He has no experience in doing this type of work. Arrived wearing Air Jordan's and sweat pants, no proper equipment, other than a rented chainsaw and rope to pull the large branches. I used Yelp in addition to Google to find service providers. The majority of the service providers neglected to return my telephone calls after leaving voicemails or replying to my descriptive emails inquiring about obtaining a quote. One service provider told me he was too busy right now and referred me to another company that neglected to show-up for a scheduled appointment for a hardscaping project that I needed done; to say the least, I didn't bother calling that company. Al Taylor, from Sam's Tree Service, came to my home and provided a quote via email. The job included the removal of a pine tree stump that stood about 1.5' above ground, the removal of a birch tree with its stump that stood about 9' High (a previous cut down job performed inadequately since new growth was sprouting from the top and sides), and a bush with its roots that was about 9' high and 6' round. I agreed to Al's reasonable quote via email. The next day, another tree service, that I forgot about came to my home and provided me with a quote that was $10 more than Sam's Tree Service, however, it included filling in the holes that would be left after removing the stumps and bush. I never contemplated this issue since I know nothing about the industry. I told him that I would consider his quote with the other quotes and let him know if I decide to use his company. I immediately emailed Al and discussed the issue with Al who informed me that his quote did not include filling the holes with screened top soil, but would do it for the $10 difference. I agreed to the new terms. His team arrived and easily completed the job. However, they did not fill the holes. I called and left a voicemail indicating that I expected the holes to be filled as agreed upon. I also sent an email with pictures of the holes. Someone from Sam's Tree Service left me a voicemail indicating that they were aware that the holes were not filled in because they did not have screened top soil at the time and would be back to complete the job. The following day, the crew returned and filled the holes. In addition, they filled the track that was dug up by my electrical contractor without my knowledge, which was unexpected, above and beyond their scope of duties. I would highly recommend using Sam's Tree Service for all your tree, stump, and bush services. Their crew does an exceptional and professional service at reasonable rates.
