I went here on my lunch break. Ordered a Cesar salad and when I got back to work the Cesar salad only had some croutons and iceberg lettuce. I called and told the owner I was upset because it was missing the Parmesan cheese. He immediately tells me it's in the bag and I nicely tell him no it's not. I'm just upset my lunch is 30 min and he said I'll drive the Parmesan to you (kind of weird) but ok. I'm just down the street. He never showed up. Never apologized or tried to make it right. I've been here three or four times now for the lunch buffet which is more than I've been to any other buffet in the area which seems like I must like the place a bit haha. Their salad bar is really good and always fresh. The pizza is good and understated. Not sure how to describe it. The crust isn't thick or thin, and is just the kind of pizza that I find to be comforting. They usually have a few pizza options available as well as garlic knot type things. No complaints. Not very satisfied with our dinner tonight. My husband ordered an Italian sub and it was quite pitiful looking. Not anything like an Italian sub should look like. Also I had two separate orders of wings and the employee just decided to mix them together in one box. The two orders were going to two separate locations so that just caused us an inconvenience. Two thumbs up. I have not had Straw Hat pizza in over 10 years. While I do find Visalia lacks quality pizza places, Straw Hat should not be overlooked. The crust was good, toppings were plentiful, and the sauce was just right. We ordered thru A delivery service, maybe it was DoorDash and it arrived to my house 40 minutes after I placed the order. My wife and kids liked the pizza as well. I found that the next day the pizza also reheated well, it wasn't soggy crust or anything. The pizza is very delicious food. The service took just a few minutes since we used grub hub as delivery service. The ambiance is very nice.

I haven't even tried the pizza & this was my first time coming to this location. CAROL was SO rude. I was disgusted at how inconvenient it was for us to ask for red pepper and parmesan. Ordered a small 10" 1 topping pizza (pepperoni), a Pastrami sandwich and bacon cheese groovy twists (3 piece) for an appetizer with 2 regular sodas. I originally asked for garlic Parmesan wings but they only had buffalo available. The total came to $27. I gave $30 tip included. The sandwich came first and when it arrived I was wondering where the meat was on the sandwich. I am certain there was only one or two VERY thin slices of pastrami. I was confused because I just paid $7.00 for this thing and I couldn't figure out why. Wilted romaine, a couple tomato slices and handful of pickles on the side, garnished with mayo and mustard packets. The pizza came next and it was fine but the appetizer groovy twist things came out last. 3 pieces of dough with a sprinkle of chopped bacon and no cheese on them for $4.49. Was it Parmesan cheese? I had the buffet for 8 dollars, and it comes with salad, macaroni salad, potato salad, all you can eat pizza, mojos, garlic bread twists, and the best part is that you can request any pizza that you want to be made! How can you not have the buffet here with all that food!! The Lemon Pepper Chicken pizza is the bomb! Remembered many years ago but closed, reopened discovered by my gift check coupon.

This is a very small location, will seat approximately 40 people. I went during lunch hour (11a-2pm) on Wednesday for the lunch buffet (cost is $8.99 +drink, +tax) the 'buffet' consisted of a salad bar and a rotating food warmer that had four types of pizza (four half-pizzas) and some appetizers. During the 60 minutes (12:15p-1:15p) that I was in the restaurant, they only had three customers, and did not add to or change the pizza on the warming tray. The pizza was 'OK', the salad was 'OK', the appetizers were 'OK', but nothing was special enough to write home about. The Mgr (i.e. only employee seen) was friendly. read more
