The best part about this week, aside from getting my kiddos in for their dentist appointment (see…read moremy prior review), was my chance to get my teeth cleaned as well. My experience was top notch! Jory (sp?) deserves a 10-star rating for being thorough and gentle. I think she might be new. To be completely honest, I figured I was doomed. I convinced myself that I'd get reprimanded for not making teeth and gums my top priority. Let's face it, when you're stuck at home or wearing a mask all the time in public, flossing and brushing sometimes take a back seat. Surprisingly, I got a thumbs up for doing a pretty good job with barely any plaque buildup - woot! Good gums...check! In my prior review for my kids, I shared the safety precautions being taken. Masks, temperature checks, spaced seating in the waiting area, and tons of hand sanitizer everywhere. Behind the doors (something I didn't see with my kids), they took my purse and placed it in a bin and ran a UV light over it to zap any germs before I could take it into the cleaning area. The cleaning process. Mouthwash provided in a cup, swish and spit back in the cup (no sink). Jory provided me with goggles. Jory wiped down the heavy x-ray blanket after use and wiped down items that would be used for the next patient. My cleaning was incredibly thorough, especially that bottom middle tough area. The biggest bummer is that they aren't polishing teeth right now due to the fact it emits a spray into the air. Sadly my teeth might not be sparkly clean polished white, but I appreciated the safety measures being taken.

After an extended hiatus from having my teeth cleaned on the recommended schedule, the entire staff took extra care to calm my nerves on my first trip back. They were gentle, thorough, and kind throughout the entire process and have continued to be at each subsequent cleaning. Dr. Chad also removed my wisdom teeth and it was honestly so easy (for me). He numbed my mouth so well (thanks!!!) and was so calm and quick. I'm not kidding when I say I think the entire process took maaaaybe 15 minutes with no complications and no pain. He's a great dentist and I highly recommend the entire practice to anyone who is in the market for a new dentist!!

And yet,.. here is one more star/medal/prize: I came to Dr. Cooper for consultation about my old failing/failed implants. He took an X-Ray, then did a CT scan, shared his findings with recommendations, and gave me a referral to the oral surgeon/implantologist. How much do they usually charge you for a consultation + X-Ray + CT scan? I know the answer, been there, done that, and your answer is wrong: Dr. Cooper charged me $0,.. Nothing! Can you believe that? I don't want people to print this review and show it to him, "You charged this guy $0, and I want the same price", but I just can't help yelling from the roof of the world's tallest tower, "This Doctor/Dentist must be from another planet where humanity, kindness, compassion, and decency still exists!" And, of course, his staff is always "top notch", and I suspect that the staff usually mimic the doctor, and I learned that in my long life spanning apx. 3 generations. Dr. Soni had me come into the office, dealt with an infection and then in a couple weeks after he had cleared the infection he performed a root canal. I was given too many "root canal" tales and was very nervous about the procedure. No pain and learned that this dentist is gentle and checked with me to ensure I was not in pain and comfortable, As a dentist he seems so empathetic, caring and very knowledgeable. He makes recommendations and gives options. The care I received was kind, caring and extremely professional. I have not had a lot of luck with dentists over the years but at this point I believe I have FINALLY found my forever dentist. I have referred several of my friends to him, and was happy to bump into them in the office. I know that 3 of them are currently patients of Dr. David. And one intends to see him when she loses her current dentist. How can I say more than to send friends to him? The office is comfortable and the staff are wonderful, always welcoming. My hygienist is Chrissy, and has become another person I look forward to seeing at every visit. I am pleased to know how much I will need to save up for payments for upcoming visits after what the clinic anticipates from insurance. And I have never felt pressured in any way at this clinic. Doc is a magician. From children to the elderly, he is incredible with every age, and any procedure. Our family has been patients of Dr. Michiels for 20 years.
