Above all this is Mayfair Pizza & Co. Up a small staircase to the first floor is an unexpected surprise - a huge high ceilinged room which is light, spacious and nicely furnished. The huge windows and glass ceiling allow plenty of light in and the pleasant buzz from people below makes for a lovely atmosphere even when mostly empty (we were eating early due to the theatre at 7pm). The staff were very friendly and sat us down with our menus straight away. Unfortunately we weren't offered water (it was such a hot day and a little stuffy in the restaurant) and when it was brought over on request it was luke warm so we had to ask for ice (twice). As the name suggests this place is allll about pizza and situated in the corner is a massive pizza oven. I didn't fancy pizza so went for their superfoods salad with halloumi but my friend went for the smoky chicken and rocket pizza. We ordered a starter to share; the truffle and mushroom arancini which at £5 for 3 is good value. They have a delicious consistency and the creamy mushroomy truffly flavour is goooood. My main was good with really tasty deep fried halloumi however some of the leaves were a bit wet and there wasn't enough pomegranate, avocado, cauli and beetroot. The pizza was a real let down with a very soggy middle and small bits of chicken that didn't taste smoky at all but tasted like value sandwich chicken. It was piled high with rocket but no other flavour. As a pizza place they should have this down to a tea so this was a real shame. Instead of wine we went for cocktails; Aperol spritz at £6 was great value and the lemon gin fizz was refreshing but a bit sweet. The wine is quite pricey and only one or two are served by the glass. They also serve a carafe which is good if you don't fancy a whole bottle. When I say pricey I meant reasonably pricey however they also have some absolutely ridiculous vintages that cost up to a grand! We were running late so asked them to rush our dessert and bring the bill which they efficiently did. We ordered a strawberry cheesecake to share with basil ice cream side. The ice cream was sooo refreshing but the cheesecake tasted shop bought with a funny texture and a horrid jelly top. There are some great things about this place - service, atmosphere - but the food didn't live up to my expectations especially considering the cost! They also hold pizza classes but I definitely wouldn't be back for this!

I arrived 15 minutes before my partner and the service was a little slow then, I wasn't asked if I wanted a drink until he just arrived. From then on though the service was really good. The food was extremely tasty and portions are generous in size. I had the Four Cheese pizza....Mmmmm it was perfect. We also ordered a side of fries to share but they never arrived, which secretly we were quite grateful for as we were totally stuffed by the end of the meal! When we asked for the bill at the end I just mentioned that we didn't receive the fries and it wasn't a problem but can they just make sure it wasn't on the bill please. The waitress returned with the bill and a genuine apology plus 2 free vouchers to have complimentary cocktails at the bar below the restaurant. We ordered Espresso Martinis there and considering the cocktails were £14 each (it's Mayfair baby!) it was a generous apology for a small mistake. Now that's what you call good service! They meet that expectation for me as it's my go to spot when I'm craving pizza. The pizzas are tasty and crust is nice and thin with a slight crunch. The pastas are delicious. The pasta noodles are always cooked al-dente perfect and flavor is on point. They have the best staff. Super friendly and nice.

Despite a large pizza menu, you can still mix and match (for example, I wanted half the pizza with onions and mushrooms, the other simply cheese and tomato, and they did this no problem, albeit gave me a strange look!). The prices are good too (especially for the area), and it's nice and clean. The service is simple, neither friendly nor rude. I prefer to visit independantly owned restaurants as opposed to chains, so will always choose here over the Pizza Express located just round the corner. Will always return to again and again!

Now, I'd also heard many things about this location in Kentish Town, especially in junction with Dirty Burger (next door) and the Chicken Shop (underneath); apparently they all belong to the Soho House Group and as much as I dislike these "big" conglomerates, I have to say that these folks know what they're doing. (I've been to the Soho House in Berlin a few times and really loved it!) Anyhow, I came here for lunch and we had a really nice time. It was surprisingly busy for a Thursday lunchtime (especially given it's non-central location), but the waiting staff was on top of it and we felt well-taken care of all along the way. I browsed the reviews of my predecessors and decided on the Porchetta pizza. My other half went for the veal meatball pizza. We also ordered two veggie side dishes: wilted spinach and gem salad (gem, broad bean, courgette, caprino). The pizzas were both delightful - both the porchetta and the veal meatballs were superb toopings (Porchetta, by the way is a "savoury, fatty, and moist boneless pork roast of Italian culinary tradition" according to Wikipedia). The gem salad looked rather boring, but they added lemon zest to it, which spiked it up quite nicely. At the end of our meal we also got invited to join the Pizza East "keyring club" - upon presenting this keyring (see picture), you get a 50% discount for the entire party at lunchtime on certain days of the week. I mean, this is a great deal...especially as the prices are not cheap and a discount like this would make me plan a visit again!

However I was glad we went for the doughnut (cooked in the pizza oven as we watched) and salted caramel tart because both were also outstanding. The combination of tart sweet chocolate and salty caramel was perfect, and the dough on the doughnut was as fresh, sweet and tasty as any I have had. The pizzas themselves were also very good, we originally planned to share but then at them all ourselves which is probably a pretty good indication of hwo much we enjoyed them. The menu really has an appealing range of options and they're a good side if on the expensive side. Overall a great night, nothing like dinner and a (surprise) show. Would definitely return if in the area, it's a particularly good combination with a stroll up Parliament Hill. Fun times.

I popped in between some post-Christmas shopping (aka exchanging Christmas gifts) with my mum, and between us we shared an American Hot Pizza and a Caesar Salad. With that along with 2 Diet Cokes it came to around £24. Not bad considering the quality of our lunch! The pizza was huge with a fresh, thin base and perfect toppings, the salad was topped with tender, juicy chunks of chicken, romaine lettuce, fresh Parmesan and crispy, crunchy rashers of bacon. The staff were friendly and attentive. Super tasty place for a quick lunch or even a romantic meal.
