impression is that it is pretty tiny. It's just one room and that room is jampacked with tables. I almost feel like if they're going to have a location that small there should be a few less tables just for there to be more room, but I understand it's a business. However, it did kind of affect my comfort a little bit. There were a few times where I had to move out of the way so that servers could get by me and my first thought was there's just not enough room in this restaurant. I also thought it would be a little bit more of an upscale aesthetic than it was. It is nice in there don't get me wrong but the overall aesthetic was different than I expected. The ambience was OK. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. My food was also pretty decent not amazing but not horrible so as you can see from pretty much everything I'm saying it was overall just OK to me. I will say the service was good though we had a waitress and then another man we spoke to who I'm not sure if he is the manager or what but they were both really friendly and helpful. I did order some scrambled eggs that took a very long time and I assume to make up for it they ended up giving my mom and I free mimosas which was a really nice touch so I would definitely say the service was good out of everything. I thought that was the best part, but to me the food was nothing to write home about and I just think that the place is just a little too small for the number of tables that they are trying to serve at the same time. read more

I've been here a number of times and have ordered off of door dash a couple of times as well. They have never disappointed me. The jerk chicken egg rolls are great starter. The flavor of the rolls is just the right amount of spice but not too spicy. I've tried a couple of different entrees: the fried chicken + French toast, the salmon polenta, the breakfast skillet, bacon egg & jam, and SLT are all great options! Next on my list to try will be the fried chicken sandwich or the Cajun pasta. Our server was attentive and had great energy. I only gave 4 stars because it can sometimes feel a little cramped inside. The venue is small but they've done their best to set up the tables to maximize the space. Additionally, with a small party you tend to be sat next to the window or near the kitchen door. In both of these areas gnats and flies tend to be an issue. It can definitely get annoying while you're trying to enjoy your food. But then I thought that for all the negativity we received from the hostess, two other employees went out of their way to accommodate us. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon with no reservation and expected to wait an hour to be seated. Got to the bar and the server was very nice and told us it would be ok to order food just as the ladies did who were sitting beside us at the same bar. Few mins later someone else approached us an asked us if we would like to be seated because there was a table available and there were two people being seated in our place at the bar. Cool. Get to the table waiting for it to be cleaned and the hostess very rudely tells us we can't sit there because someone was waiting for that table for a long time. The thing is I didn't ask to sit there. Already had a seat which was now gone and you are just telling me a problem without offering a solution. So unprofessional as we sat and watched her argue with the employee who offered us the table. In the end I noticed a table outside and we were able to sit there instead. Then we were harassed by flies and dragonflies. Anyway it was just not a great experience mostly because of how the hostess went about it. But again the two other employees were super friendly and customer oriented so they made up for it. As for food, I ordered French toast and turkey sausage, both very good. Also tried the wings and enjoyed those too. Because Beyoncé was in town, her songs were on repeat, which I loved, and they also offered a special cocktail made with Sir Davis which was very tasty. For one, the mainstay of a good breakfast is a latte for me and I asked one of the employees there if they served lattes and he said yes. I think he was even the manager, which makes no sense at all. I found them to be a little soggy and nothing special. He did not care for them either. For my meal, I got some chicken sausage and smoked salmon avocado tower. I did not care for the chicken sausage. It was really chewy and just not very flavorful. Again a miss for me. The other issue was the tower. So when I think of a tower, I think of something that's tall and this was literally just some avocado toast basically. I literally thought they brought out the wrong dish. It's a complete misnomer and it also just wasn't very good. We sat outside and it didn't help that there were so many flies. I highly recommend a reservation and you have to put a credit card down to get one, but cancel without penalty up until your reservation time. With that, we still had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated after arriving a few minutes late. We were seated inside (there are a few outside tables) and our server was prompt and friendly. We started with the lemon zest honey wings and they were amazing! No sauce needed. For my entree, I got the cajun shrimp pasta and it came with 6 huge shrimp. The sauce was light and flavorful, not as creamy as I expected so that was a nice surprise. Parking is easy in their private lot or on the street nearby. There are not enough stars to rate this place. I went on a Sunday for brunch. There was about a 30-minute wait for a table but I prefer to sit at the bar. Ari, the bartender was stellar & so was the food. I had the Poach Veggie Omelet. Everyrhing was cooked to perfection. The French toast was great! The drink menu was creative. This place is a whole vibe!! Get here! Oh, & parking was easy. I got a spot on the street but there is a small lot that offers easy access. Thank me later! read more

Really good brunch in downtown Atlanta! There weren't that many people on Friday during lunch, but the food took a little bit to come out. The menu is quite limited and prices are pretty standard for Atlanta brunch, ranging from $15-$25 per dish. The portions were pretty big, and I enjoyed the food. Both the salmon lox sandwich and the skillet were delicious. This would be a nice place to come with friends and have a nice brunch with drinks. read more

Poach Social is the perfect brunch spot to get good food and service that makes you feel special in an intimate spot. The service was outstanding. Our waiter was friendly and helpful. The gentleman behind the bar (which happened to be next to our table) was great as well. He was enthusiastic about helping my table mates find something we enjoyed. The selection just so happened to be a shot of the Beyonce Whiskey, Sir Davis. It came with a song request as well (nice touch) as my table mates attended the Beyonce concert the night before! Our food was fair priced and good portion sizes. The shrimp and grits seemed to be the best thing we ordered. The grits were the perfect consistency and the shrimp was flavored so well. We also had a breakfast skillet, jerk chicken egg rolls and the bacon, egg jam on brioche. The sandwich was a great mix of unique flavors that went well together. With so many options in Atlanta you can be extremely choosy about where to go for a good brunch. I think we made a great choice while on our trip. This may be a spot where you sometimes need a reservation. We went around 12 on Saturday and we were seated right away. The place is very small on the inside but the decor was very light and fresh. We started off with the egg rolls and wings. The egg rolls me personally I didn't care for but my besties loved it. The wings were good and I asked them to cook it extra crispy. We did order the peach mimosas they were okay to me. We ordered the: Pan seared salmon over polenta; shrimp and grits; breakfast skillet; and French toast. Everything was delicious. The only thing I want to point out is on the breakfast skillet is a lil on the dry side unless you ask for some salsa, ketchup, or gravy. read more
