I researched multiple schools looking for Italian classes, and I am so happy I found Strommen. I attended classes with Elisa for about two months now, and the class is ending next week. I've been taking Spanish classes remotely with Andrea S for the last few months, and its been a really fantastic experience. We use a mix of conversation, Spanish music, poems, textbook reading and textbook grammar to bring my Spanish to the next level. I just finished Deutsch 1 with Jerilyn! I was really engaged in her teaching style - she really knows how to take a lesson in the direction the students seem to be grasping the most in any given time and then expanding on and building from there. She gives individualized attention in the class - she's very responsive to questions outside of class and also applies insight to the German culture whenever she can into the lesson. The entire lesson is in German - which is for the best because immersion is truly the best way to learn. She provides free materials to use, the only thing in Deutsch 1 that we needed to buy was an English to German dictionary. She also provides multiple resources and different ways to learn. After a trip to Germany, I was interested in learning German as a new language. I love the small group structure that Strømmen facilitates, the classes I have taken with them brought me from beginner to conversational. I was skeptical about learning French from a private tutor. It's more expensive than taking a class and I wasn't sure if I'd benefit from the extra expense. I was wrong. I was looking for an Italian language class to prepare for an upcoming trip to Italy this summer, and thankfully a friend recommended Strommen! I took 2 rounds of Italian lessons with Elisa and felt so well prepared to travel solo through Florence and Rome.
