Extremely doughy and undercooked maple bar
    Sierra D.

I've heard a lot of mixed reviews of this place, but had to check it out for myself on my way to Mount Hood. My husband and I got an apple fritter, cronut, maple bar, and cinnamon twist. The donuts tasted fine (apple fritter had the best flavor) but all of the donuts were extremely doughy and undercooked. Like when you bit into it, the donut just flattened into nothing. Unfortunate because I feel like they have potential to be really good if they just worked on their baking. Probably won't be back anytime soon, but if you're on your way to the mountain and in need of some cheap donuts, they'll do the job.

Delish!! There is a good variety of donuts to choose from, even cronuts! The service is very quick and polite. I ordered and got everything bagged up in less than 5 minutes, even with the afternoon rush line outside the door. This is a cute quiet mom and pop shop. The parking is small so be prepared to walk. :)

It's a Sandy area must go! Small little shop doing what they do best, donuts. The simple cake donut was not my favorite I have had, yet the fritters are high in my list. Try the blueberry- you will thank me later. Looking forward to trying more when in the area.

Great service, fun little setup and delicious donuts! Thank you for serving my family & I!

    Wow! Soooo good!

We stopped in today on our way Sunriver. They close at 5:00 and we got there at 4:52! The guy working there, possibly the owner, was super friendly. It's a really cute place and the donuts are phenomenal! We will definitely be by on our way home. ,

They're good donuts! And cheap too. I think what I appreciate most about Joe's is the "small town" store feel: it's got a unique look, they've been around for decades, employees are friendly without being over the top, they're fair about prices, they decorate for every holiday, etc. Pull off the road as you pass through Sandy, you probably won't regret one of these sweet treats to fuel you up before or after your Mt Hood activities.

The locals and frequent travelers to Mt. Hood love this doughnut shop. There is always a line out the door. Lots of campers buy the doughnuts by the dozens, choosing several varieties. Prices are far better than those fancy doughnut shops in Portland. These are your basic doughnuts - cake and yeast - both are delicious. I got the Boston Cream, but I think they call it something different. It's a yeast doughnut with vanilla cream inside and the top is dipped in dark chocolate. It is very sweet so definitely get a cup of coffee to cut the richness. I prefer the basic cake doughnut. Either the plain, cinnamon sugar or powdered sugar. They are small, half the size of the others, but they are dense and filling. Look for the red and white checkerboard building as you drive through Sandy heading up to Mt. Hood.

Reasonably priced sweet pre-hike snack! Friendly staff and line moves fairly quick. A few tables to sit at inside but seems more like a grab and go type spot.

First time here! Ambiance- it's definitely an older store front. There's I believe a couple tables and some chairs. Atmosphere- it's a little hole in the wall, the staff are friendly and they seem to work pretty hard to put our fast and friendly service to customers. They're also just super sweet! The gal that helped us was nice! Price- it's pretty decent. They have an assortment of donuts to pick from, soda to drink, milk with other flavored milk. I tried their maple bar- it was so good! It had a great ratio of sweet and savory. The gal had just put fresh maple frosting on it so I literally ate the whole donut while getting into the car- it was that good. Probably the best one I've had ever! I'd pick them over Voodoo 100% Thanks again!

Yummy, crispy and chewy at the same time, and oh so fresh. First time here. I'll be back, Joe.

I bought a cherry and an apple fritter. They were so good, as they always are. Love Joe's.

Best maple bars around. Lines are usually really long in the winter with all the mountain travel so get there early or late.

Joe's has great donuts and fair prices. Worth the stop in Sandy on your way to ski or hike on Mt Hood.

Pip's one of those places that makes Portland feel like Portland. This beloved local institution…read morehas earned their reputation through their delicious donuts, but also a commitment to community over competition. They offer both donuts and chai. For me, the star of the show is the donuts. These delectable morsels are crafted in front of you so they come out fresh and hot. There are a variety of flavors and I've heard whispers of a secret menu... Check their Instagram for more info there. While I do gravitate towards the donuts first, I know they are also famous for their chai. So if you are a chai fan don't skip that option here. I just had a chance to interact with their mobile food truck at an event, which was such a fun aspect to the overall event. I got a quad of donuts and a chocolatey chai! Also I will say this: Pip's offers a free birthday dozen, which is incredibly generous gift. My birthday falls around the holidays so I usually can't make it in, but I want to be clear that I have absolutely zero complaints about that. Adults, especially, should never grumble about not receiving a generous freebie. The fact that they offer it at all speaks volumes about the kind of business they are!

Portland trip pt II featuring Pip's…read more Boyfriend and I visited Pip's before our flight back to LA. We've had pretty much every popular sugary and carby donut that Portland has to offer. A friend of mine recommended Pip's for their bite sized donuts and chai. We came at a right time by waking up early enough to beat the crowd. Service was pretty solid here and the menu is easy to read. Upon seating, they made a whoopsie by giving me a heated chai, but I can overlook that since they gave us an extra donut :) We got brownie butter, cinnamon sugar, and raw honey + salt to share. I got the King and I (made dirty) for my own because I love pandan. They put a lot of care into their product and it definitely shows. Chai was spectacular and donuts were delicious. I'm returning!
