I ordered the Portland Blend tea for my wife. This was my first order, and Strand has gained a loyal customer for life. We were actually sent the wrong order at first but Strand promptly responded to the issue and sent us the correct tea. The tea itself is delicious. They also included little cookies and some tea trivia with the order, both of which we loved. We just recently found these guys and their teas are truly top notch! We've ordered a bunch of different loose leaf teas and there hasn't been one that's been less than 5 stars! So happy we found them. If you're in the Sandy, boring, Gresham, estacada area it's even better because they will drop your tea order off at Boring Bark, so no shipping costs. The Portland peach, island dream, and cherry rose sencha are the current favorites for flavored and the yunnan-hong cha is delicious for non flavored. Strand Tea is an internet purveyor of fine teas. Much like the big boys, Amazon and Zappos, Strand delivers Wow Moments for tea drinkers. The pleasure starts from browsing the website, where a full description of each tea is made, often including information about cultivation techniques and other journalistic comments. I just made my first order from this company. Every step of the shopping experience here has been enjoyable. First, the website is organized between types of tea, and descriptions include hi-res photos of the leaves, as well as notes on their taste, preparation, and popularity. Prices, when compared to other vendors like Adagio and Teavivre are actually cheaper. My order shipped from Portland OR to Queens NY in two days through USPS priority mail ($4.99 shipping). Shortly after ordering, they email you a tracking number as well. My order of the black Bai Lin Gongfu and Yin Zhen White Needle arrived in great condition, complete with a free sample of black dragon (smart... probably based on the bai lin) and cookies. All three teas seemed fresh, with a strong aroma. Preparation instructions were included on the bag labels. And the taste did NOT disappoint. 10/10, I'm more than satisfied with my purchase. The Bai Lin had a very rich, earthy/nutty/malty taste with a lot of natural sweetness and no astringency. The White Needle, which is limited production, has a subtle, sweet, and slightly nutty taste. ALSO, ST gets all their tea from family businesses and organic producers. In fact, it was noted on my invoice that the Bai Lin was grown on a family operated farm, with purchase directly supporting the family. Cool. There was a handwritten thank you and a couple pages on tea facts and tips for enjoying and preparing your tea (for some reason these types of things make an impression on me). I've just gotten started on tea, and I know very little about it (so forgive the crude taste descriptions lol), but ordering from Strand Tea is not difficult at all.
