When a 70 foot tree falls in your yard 11 days after you buy a new house, you panic a little (ok, a lot) bit. When we found ourselves in this situation we put out a request on Yelp for removal. We got a bunch of quotes, and had a few folks come out to the house to look. For full transparency, we were going to go with another company that came to look at our property, however when Dan came to look at the damage he was able to explain what seemed to happen, what their process would be, and how soon they'd be able to accomplish the tree removal for me., it was a no brainer to go with Green Vista. The price Dan quoted was great to remove the downed tree and also remove a huge standing tree that we saw was high risk as well. I had Green Vista come to inspect the trees on our new property. I really appreciated how friendly and knowledgeable their project manager was. He walked me through each tree, told me what kind it was and what maintenance it would need. He didn't try to up-sell me or make more work. He said that most of the trees were fine and wouldn't need to be trimmed for 3-5 years. This was my first time removing a tree and I had no experience in doing it. The tree was located next to the backyard entrance and very close to the house. My real estate agent recommended that I remove the tree since it was close to the foundation. I contacted several tree removal services and green vista and another provider gave the best prices and seemed more legit. I decided to go with green vista and something I liked about them was that they provided only the tree removal service. I had an asphalt paved walkway that needed to be removed for better removal of stump. They mentioned they won't do the walkway removal and it is not their specialty which was a good sign for me. Even though I had to call someone else to do it. My whole experience with green vista went pretty smooth. Initially they came on time to inspect and give me an estimate. Once I accepted the offer they told me they will be back in 2 weeks to remove the tree. During the whole experience, Nico was very responsive and communicated very promptly. Initially they removed the tree and after one week another team came to remove the stump. The only thing that I wish they would do is if they could remove the stump grind but other than that the whole service was very smooth but slow because of the high demand. Great job pruning large dead branches out of a mature tulip poplar and two other trees in a very tight space with other plants and fencing that needed to be carefully avoided. Also removed a smaller dead tree, and had to carry all material a distance through a small gate to the street. The men were very careful not to damage any other vegetation and cleaned up thoroughly. The tree consultant, Nico, who came out to estimate the job was personable and knowledgeable and was able to provide a written estimate same day. Pricing was competitive. We are very pleased Green Vista matched the lowest bid of $3,300. In Jul 2023 they took down our 3.5 story Beach tree that was just 10 yards from our house. We got bids from Green Vista (middle bid), Dad's Tree Service (most costly bid) and G&V Tree service (cheapest bid by $700). Each bidder showed up promptly at the scheduled time and were pleasant and knowledgeable. Green Vista and Dad's provided their bids that day, whereas G&V's bid showed up the next day. We went with Green Vista, because they matched the lowest bid, used the most modern technology, and their arborist, Chris Ewing, was very detailed, explaining about their robotic chainsaw crane, how they even put pads down to protect the grass and how they do a very thorough cleanup, even cleaning the roof of twigs and leaves. read more

Green Vista removed my dying 60-100 year old Silver Maple. Daniel the estimator was very knowledgeable. I got estimates from 5 well known companies and Green Vista was very competitive in price. They were not the lowest nor the highest. But for their level of expertise and what I had heard about them, the price was just right. They were able to come down a bit in price for me to make the final decision to go with them. Timing for getting on the schedule was very reasonable for summer work. The tree was removed while we were on vacation which I had mixed feelings about. One the one hand, I didn't have to be there to be stressed out and micromanage imaginary anticipated issues! But on the other hand, I had no idea what was happening at my house with large heavy machinery in very close proximity to my house. My worries were unfounded! Upon returning home from our vacation, the only indication that any work had been done at all was the fact that there was no longer a tree! The back yard where the tree had been, and the front yard where the heavy machinery had been was all cleaned up. I was very pleased with the outcome. I am having Green Vista give me estimates on trimming and deadwooding the remaining trees on my property since I was so happy with the work they did. There were 2 minor things which do not warrant a reduction in stars. They had to move the deck furniture, and did not put it back in place. I spoke to Daniel about this. They are supposed to return all furniture. I'm guessing they were so done for the day having removed such a large tree, that they cleaned up the yard and left, forgetting to return the furniture. The only other minor thing is that the heavy equipment left "burn" marks on the grass. I'm anticipating that with rain and time, the grass will recover. My wife and I have lived in the same house for 35 years, and have needed lots of tree work done over that time. And none of the companies we have contracted with have impressed us as much as Green Vista. We had them remove a dying oak -- Wiley explained how he could tell that the tree was in bad shape -- and extensively trim two other oaks so that they would not be unbalanced, since most of the biggest branches were all on one side. They also trimmed a large maple tree and cut off some branches from a dogwood that were hanging over the power line. A large crew (at least 8 workers, maybe more) were at it from 8:30 until about 5:30 -- and a couple other guys came back a few days later to grind the stump. They were extremely hard-working, and meticulous about cleaning up -- even blowing out all the material that had gotten into one gutter on our house. (Heck, they even out their water bottles in the recycling bin.) There was some damage to the lawn around the stump, but it was inevitable when some of the pieces of the tree they took down must have weighed hundreds of pounds. Finally, I can't praise Wiley's communications skills enough. He responded to emails almost instantly, and kept us informed every step of the way. read more
