I joined when the gym first opened and I think that it was cleaner then. It still is clean and some of the workers work very hard and are always there. However, often times I will find that the bathrooms or showers are dirty. This was usually a problem when I used to go at night but I also noticed it in the morning once. I love that the steam room is very clean and that they close it to clean it. The pools are really clean too. I dislike that instead of opening the door sometimes the valet guys will just stand there talking with one another. I get it they're young but the least they could do is acknowledge you and attempt to open the door. Sometimes the front desk people say goodbye, other times they don't. Overall, the workers are really kind and the people here are really kind. I also don't like how crowded it gets around 5-7pm. I try to avoid that time. I wish they had made the gym multiple floors when they opened it. I feel as though they'll probably have to expand it in the future or open another one. The reason I love coming to this gym is because of the great classes they offer. The app is very helpful and shows classes throughout the day. Linda is an amazing yoga instructor. When I went to lifetime I'd pay for yoga and the gym separately because I didn't like their classes but here the instructors are all great. I also really like Erica. The cycling classes are great too. I had Alie and she made it really fun and the music was really good too!

I'm so happy I left this gym! :) terrible rude customer service, overpriced for no reason. I'm glad…read moreto say I'm a member at lifetime fitness which offers better quality for better pricing. Highly don't recommend equinox.

I recently visited a Life Time in Coral Cables while on vacation had an incredible experience. As a…read moreresult of the amazing experience at the Coral Gables location, I decided to make visiting Life Time a monthly occasion for me until I commit to a membership. I visited the Life Time location in Bloomfield, Michigan on Saturday, July 8th for a day of massages and relaxation. A friend purchased massages for us both to enjoy. As I waited on the friend, I inquired on the timing of the massages as I was under the impression massages were 30 mins. As an fyi, timing wasn't an issue and didnt mind that the friend's massage went over time. I only inquired on the timing as I planned to participate in another activity and didn't want to miss the masseuse (Cassie) if I ventured off to do another activity. Cassie was absolutely wonderful by the way. The receptionist at the front desk of the spa (I did not get her name however she has two tone hair that appears to be gray and purple) started to speak to me in slang when answering my question. She stated that my friend booked two sessions and "that's all she can tell me" and "that's all she knows" while throwing up hand gestures. As I tried to explain to her that there is 2 of us and both sessions are 1 of each, she just kept going back and forth with me while speaking in slang and odd hand gestures. I obviously took the way she spoke to me as her having a preconceived notion about me. The woman was aggressive and she refused to speak to me in proper English, yet I observed her behavior before and after the encounter and she miraculously became professional again towards other clients. I feel that her mannerisms towards me were hostile, insulting and felt she was mocking me as I am a woman of color. Cassie (masseuse) took me back after the encounter and I confided in her. She helped me relax and was the best part of this entire ordeal. Also, judging from other reviews on Google, mistreatment due to ethnicity seems to be the norm at this location. I will do everything I can to get the word out about this location and the receptionist I had the displeasure of interacting with. I only wished I would have recorded the incident. Her actions towards me were not only unprovoked, but aggressive, evil and hateful. My friend has been a LifeTime member for years and she introduced me to the gym and I am interested in becoming a member as a result. It saddens me that an employee can practice micro-aggressions on paying customers, member or not. Very disappointing and hurtful to say the least. I only hope the spa employee does not treat any unsuspecting guests the same way. To harbor hatred for a demographic and act on it with aggression is unacceptable especially when this employee represents Life Time as a brand.

Thanks to my Aunt De-De and Uncle Warren, I was talked into getting up pretty early last Saturday…read moremorning to meet them for a workout at Art of Strength. I didn't know what to expect other than an intense workout, and that's exactly what I received! The class I attended was split into two smaller groups. One went with Mike and one with Peter. I went with Peter and my workout included cardio (with a stationary bike, rowing machine, ski machine, and jumping jacks), lunges, upper body using a medicine ball and ropes, and a ton of squats. I liked how we kept switching exercises so I didn't get bored at all. I also liked that Peter took into account injuries of those in our group and gave them alternative exercises that were right for their situation... trainers / instructors don't always do that. The folks in Mike's group (including my aunt, uncle, cousin, brother, and a few friends) were all out of breath and dripping sweat by the end of their workout. I could tell that Mike's reputation is to be tough and kind of a smart-ass, but it works. He's a huge motivator for those in the gym. I loved the energy at AOS and I would totally workout here if I lived in Michigan full time. I was a little nervous after the workout that I'd be too sore to stand up at my sister's wedding that evening, but I felt great and had a fabulous time at the wedding... Thanks again to Peter for the workout and to Aunt De-De for motivating me to get my ass to AOS that morning!
