We called five people for a quote, got two responses and went with Lopez because he was by far the most reasonable. There was a little mixup on the day he was supposed to come take the tree down, but we quickly got it straightened out and he came the very next day. I had one big oak & one big maple to prune and one dead maple to remove. I asked for quotes from 9 companies. Alvaro from LTS was the only company who brought a laser pointer and showed me which branches he will remove and what will be done in detail. I still waited all my quotes to come in. I was reluctant to chose Lopez because I like trees and I was a little bit concerned they don't have certified arborist. Alvaro assured me he had a lot of experience and talking to him in person, I inclined to believe him. Plus, 5 star reviews by a lot of people say something. Ultimately, I picked Lopez because Alvaro works with me to get a personal touch on every single branches, I didn't have a good impression of other companies with certified arborists who weren't personable but just sent me standard quotes, the certified arborists might not accept my inputs, & Alvaro's quote came in the lowest (while having 5 star on Yelp by 4 times more people). Lopez has all the advanced equipment to get the work done properly. They also have enough crew member so the job was done in a few hours. I agreed with most branches suggested to be remove and added some of my own input. No BS. It was done pleasantly. I was worried for my lawn damage. They used ropes to tie to branches so they didn't free fall hard. For the tree removal, they used 3'x6' boards for the stump grinder with metal threads. There was little to no damage. I'd definitely recommend Lopez TS and plan to use them for future services. I can't really guarantee certified arborists would have done any better here. His reviews speak for themselves. They worked 4 1/2 hours nonstop until the job was finishes. The cleanup work was spotless. We are thrilled with the outcome; Unfortunately, one bird house was knocked down from one tree accidentally. Things happen but what followed impressed me more than I can say. This Bluebird box in our backyard had my flying squirrel in it. Your men took the time to take the birdhouse away from danger, covered the hole to keep her in until the work was done. Then I watched as they gently encouraged her to leave the house so they could put the house back on the tree. These men went above and beyond caring for wildlife. I first heard of Lopez Tree Services through neighbors who strongly recommended them. Based on that alone, I requested an estimate--they weren't the cheapest or the most expensive. It took a bit of back-and-forth to schedule the estimate but once it happened, he was prompt, gave me an approximate time frame. Ultimately, as soon as they had an opening, they called and came and within an hour had taken the tree down. They were well-prepared, safe, and conscientious of our house, the shed, fence, and everything else around to ensure there was no risk of damage to anything. The tree itself wasn't terribly big but I was very impressed by their efficiency and also how clean they left the space when they were done. They accept check (preferred), Zelle, and credit card (on which they'll add a fee to the overall price).
