As experienced property owners, we are far from novice homeowners. We own multiple homes and invest significant time and resources to keep them updated and maintained to modern standards. These solicitations are insulting for two reasons. First, they present a sight-unseen offer that is dramatically below market value. Second, they demonstrate a lack of even the most basic due diligence. The property deed is held jointly by two owners, yet the mailing was addressed only to the male owner. Receiving a lowball offer is offensive enough; receiving one that ignores the legal ownership of the property is even more discourteous. The combination of an inadequately researched solicitation and a substantially undervalued offer reflects poorly on the sender and suggests little regard for the homeowners being contacted.
