Stumbled across St Johns. Ironically I used to attend St Johns back in the 90s. Sounds like nothing has changed. At the time I was the ONLY black student in the entire school. k-8. I felt like more of an attraction than anything. Definitely felt like the teachers were all harder on me than my peers. Mind you, I have never been a troubled kid, nor a bad student. I was considering allowing my children to go there but thanks to Lady L, I think I will pay more for another school rather than subject them to the type of scrutiny and racism I endured while there.

If you are a minority, specifically a Black person, you and your child would not be treated like other races. Their rules are broken for "non-Blacks" but a Black person is expected to follow them at all times. You and your child would be made to feel uncomfortable and bringing the issue to the staff only makes you feel more ostracized. I have been strongly considering sending my daughter back to public school. They claim to be more advanced in their studies than a public school, but my daughter is reading a book that she read in Public School three years ago. I am so disappointed in myself for choosing this school. The way that I feel treated by them is not against the law, but I do feel that it is a moral issue. Is this really the Catholic faith?
