Ive never seen a ymca in such disarray and we are frequent visitors at other locataions. The pool and clutter around it was hazardess. Would not recommend this YMCA for a safe swim for children and families. Lifeguards should not be on their phones or daydreaming at the ceiling. The young lifeguard with the auburn/red ponytail should be spoken to and re trained.

My children received an excellent preschool education there - and grew tremendously both socially and academically. Both of them have made amazing friendships with students and connections with teachers. Highlights for my children have been the home cooked lunches and healthy snacks, outdoor play time, thematic play based units, exposure to different languages and cultures, tinkering table, plays and performances, and classroom jobs. Not even a hour after dropping of my son, I received a rushed call to pick my son up. When I got there, I had asked Latoya if I could speak to her privately about my son to which she stated he had to be present. I disagreed because it is inappropriate and unprofessional and yet she still protested against my request until she finally gave in. Once we were in a private room, her attitude and demeanor changed to a judgmental, insensitive and unprofessional woman. I felt belittled and disrespected on so many levels because I feel like if she had a calmer, collected, empathic and understanding first initial approach with me things wouldn't have escalated the way it did. She raised her voice on multiple occasions and even raised her finger to point at me which I found offensive. She falsely accused me of justifying my son's behavior without understanding that he may have mental health disorder that prevent him from expressing his words correctly to strangers he does not yet know well . She failed to comprehend that as a mother I am my sons biggest and only advocate and was trying to understand what was going on. My encounter with her has been the worse experience ever. I am quite shocked myself because everything was so good and smooth in the beginning. Overall, I feel like the situation could've been handled better by expressing empathy, patience and professionalism with a calm and collected tone of voice. In the end, you have to be sensitive and gentle with people because you don't really know what's going on in their lives and it's not okay to belittle others. I wish she would've provided alternative solutions and other options rather than guilt tripping me. When I emailed her stating I was leaving a negative review, she quickly stated she had all this information and informative resources that will better assist me on my situation. However, I've been waiting ever since, and she continues to neglect the matter. Luckily, I found a backup plan and have a strong support system and all the resources I need. The learning Experience definitely lacks well trained staff members and could benefit more with additional training and a stronger resourceful leader who isn't riding a high horse.

These included issues around bathroom privacy supervision, a classmate's aggressive and inappropriate language, and physical incidents that ultimately led us to withdraw both of our children. We escalated these concerns multiple times through emails, in-person conversations, and meetings with both teachers and leadership over many months. During this period, the classroom had a constant rotation of staff, with many different teachers covering the class. The lack of consistency was noticeable and directly impacted supervision and overall care. What ultimately drove our decision was not just the incidents themselves, but the pattern in how they were handled by leadership. Despite repeated escalation, we did not see meaningful follow-through. Issues we raised continued to arise, and we did not observe clear, lasting changes being put in place. Some of the responses we received minimized the seriousness of the concerns rather than addressing them head-on. When you are trusting a center with your children, that kind of response is deeply concerning and, in our view, unacceptable. Our experience started off positively, with several caring and dedicated teachers. However, over time we saw a clear decline in consistency, communication, and how more serious concerns were managed. By the end, we no longer felt comfortable keeping our children enrolled. Based on our experience, we would not recommend this center and would encourage families to look closely at other options.

The new owners and director didn't even have the decency to introduce themselves when dropping off and picking up my daughter. They also didn't notify or explain changes of staff. But the most unsettling thing is that they seem to be constantly be in violation of state mandated teacher-child ratios. I would strongly suggest staying away unless something drastically changes.
