L'Hexagone is a new, exclusively menswear store located on Dalhousie street. While this store has a…read morevariety of items, it is definitely catered towards higher-end fashion. We were greeted right away by an eager salesman who was friendly and knowledgable. The store was very busy, but he still managed to juggle all of the customers in a professional manner, all by himself. I gotta say, they have some fine threads in this store (DKNY etc). The small space is divided into two sections: fancy and casual; but even the casual section has clothes that would be appropriate for the office or "nicer than casual but not quite dressy" nights out. We browsed for a good half hour, and the employee was very good at making appropriate recommendations for the 3 very different guys that I was shopping with. He read their cues to know what each of them was looking for but was not pushy or trying to boost sales by recommending the most expensive items. Any kind of clothing they offer (such as shirts, dress shirts, suits and ties) comes in a wide variety of colours, so this would be a great "one stop shop" to pick out an entire outfit where everything matches. The colours are also very "in" this spring and there are even fancy shorts and dressy short sleeved shirts. Prices are higher, but they are applicable to the designer labels that L'Hexagone carries. It would be appropriate to shop here for parties, clothing for the office, weddings or anything that requires a little more than jeans and the same shirt you have worn to every single party last year. I had a good experience in this store and will be back to dress my boyfriend for all of the weddings we are going to this summer!

I'm glad Ottawa has some clothing stores with styles outside the GAP, AE, Old Navy, etc. Not that there's anything wrong with those stores but they're pretty boring. Schad carries a nice balance of North American and European brands. The unfortunate thing about some of the North American brands is that they've been run into the ground since the Jersey Shore phenomenon! Brands like Ed Hardy and Affliction are carried here and unfortunately Dom Rebel (based out of Montreal) has been styling a lot of shirts like them recently. Some of the other brands that I'm glad they have include Diesel, Energie, Sand and J Lindeberg. It's not for everyone but I do get complimented regularly. I believe there is a slight mark up on these brands compared to some of the other stores I've been in that carry these lines in Toronto and Montreal but it's not that much and the store owner and the staff are super friendly and super helpful. To get an idea, Chantel (the store owner) once tried on a dress for me that I was purchasing for a friend to give me an idea of what it would look like while being worn! That's pretty damn awesome!

They have a cute kids table at the back for colouring, which I thought was very considerate and welcoming for families. Expect high prices here. However, I'm not as stoked about it because most merchandise at Saks OFF 5TH are specifically for Saks OFF 5TH and were never in Saks Fifth Avenue (like how the stuff at the Banana Republic Factory Store was never actually in the Banana Republic retail store). That being said, Saks OFF 5TH does occasionally have some pieces that were in Saks Fifth Avenue for a fraction of the price. However, at the end of the day, 70% off a $2000 dress is still $600, which is still too rich for my blood, lol (this is a real example, although from the Kanata Saks OFF 5TH - it was a beautiful Roland Mouret dress that I still dream about. Luckily it was 4 sizes too big for me, so I didn't have to do any soul searching, haha). Ok, let's talk about this specific location downtown. It's brand spanking new and they are still not completely finished renovating at the time of the writing of this review. Everything is really neatly organized. I was there a little bit before lunch time on a weekday and staff outnumbered customers. Maybe people just don't know about it yet. The change rooms are big and clean. They don't have doors but curtains. However, the curtains have little metal hooks on them and there are little metal rings on the wall, so you can "lock" your curtain. I thought that that was kind of cool. There is a large women's clothes section, a smaller men's clothes section and a smaller still children's clothes section. The women's shoe section is large, and the handbags section is decent. I think there's a men's shoe section as well, but I'm not entirely sure, as I did not check it out. It's a fun place to poke around. I'm glad that Ottawa is getting some new stores.

He knows everything and anything about suits. He is very knowledgeable and helpful and makes you feel extremely comfortable the whole way through. I like that it's one price and nothing else no extra's just one set price and everything and anything you chose is part of your price. The sizes go up to like a 60 size waist which is pretty cool as everyone is welcome here. The prices here are super reasonable for the quality you get! Service is extraordinarily and now the only thing we have to wait for is the suit.. ahaha the measurements were all taken and everything was picked out so all is left now is to wait for the final product .. will complete this review when We receive the final product. My rating isn't based on the store but more against other Urban Outfitters I've been to. From the outside the space looks huge but that's not the case when you walk in. The store seems very cramped and small. The store doesn't seem like it's laid out well from when you first walk in and it feels that way when walking around the store. I checked out some of the apartment/housing things and they definitely have some cool items but there just doesn't seem as much as other stores. Some of the other stores have lots of pieces that you can purchase. I went upstairs to check out some of the clothing as the last time I was at UO in Montreal there were some t-shirts I forgot to pick up. When I went to check if they were here they didn't have them but the MTL store seemed to have all the shirts this one had and more. The staff wasn't to friendly the day I went. One of the staff said hi and I said hi back and smiled and when I went to ask a question they just took off. I'll be back for sure but the store definitely doesn't have the charm that the other UO's I've been to...with the exception of the change room upstairs. That was pretty cool.

I have never bought or even looked at any of the clothing UO sells but if I want some exclusive vinyl (or cassettes) for my own collection or as a gift, this place never fails. I really love how many UO exclusives they have too (like my clear vinyl Britney Spears - ...Baby One More Time LP or the Green and Purple Batman Forever Soundtrack Double LP). This place is dangerous though as I can only ever go in if I know for sure I can afford to buy something because I will most definitely find something worth buying. Every. Single. Time.

Prices are cheaper than places like Value Village. They had some new items like Funko Pops and Squishmallows, while I was there, but I guess these depend on donations, perhaps these were from a business (?) They also had some used video games and controllers. They also have (new) Big Brothers and Big Sisters merchandise. Staff are friendly. I believe that many of them are volunteers.
