I called just for a haircut and they gave me an appointment for a little bit later the same day which surprised me but I was pleased. They said the price was $45 which is much cheaper than what I pay where I live. The issue is that the girl that cut my hair is just learning ( therefore the price I assume) I could have someone at home do my haircut. I don't mind someone learning but another senior person at the salon should have come to review and show this girl how to do it better, so right now I'm still in need of a good haircut and out of $55 with the tip. Just beware.

If you've ever gotten a haircut that looked OK when you left the salon, but the next day after your…read moremorning shower, you wonder who took a weed whacker to your hair, you must have been to the Clubhouse. When I walked in, I questioned how this haircut would be and was greeted by a big black dog. There was no personal interaction for 5 minutes other than the dog checking me out. Finally, someone came out and showed me to a chair. When I sat down, the stylist looked nothing like her picture on the website, and I had to ask her name, as she didn't introduce herself. When she asked what I wanted (my hair has been growing for 2 1/2 years), I said one of the reasons I came there was because they emphasized that, " We are men's haircutting specialists, so we will talk you through everything without you having to "ask for directions." I mentioned that I liked Jeff Bridges' hair, but she had no idea who he was. I showed a picture, and away we went. As she was cutting, two other men were getting their hair cut across the shop. The noise level of the other stylists was very high and shrill. Loud (and I'm hard of hearing and had my aids out), laced with profanity (Lots of F words), and rambling from one that seemed as if she were on speed. Very unprofessional. I paid for The Works, not at all worth it, as I didn't get the hot towel or the "relaxing neck massage." The " scalp massage, topping it off with a hot steamed towel" they advertise as part of The Works never happened. I was also surprised that no after-shave lotion or power was applied after the neck shave. I knew later that I had a shave. At one point, the right side of my head looked OK. It was the right length, but the left was much shorter. So, unfortunately, she cut the right side shorter. The back was much shorter than the pictures, and now, with my longer sides, shorter back, and no layering, it looks like I was taking a nap in the yard when the weed whacker was in use. It was the worst $131 I've ever spent. Yeah, I tipped the girl because I'm a nice guy, but they most definitely are not what you see on the website. They didn't even offer me a beer. The one good thing is that my hair will grow back.

The receptionist called and told me that I had to pay full price which is $270. She said that Mary Lea didn't have any more appointments but I guess I would have had to pay another $270 if she reschedule me anyway. I am in tears. I had taken my daughter to Colleen for quite a while years ago and really liked her and she did a great job. This appointment was with Mary Lea. I can't get my hair cut or colored at this point because I just gave them $270. Please be careful. I will never go her again. Obviously.

For it to lay nicely and feel good it's not just a pair of scissors doing the work. Yadira listened to what I wanted for my cut. My hair feels so fresh and lays beautifully imo. I don't love the way the phones are answered. I wasn't sure if it was ai or a real person. Felt very scripted. No shade towards Alkali it's a beautiful salon and I'm sooo happy with my cut. Just an observation. Id prefer a more comfy/relaxed phone call. So glad I don't judge a book by its cover. Yadira was so easy to talk to. Bonding over books and com coms. Made it easy to spend an hour with someone I've never met. But, most importantly she did a great job! My hair feels and looks so good!
