Please fine fellows do outstanding work. They fixed four of my guitars and a bass and all of them play very well. They are familiar with Fender offsets like Jaguars and Jazzmasters, and they really set those up great. Many places who are good with other styles don't understand these guitars. I play my dad's old Axe from the 80's and I don't think it had ever been in for a checkup in the last three decades. I recently got the fretwork fixed, the action lowered, and the pickup wiring replaced, and now it's playing like a beast! I didn't realize how much smoothness I was missing. I don't usually write reviews, but the service I got from this guy was amazing. My beloved acoustic guitar (that I purchased used some time ago) developed a major problem with its bridge. I was fearful of this being an expensive thing to fix. After talking to Benjamin for just a few minutes he's totally set me at ease that this is an easy repair for him, and, not only that, he quotes me a price well below what I expected after doing some online research and calling around. Go to pick my guitar up a few days later and Benjamin is curious where I had previous work done. Reason being, once he had started working on my guitar he found a series of quick fixes hidden away where most people, including the people who retail used instruments, wouldn't likely find them. I'm starting to get worried about the longevity and safety of both my guitar and monthly budget, when he hits me with it: I only owe him the price he originally quoted me because a) he hates to go back on a quote and b) he said he actually had fun trying to figure out the thought process of whatever joker had previously restored my guitar. My husband is a full time musician, and when his banjo was badly damaged in a fall, he was looking at possibly losing a very lucrative gig if it wasn't fixed fast. Benjamin understood the situation and put all of his attention on repairing the banjo immediately. Benjamin fixed my husband's banjo in less than 20 minutes for next to nothing. He stopped what he was doing and focused completely on our emergency. Within minutes he had replaced the broken peg (he had a match on hand!!), untwisted the neck, pulled back the action and tightened the rods - all while we waited! Benjamin must have sold his soul to the devil. This is the only explanation I can come up with for why he is as good as he is. I brought my my American Tele and American Strat in for a setup. Ben walked me through the process - explaining how and WHY he was doing what he was doing. Both my guitars hadn't been set up in YEARS. I tinkered with it myself here and there...and boy could he tell! He pointed out a lot of problems with my two guitars. Before I brought it in - i knew something was off. I hadn't been playing well or clean. Something was wrong. Brought to Ben based off these reviews - and I am happy I did. Not only did he set it up perfectly - now I am playing better and smoother. I will be bringing him my semi-hollow VERY soon. I'm a part-time musician, and I've recently expanded into stringed instruments. Unfortunately, I'm left-handed, which makes buying and using strings difficult or expensive. I was gifted a ukelele that I needed restrung for a lefty, so I tried here. Product: From what I can tell, these guys fix up stringed instruments, mainly guitars. I suppose they manufacture as well, but I don't recall. (no rating) Service: Two guys working. I suppose they are the owner-operators. Super-friendly, and they took me in without an appointment and helped me immediately. It took a few short moments, and my uke was restrung and tuned to perfection. I was really taken aback when I was not charged (they have no idea I did Yelp, so this review is not a result of the freebee). I can't say to expect such behavior from them regularly, but I had to make note of it. 5 stars Facilities: The building is rather non-descript in the Riverbend. You have to look for it to find it. There's a small sign. Inside, the place is all business. Don't expect a place to sit, just a place to have your "axe" fixed up. I'm not even sure they regularly see people inside. It was the instrument version of an auto shop. 4 stars Overall: Go here if you need a stringed instrument fixed up. You won't be disappointed. 5 stars. read more

I brought 6 of my ukuleles in to get their strings upgraded. Some of them are not real expensive (beginner ukes) so they needed some help with the sound. In addition, I needed the action adjusted because I have neuropathy in my fingers and it is sometimes hard to hold the strings down. It took only one day and they were ready! And, they all sound a 100x better. Best of all, they are so much easier for me to play. I'm a fairly new uke player and have been teaching myself, but now I am able to play some chords that were completely impossible before and fingerstyle is no longer out of my reach. It makes playing so much more fun! PS the customer service was way better than I expected. I was a little intimidated coming in with my "pretend" instruments and they immediately put me at ease and patiently answered all my questions. Great place and I highly recommend them. read more

Benjamin took my plain, vanilla wallflower of an acoustic guitar and transformed it into a show-stopper. This guy knows his stuff. Under the premise that you'll get more bang for your buck buying a cheap guitar and then customizing it to fit your needs, I picked up a low-end Taylor from a local music store and brought it to Benji to work his magic. he talked to me about my playing style and what I was looking for and then went to work. After Benji leveled the frets, put in a custom saddle and nut, and tuned it up, it plays like a dream. Seriously, everyone who picks up this guitar says the same thing: "I never really thought much of Taylors, but this guitar sounds amazing!"
