HOWEVER- I arrived at the final walkthrough at the scheduled time, and they were still not done clearing out their supplies. This was okay and I assumed more work would be done. When I returned to my home later that day I was appalled. There was brown liquid spilled on the cabinets and floors, paint spilled on the floors, stairs & countertops, outlet covers missing (still not found), painter's tape still stuck to the walls & baseboards, and sunflower seeds littered across EVERY single floor in the house (including the in the carpet and the bathtub). I am shocked at the way the house was left and how sloppy this was. This was not the condition that it was supposed to be left in. I had a showing the next morning so had to spend over 3 hours cleaning it. I contacted the manager about it and received a $275 discount. They did offer to come back over and "take care of these items" but I had no time to let them come back so I had to take care of it myself. For how much I paid to for this to be done I expected way more from this company. I will not be using this company again.

Once our Homeowners Association approved the project, Elk Horn Painting was ready to begin. The crew was professional, courteous, and punctual throughout the entire process. They arrived within the scheduled time each day, always notified me when they arrived so I could bring my dogs inside, and immediately got to work. One thing I particularly appreciated was that the crew never appeared rushed. Instead, they took the time to ensure the job was done correctly. There were no paint drips on the sidewalks, porch, or other concrete surfaces, and they thoroughly cleaned up all masking materials when the project was completed. The trim lines were clean and straight, demonstrating excellent attention to detail. The crew also repaired siding on my storage shed that had pulled away from the frame, explaining that making such repairs is part of their standard operating procedure. As a result, the shed looks brand new. During the final walkthrough, the crew willingly addressed every item my wife and I identified, touching up anything we felt needed additional attention. The finished project looks outstanding. The siding, trim, doors, and shed all look superb, and the work was completed in a timely manner. Josh who provided the initial estimate made good recommendation regarding paint sheen for the different surface types, and asked several questions about things I had not even thought of such as front and back colors for doors.. While we were only using three colors, due to the different sheens for concrete walls, wallboard, and door trim, we ended up with 7 different paints. Scheduling was easy and they helped accommodate our availability. When the painters came in to do the work they were friendly, knowledgeable and took the time to understand which paints were to be used where. They did an excellent job; multiple coats of paint for rooms that went from dark gray to a neutral taupe and caulked the floorboards where necessary and filled in scrapes and picture holes where we needed it. The job took a couple days longer than expected but such is life when you're working with a lot of sq ft and simultaneously just had the floors refinished. The team was *incredibly thorough* with protecting the floors, walls, and other areas that weren't being painted. All of their prep work was top notch. The trim and baseboards came out gorgeous. And the rooms we had painted look incredible. It was a little more expensive than a couple other quotes, but I am very happy and feel like it was money well spent for very professional work. Attached photos are just two rooms, the green room they painted and did the baseboards. But they did work in 8-12 rooms in our house depending on how you count and every single one turned out great.

At 8:00 AM on September 21, 2020, a Golden Painting work crew began removing paint chips from my…read morehouse to prepare it for exterior painting. The three person crew quit work at 10:45 AM. When the work crew returned the next day, I showed the owner of Golden Painting, Tony Moss, a couple areas on the house that needed considerably more prep work. Mr. Moss said they were planning to do more scraping, which made me wonder why they stopped working at 10:45 AM the day before. Then, I heard Mr. Moss telling his work crew foreman about shortcuts that could be taken to save time on the job. At that point, I lost confidence in the quality of job Golden Painting would do, so I told Mr. Moss to stop work and that I would pay him for the work that had already been done. Mr. Moss billed me at a rate of $60/hour for each of his three laborers, though the average hourly pay for a construction laborer in the Denver area was $17.96, and $19.48 for painters. Rounding up to three hours of work and $20 for painters, in total, Mr. Moss charged me $340 dollars more than is the average charge. Before Mr. Moss left my house, I pointed out that someone on his work crew had been overly aggressive while scraping and had put gouges in one of my wooden garage door jambs. I asked Mr. Moss to either repair the damage or pay for replacing the jamb (wooden post). Mr. Moss refused to pay for repairing the damage until I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. The lowest rating that Yelp allows is one star. Though I cannot recommend Golden Painting, I am sure there are other painting companies doing business that would be worst then Golden Painting; therefore, I gave Golden Painting a two star rating.
