I had been going to the same stylist (in New York) for over 15 years. Nice experience with the super friendly staff. They bleached and toned my hair and it still looked heathy. Did I wonderful hair cut for me and my boyfriend. Ask for Deanna she will do anything you want! Nail tech is very sweet and talented. Also a good experience with the eyebrow waxing, very clean. They have free wifi, coffee, and wine. My first time at Strands Salon was amazing so of course I was returning. The gentleman that did my hair last time wasn't available and with some important events coming up in my life my grays needed a cover, refresh on my highlights and my clean Bob needed about an inch cut off, so I went ahead with a different stylist. Well I walked out with the worst butchered haircut I think I've ever had in my life. My pretty blonde highlights I had are now a bright gold orange and the stylist called it like a baylage which isn't what I asked for. I've cried and cried and with butchered so short ( about 3 inches off back look like I took scissors myself to it and played chopping game) and brassy hair I'll have to find a place to fix because I will never be returning to Strands. It can't really be fixed because my hair is literally so short I can't even use my round brush on it. I walked out of the salon and felt like a complete disaster. Hair is so important to me and I will pay whatever the amount to have healthy looking beautiful hair. I'm writing this just warning anyone going there to stop your stylist if you are worried. I should've spoke up when she was chopping away because I had a feeling it was going to be awful. I've never cried over my hair before but I guess first time for everything. I gave three stars because people are nice, it's clean and I did get a awesome cut by a previous stylist there and the stylist that did my hair was nice but maybe didn't understand my interpretation of a clean bob. read more

Im not sure where to start..... My first phone call to the salon, I was greeted by Robin. Immediately she felt warm and caring as I was in "melt down mode" over a few bad cuts and color (from previous salons). I was desperate to find someone that would actually listen to me and cared. Robin listened to me ramble and said she had just the person to book an appointment with. I went to my appointment, which was with Deanna. She took her time with me, wanted to know my concerns and my likes regarding style etc. I had several photos of similar cuts that I liked and we chose to go with a "mix" of two cuts. I couldnt be happier with my hair and am scheduled to go in a few weeks, for highlights. The salon is clean and tastefully decorated. ALL staff I encountered were very friendly. Kristin is the girl to go to for ANY hair request! Each time I leave from an appointment with Kristin, several people have stopped to ask me who does my hair or commented on the beauty and healthy shine. I have people at work who have switched to Strands Salon to get booked with Kristin but now it's hard to get a slot open with her . Kari does as much as an awesome job also. None of the employees try to do hard sales or push ideas /products on you which is nice and each client is even offered wine to relax. I initially came here with a monthly local flyer coupon and recommendation from a friend. Boy was I happy to find this place, and I have been coming here for haircuts ever since. I get my hair cut by Steve and he does an awesome job. My hair can be trouble sometimes for hairstylist because my hair is fine/mid-coarseness but dense, but Steve manages it well. He patiently listens to what I want and provides advice when solicited. My husband is Asian, so his hair also brings a new challenge and Steve does a great job with that too. The shop is modern and clean. They have a lot of other services (manicures and pedicures), but I have yet to take them up on any of those. A great feature of this shop is that you can schedule, cancel, and change your appointments online. For pricing, compared to other places this place is a little more costly, hence four stars rather than five stars. Still, they do a great job and I will certainly become a regular. read more

I got a coupon deal for here and have just kept going back. I see Jandelyn every month for my color. I keep going back because she listens to exactly what I want and never pushes. She is really easy to talk to and my hair always looks great. The salon itself is not bad, but really needs some improvements. I feel sometimes like it is a giant space and it is lacking in several ways. It would be nice to have some music and a little bit more of a welcome. There is never anyone up front at the desk that I usually just walk back and sit on the couch. There needs to be more people there working because it is usually hectic The rewards program needs some work. Despite me going once a month it will take me around 2 years I guess to earn a bottle of shampoo. I have participated in much better rewards programs so for me that is a downside. I would love to see them add in some discounts for regular appointments. I have a monthly appointment for a color touchup and possibly a trim if needed. I would love it once in a while to include a free manicure or something as a little extra for being a monthly client. Update: No longer go here. Do not want to go into details. read more

This is an extremely posh upscale salon for this area. Steve, the owner gets my hair exactly how I want it. I have never had a stylist as good!!!ever!! He makes sure the other stylist do your hair just as well or he will fix it. All of this at very reasonable prices. 5 stars is not enough..I have been to 5 different stylist over the last 20 yesrs and they all were highly recommended, but Strandz tops them all. I got a coupon to come for a new mama cut and color. While I appreciate the deal ($39.99 for both) in the end I got what I paid for. The stylist was very young and kept pulling my hair while combing it, brushing it, and washing it and I even felt some pull out. The color she chose was wrong--as when I got home and washed it, I ended up with hair in three different colors! Lighter on top, dark in the middle, and red on the ends. She also did a sloppy job with it and I found a lot of grey hairs not covered or only partially covered. They had some kind of machine that supposedly cut the process time in half, but it obviously did not work. Also, where I showed pictures of rather layered cuts, once I washed my hair, it really turned out to be cut into nothing other than a long bob. read more
