We had an inspection completed in February of 2025 for a home we purchased in June. The report from Striler had a few issues which we reviewed with the sellers and were either corrected or allotted monies to correct once the sale went through. After we moved in, the nightmare began. It is now September, and we are still fixing all of the items missed by the inspector. It started with the windows that cannot be opened at all, they are misaligned and are unopenable. On top of that there were storm windows screwed into the molding on the outside trim that were stripped and had to be ripped off of the house to remove them. There were also two windows missing screens and a window in the basement only having plastic on it. We need new windows in 90% of the home. The electrical issues are overwhelming. The report had minor issues, but we decided to have our electrician go through the home and the list is endless with only half being covered by the sellers. Outlets that do are not wired to switches not associated with anything. Next is the basement. I asked the inspector to check the drop ceiling to ensure there were not any rodents. He said it was fine. Today we have exterminators in the house trying to eradicate the infestation. The home has had rodents for years and the drop ceiling is filled with urine, feces, dead and alive rodents. It is overwhelming and was an easy find for the inspector. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The inspector started the inspection before we arrived, rushed through the inspection and all of the items I questioned were not checked as he stated he had done. I asked: Did you open all the windows Do the doors work and lock (there wasn't any keys to 3 of the 4 doors of the home) Outlets not working- only 1 listed in the report Infestation of rodents Gutters clogged with debris and not draining Holes in shingles outside (about 50) from woodpecker Plumbing for washer not to code read more

Chuck has an amazing amount of knowledge and experience. Using an automated "robot", he meticulously inspected the crawlspace under our home and explained every detail as he covered every sqare inch, top and bottom. His knowledge of manufactured homes such as ours is impressive. It was obvious that his expertise covers a lot more, too. I had my home crawl space inspected. Chuck Striler used a robot with a camera to video tape the entire area. He paid special attention to all the critical components. I feel as though no stars are deserved. Maybe I just had a poor inspector. I paid $615.00 dollars for my modular home to be inspected and on my report all comments said handyman. Whatever that means. They missed a huge problem in the house we were buying. The inspector told us the chimney looked great, despite half of it being collapsed and costing us $2,000 to fix. When we reached out to them the response we got was "We don't do chimneys". Don't make the mistake we made in trusting this company. Edit to respond: The fact is your inspector looked up the chimney and said it looked great. Did he not notice that half of it was collapsed because he was rushing through the inspection? Which is why he didn't even stay to inspect the 4th bedroom. Or did he just not care to inform us because he isn't required to? read more

My wife and I were purchasing a home from a family member, and Marc came out to do our inspection. Even though the house was occupied and every room was being utilized, Marc was still able to go through every room and perform the inspection. He was on time, polite, and went through the inspection with me as thoroughly as he could - but since the basement is fully finished, he couldn't comment on all of the "nitty gritty" details of the structure. However, he did put us at ease by explaining what he was looking for on the outside of the interior walls to determine the presence of any major issues happening inside the walls. The home inspection took about an hour and a half. Throughout the inspection, Marc pointed out potential safety hazards both indoors and outdoors (something Marc takes very seriously). That evening, I got an email from him with a detailed report, including photos and numerous comments on over 140 items. I was very impressed with the end result. Worked with Chuck for my very first home inspection, he was thorough, explained everything, had a great nose which is unexpectedly important.. he gave me all my options and was transparent enough for me to recognize a bad deal, he presented all of my options, but it was a bit obvious after Chuck pointed out every flaw in the place. Through a recommendation from a friend who had hired him twice, Chuck came all the way to Lowell, MA to do a condex inspection. I called him Weds and he was available to schedule on Friday! It was a 1300sqft condo but he spent 2.5-3 hours inspecting everything from top to bottom! Knowing we were new homeowners, he took the time to explain everything that he did, major/minor issues, and things to monitor. He took pictures of everything he inspected and provided us with a detailed and comprehensive report within 12 hours. He also provided us with additional information including a handbook. After researching the home inspector my broker suggested, we found a few concerns and decided to find our own. After a voicemail was left asking about his services and availability, Chuck got right back to my boyfriend, answered his questions, reminding him there are no stupid questions and told us he could be available 3 days away. Throughout the inspection, Chuck (and his apprentice Mark) were courteous, friendly, thorough, respectful, and clearly knowledgeable. Unfortunately for us - the house was full of problems and we walked away. I had an inspection with Striler Home Inspection recently on a house my wife and I are purchasing in Holliston. Chuck was wonderful. He was on time and prepared when he got there. During the inspection, he took the time to explain everything to me very carefully and show me everything he was going to note in the report. He took many photos as well. He happily answered any and all question I had and carefully looked at anything I told him I was concerned with. He seemed to have a thorough understanding of all areas of the inspection. We recently had an inspection on a home (over 500sf larger than this one) that we ended up not buying (see my previous review of the "other" home inspector) and this inspection was literally twice as long. That's how much more thorough Chuck was. The inspection report was emailed to me by Chuck later that night. The report impressed me. Everything was color coded (safety issue, maintenance item, things to keep an eye on) so it was easy to make sure you didn't miss anything important. We recently used Striler Home Inspections for an inspection on a house we were purchasing. As first time home buyers, we weren't really sure what to expect but Chuck was extremely helpful during the whole process. We had an offer accepted on a Monday and he was able to get out to the house that Friday, which we really appreciated. He was extremely thorough, taking about 3 hours to go through the entire inside and outside of the house.
