How convenient and good timing. So I said okay and I wasn't going to work with them because the timing was suspicious. But I said that I would still work with them. So we scheduled another day. I received an email asking if they could come out on a specific day and I said yes but I guess I didn't respond that same day and that was a problem. The next email I got was a response with the another date almost two weeks later. I asked what happend to the earlier date and I was told the sales rep books up fast and they got booked and then the asked me if I wanted another sales rep and I said yes and asked what time could they make it. The final email the sent me said after checking they don't service my area. Like really?! I already gave them my address the first time we talked, and now y'all don't service my area? Which is the Philadelphia area. That's real strange to me and still confused by their actions and responses. I wasn't rude or anything. Maybe someone will have better luck with this company but I couldn't be okay without sharing this with whoever decides to contact this company and maybe they will see this and not do this to the next potential customer.

I had our first floor renovated in the house my grandparents bought in 1949. Underneath the dining…read moreroom and hallway carpet were the original floors made of Oak and Pine respectively. Floors I had never seen before until the renovation. The hallway floors also had tile on them which was underneath the carpet. Lucky all the floors were still in pretty good shape. My original kitchen contractor had pulled up the carpet and tile and sanded them. However, we parted ways before the job was done and I reached out to AC&T to do the floors because of their great reviews. It was true. Kevin amd his team are great! Kevin initially came out and looked at my floors, talked to me about what I wanted to do, made suggestions. The price for us was good and so we booked with them. We stayed in an airbnb for a few days while they worked on the floors because I was having them stained and we wouldn't be able to walk on them. The team came in and re-sanded all the floors including the steps and made them so much better. They also reinforced the steps and filled in any wood gaps all around. I wanted to get some vinyl installed in my…read moreenclosed porch (a small project) and to discuss some repair options for in my living room and kitchen. Maurice came out very promptly after I contacted him and he straight-up told me that a patch-job wouldn't work inside my house. He explained the list of mistakes that were made during the original installation, which occurred before we moved in. He pointed out that not only did the builders choose the cheapest material possible, but they did not prepare the sub-floor adequately and now my flooring is cracking, disconnecting, and the surface is bumpy/rolling. Maurice gave me quotes for the porch project and to redo all of my main-level flooring. Both quotes were completely reasonable, but my husband and I opted to deal with the main floor issue when it's time for us to sell this house and move out. For now we just bought a super-large area rug! I did retain Maurice for the porch project, and since it was so small he was able to send Dale over on a day when someone else had cancelled. Dale arrived right when Maurice said he would, and the project took 3.5 hours total. I am impressed with the finished project and very pleased with Maurice's consistent communication and honesty. Anyone who's been through this kind of thing before knows that some folks just disappear (like someone who never followed-through and sent me the quote they promised) or others just tell you what you want to hear (like the guy who said he COULD patch my living room floor). When the time comes to replace our main floors, I would not hesitate to use Maurice again. He's a small-business owner, a man of color, and a veteran. We should make efforts to support these types of laborers, especially when they have great business practices! :)

Decided to do 2 other rooms in the same hardwood and made the purchase from Lowes as it matched the existing PERFECTLY. Here is the rub. Clearly after doing the first room, I realized that the work was a bit more involved than my knees would take. I reached out to A & J to get a quote on having them do the second room as I have had work done by them 3 times before and all jobs were a success!! I did not get the telephone. The gentleman that answered was a bit "put off" when I asked his name and got the standard, "well who is this"? I introduced myself and explained that they had done work for us before, and I wanted to see if they could help me out. I was asked where I bought the flooring, and I responded Lowe's. Then I got a "we will not install flooring purchased from Lowe's" No explanation, no nothing. That will be the LAST time I EVER call A & J and if their "m.o. is to be rude, they are successful!! Clearly, they have fart too much business and will ever get another dime of mine and my referrals will be sent to LL, Lowes or ANYONE that is not A&J. Avoid these guys like the plague!!!!
