They saw my disappointment and only charged me the diagnostic fee. I would not hesitate to take a computer there again for a repair. My desktop went down in the middle of the night (1:30 am) on a Saturday night. I had 45 pages done…read moreout of what ended up being a 70 page report that I had to present Monday morning at 9:30. I called and woke Nick up at 5:30 am Sunday morning. He asked if I could be there before 8. I let him know my Dell Workstation is awfully heavy and I'm a bicycler, not a driver. He was at my house before 6:30. He listened to my machine chirp and squeal and let me know that my hard drive was finished. He had a couple with him, but both were much larger than the 500 gb that I'd been using. He explained that one could never have too much storage. He installed 2 2tb hard drives. After he did a clean install of Windows 10 using my product key, he was able to recover 99% of the bad drive. He set one drive as a backup and the other as the main drive. I asked him if an SSD would boot and run faster. He said it definitely would. He said I might be able to shave 30-45 seconds off the boot time. He also said I should hope for a ten year lifespan, expect 7-8 (because of the finite number of writes before degradation) and if I planned on doing video editing which I do, then if I got 5 years service, he'd be surprised. It's a little slower and a wee bit louder, but the external SSD (Samsung) I bought 3 months later is already in a landfill. I was glad I found Nick's when I needed someone to fix my Dell T7810 without delay. The work was done right, quickly, and reasonably priced. I've used them several times since and I've always been completely satisfied.
