Cute small place to eat had a pizza fritta, which was good lots of dough though. Service was a bit slow, and not much sauce on the pizza fritta, I wasn't able to try anything else on the menu..: it's not somewhere I'd go to daily but they were open on Boxing Day

    Cheese! :)

Why is this restaurant always empty? I mean, they are in front of 'The Breakfast Club' that is all trendy at the moment, but, instead of queueing for hours, why don't you give a try at this little Italian place? If you are up for pizza or pasta, it won't disappoint you! Seriously. I went for lunch one day (after being disheartened by the queue in front) and I have to say that I don't regret it at all. The place is all brick walls and white wood furniture. The kitchen is open and in plain sight so you can see the cook kneading your pizza or seasoning your pasta the whole time which, for me, is always interesting. I ordered a cheese board as a starter and Raviolo stuffed with cherry tomatoes, mozzarella and basil in tomato sauce and they were delicious. There was only one waiter and the cook, but the boy was lovely. He explained the menu and the specials of the day and was always very aware of our needs of drinks, bread... I didn't try the pizza, but the people sitting next to us were having Calzone and pizza gourmet and they looked and smelt really good. And they have Gluten free pizzas as well.

We were hanging around Hoxton Square for a while, trying to find a new place for lunch. We found this lovely restaurant next to 'Breakfast Club' (there were people queeing, of course!), so we decided to give Rossopomodoro a chance. It was almost empty. The waiter was really attentive and nice. He explained us everything about the menu, with a cute Italian accent hehehe We order a cheese platter as a started (three types of mature cheese with bread and an amazing tomato sauce) TO DIE FOR. After that, two dishes of Pasta as a main course. I always wanted to try Meatball Pasta. It was amazing! The tomato sauce was so delicious. I ran out of bread! My companion ordered Raviolo filled with mozarella and basil. So good as well! I'll go back for sure :)

Delicious! And they made being vegan so easy! Items were clearly marked as vegan and i didn't have to worry about unmentioned cheese. The salad was really fresh and crisp. The pasta had a touch of hot pepper, yum!

Super nice. Cute staff. Good place for tired day. I had once in holborn restaurant however I found that there was new one in hoxton! The flavor is so yum!

I got the squid ink linguini with prawns, and it was good but a little bit bland. Too much linguini compared to sauce and prawns. I forgot what the dessert I ordered was called, but it was basically a giant, just-fried, crispy donut with nutella drizzled on top - delicious! Service was painfully slow, even though they were half empty.

OMG! Can they move to NY? This is why I love Italian food! But only certain Italian food that I really enjoy the most. We have the best one in our neighborhood in NY, that's awesome! This one is no exception. When I walked around the neighborhood in the afternoon, I didn't realize that this restaurant is just across from the Thai restaurant I came for lunch earlier. I found a few restaurants around here but when I asked the front desk employee (female), she recommended this place. Very good recommendation! It was spot on! Only a few steps away from the hotel, I walked over to the restaurant and saw the sign. I walked in feeling like I'm in Italy. The colorful decoration, the wooden furniture, the visible Chef and kitchen staff, everything was perfect! Their employees are Italians. My waitress, Amelia, has a nice Italian accent. Sounds lovely! She's also very very sweet! I wanted a seafood pasta from London at this Italian restaurant. After looking thru the entire menu, I didn't see any seafood pasta. I asked Amelia about seafood and she said would ask the Chef about my favorite. She came back and told me that the Chef would make me a nice pasta with calamari. Wow! I just got a royal treatment. The Chef would make this for me yahoo! Thanks Chef! If you stay at Holiday Inn next door, the hotel would give you a coupon where you can get a free drink. Nice! I got one but mine didn't come with a free drink coupon because I don't drink soda. Amelia came back with my unbelievable pasta calamari! It was a nice red puttanesca sauce and not just red tomato sauce. I know a few pasta sauces by name and how they taste like. The sauce was awesome with a little bit of anchovies, olive, plum tomato, and caper tastes, all in one plate. This one was a real homemade cooking! The pasta is rigatoni, which I hardly order but I didn't ask about a specific pasta. However, the rigatoni didn't bother my tasting at all, in fact, the Chef knew exactly what he was doing. This sauce and pasta could be the best combination. I'm not giving 5 stars just because of the service and treatment but they earned the stars for the well prepared tasty dish, top notch service and lovely ambience. This dish is to die for! I loved it! I appreciated Amelia's talent in trying to work with what I was looking for. They do have calamari as appetizer, so it made it easier for the Chef to work on my favorite seafood pasta. Anything possible in this city of London! Thank You Chef and Thanks a lot Amelia for adding a happy meal just for me.

I had the Margherita Napoletana offer for £5.50 plus extra Parma Ham for less than £2. It was delicious! (Update: offer seems to have ended)

The pizzas they make are amazing! I had not eaten such a delicious pizza in a long time! I could feel the ingredients used are high quality. So so tasty! Strongly recommend! The tables and the place has a warm and authentic atmosphere without trying too hard and it is tidy and clean and well decorated. The service was calm, chilled and efficient. Will definitely go again!

The food was pretty good and he service was nice. Fairly price and a lovely open kitchen stone bake oven on use.

It's also basically on my street and one of the few sit downs open on weekends! However, each of my visits yielded a variable experience, meaning the quality consistency is lacking which means I wouldn't recommend it to a good friend. Not a good thing when it comes to lesser known restaurants. My first time, I was drawn in by the golden lights radiating from the bar and the warehouse lighting which looks almost chic when paired with the exposed brick and glass embellishments. Although my boss and I were the only ones here, the staff paid little to no attention to us - no greeting or any mind paid to us until we physically walked over the bar, distracting the group chatting away in their huddle. The wine was on the pricier side. The second time I came, the place was brimming with city brokers having Thirsty Thursday. The prosecco was decent and we had a nice time. Until we got the bill for the 3 shots of tequila we had which totalled £48. So that's over 15 pounds for each shot...when we queried the bill, the staff explained that the quality of the tequila he poured us explained the cost, exasperated with our stupidity. We said we were not going to pay for that just because when asked what kind, we had probably said "whatever" or "doesn't matter". Doesn't that usually mean house stuff? The third time I had post-birthday party brunch here where I opted for the Italian breakfast which means eggs, soppresetta, sour dough with pate?, tomato, and tuscan sausage. My tastebuds were (to be fair) taking a beating due to the hangover but it was just mediocre at best. Plus the stuff on the sour dough was strange and unpleasant. Canto and I are neighbours and I don't give up on my neighbours.

So a big shout out to the old man (if indeed he has anything at all to do with the place) for continuing to do the simple things really well and not charge the earth for it. My mushroom soup bucks the trend by steadfastly refusing to be the creamy, comfy clagged up version but instead a thin but powerful broth choc full of a variety of dried mushroom and the added bonus of small pieces of ham. It's a rustic affair, bravely done and all the better for it. A refusal to fall into the prissy traps. Arancini and a side of roast new potatoes for my nibblish mood don't disappoint either. The arancini's crispy shell giving way to unctuous insides and the potatoes perfectly crunchy and salty and rosemar-y. Again, simple stuff done very well. The arancini and the potatoes came to about £8. I'd rate that a bargain. Carluccio's wherever you go always feels bright and airy and modern. This one has the added advantage of being on Spittalfields so you can watch the groovy wordbenders whizz by on their hover boards and scooters playing spot the person without funky facial hair. Atmosphere's a bit cosier. The menu has changed somewhat, I tried the duck pappardelle labelled "new". As expected it was very decent, generous portion, but not mind-blowing.
