I was there about 10 minutes and no one even acknowledged me. I left and went to the Anytime Fitness in Apollo Beach. I had been a member there many years ago. I walked in the door and within a couple minutes I was greeted, escorted into the office and began my re-entry process. Due to some of my medical issues I was assigned to Gavin and began my workout 4 weeks ago. Gavin actually listens to you and takes all of the issues into consideration when he establishes your workout plan. He has a masters in exercise and explains everything that he has you do and encourages you every step of the way. He also has a masters in nutrition and has me on a balanced eating plan, reducing my carbs and sugars. I am beginning to see the successes as I am developing arm muscles as well as losing enough inches to decrease my dress size by 2. I have lost 13 pounds this first month. Gavin is worth his weight in gold in encouragement and from my successes so far. Please go to Anytime Fitness in Apollo Beach. They actually care about your success.

I've tried to do after 5pm on a weekday and it's packed wall to wall. The weekends are also a great time to come. When signing up for a trainer, if you choose to use, do what's comfortable to YOU! I recommend Claudia. She's extremely efficient and is great at maximizing your time to get the best results.

Clean equipment and clean bathrooms etc. I don't engage with staff at all really unless I bring a guest and they have to drop their ID at the desk to get in but they're always pretty friendly. The other day (2/16) we did buy an energy drink after checking in and the entire interaction the staff member not only never smiled but I don't think said a single word? Didn't make my experience any worse...but it was a weird and notable experience for us. Might've just been having a bad day so I don't hold it against them. I'm not a body builder by any means so the gym does what I need it to but when I come with someone who works out a lot and with more equipment, they noted there's not a good variety of back machines. My main complaint is about the space between machines for walking. They're juuuuust a bit too small to be appropriate to walk by if someone's using a machine. Idk if they mean for you not to walk between the machines but when I'm coming out from upstairs, I b line to the exit so I have to walk between different machines and if there's someone working out on it, it's too close for comfort. Maybe you're only supposed to walk on the sides like by lockers or the treadmills though. One other thing I would love is if there was a designated stretch zone. Crunch st Pete has the turf in a room where people can do sled pulls etc and then there's a little square of turf outside meant for stretching. I love that because stretching is a big part of my time at the gym and I don't have much space for it if people are upstairs doing HIIT or whatever on the turf. I feel bad for taking up space. Most of the time the AC and temp is good in here but two times now I've come and it's humiddddd. And it's not from being crowded. I also do love the switch to wipes versus paper towels and spray as it's much more efficient!

Those with membership all seem nice, I've gotten to make a lot of new friends there. They offer daycare, even a parents night out on either a friday or saturday out the month. I highly recommended OJ for Zumba on Tuesday(outside, which is kind of crazy for summertime in FL) and Thursday(inside) afternoon - she's super high energy and does a more modern zumba with great latin songs and a few hiphop/r&b. UJam is amazing if you love hip hop, pop, and r&b from all around the world. Heather is amazing and gives modifications for those with injuries such a knee issues. She's your hype girl. Rachel is great for Yoga. She doesn't just appropriate the practice, she explains and goes into detail and you'll actually learn a lot. She also does breathwork the last part of the class with meditation after. Bobbi is also great for yoga and pilates. You can check in on the app, or somehow I've gotten my membership pass in my Apple Wallet which is also convenient.
