Friendly and quick. Needed a medicine for my cats care sickness. Received timely for my trip without issue.

We have brought my mom's dog to Strothertowne in Lee's Summit for years. This is a wonderful clinic with a very kind and professional staff. Mom's dog got the best care here. Today, I had the sad task of bringing Mom's dog in to be put to sleep. This was a difficult decision for the family, but the right decision. The veterinary tech that helped me process the paperwork and prepped Poppins was outstanding. She held this little dog with so much love and care during the entire procedure. Thank you for being so remarkably kind. (I didn't hold Poppins myself because sometimes the dog has mixed feelings about me. She is definitely mom's dog.) The vet was also incredibly kind and gentle. He was familiar with our case, and gave Poppins excellent care. Thank you. I am sorry that this sad work is put upon the same good people that give so much to care for everyone's pets. Excellent. We had a difficult case with one of our cats and Dr. Like was outstanding. Took the time to call us personally with updates and recommendations. Great communication. Also, he got us in twice with no appointment due to the urgency of our case. I'd like to note that we never felt pressured to do expensive procedures or unnecessary tests. Dr. Like offered two options, a conservative approach and a more aggressive approach, and went through the pros and cons of each option. When I asked what he would do personally in our shoes, he replied that he would probably select the conservative route and see if that worked before doing anything aggressive. I appreciated this when it would have been easy to try to sell me on more things up front due to how concerned we were with the situation. The strategy was sound and we never felt upsold. I feel like everyone at Strothertowne went the extra mile to take care of Annabelle. Thank you! read more

My dog was having really bad allergies and was flaring up and super itchy and they took a look at him and gave me some meds and it cleared up within 4 days! The vet was very passionate about helping my dog aswell as other staff, i think i found my home vet!! I love this place read more

Dr Jones, who started the practice is gone. Although the employees are friendly the service provided is incredibly average. Total time vets have been out of school is low. Lot more experience available in KC. read more

Yes!! I love this place! I love all the ladies at the front desk starting with Missy and Michelle! They greet me and my girls as soon as we walk in. The vet techs are amazing starting with Trinity, Baylee, Gabbie, and Riley!! They are such wonderful people here! I used to use Dr Jones who was AMAZING!!! But since he's gone I started using Dr Sarah I highly recommended her!! She is AMAZING as well!!! These people truly care for our fur babies!! We switched to this vet clinic a couple years ago. They are all marvelous. Above and beyond standard care. They've done shots, helped with sick pets, assisted with an elderly dog, you name it. They were able to diagnose and treat a skin condition our dog had for 3 years since moving here.... And get him healed up. The other vets we'd seen tried shots and pills and nothing worked. Their prices are reasonable. One of our newest pets had to have some serious surgery... They were fantastic and everything was successful. The aftercare is very good, and when you come back they remember you and your pet. Nice. read more

Dr. Jones has been wonderful with our Griffon who is 8 years old. The staff is very helpful and friendly.

Dr. Warren Jones is a wonderful and down to earth vet. He obviously loves animals and it shows in the care he gives my two cats. We first met Dr. Jones when we adopted a cat from the Lee's Summit Animal Shelter (the city's shelter). Dr. Jones gave our Mr. Bub his first shots and did the required surgery to fix Mr. Bub before we could adopt him. We liked Dr. Jones so much on the 1 year follow up visit with Mr. Bub that he has become our family vet. Today we took our 10 year old cat in for a check up and shots. Dr. Jones didn't get all excited about the possibility that our cat might have a more serious problem, but in simple terms explained to us what all possible options for the symptoms were. We were given a very simple solution to try and asked to bring the cat back for a weight check in a few weeks. I really like Dr. Jones' down to earth, practical and less invasive approach. Oh, the waiting area may be small, but it is intimate. We got to talk to other pets and pets and pet owners. The dogs and cats all got along (most dogs were on leashes) the kitties in boxes didn't hiss. It was relaxed and the animals coming from the exam rooms looked relaxed too. Even my little Pooh cat, who would pee in her travel box going to our old vet, was calm. I am so glad I found Dr. Jones and Strothertowne Pet Hospital. A place that loves it's patients and their two legged owners. read more

Tried to make an appointment for a nail trim. The receptionist was imm so short with me that I told her never mind. She became very pleasant once I said that, happy to get me off the phone I guess. If I can't get through making the appointment without issue, seems unlikely this is a good fit for us. read more

If you like spending silly amounts of money on vaccinations, and you enjoy listening to Dr. Jones' ridiculous conspiracy theories, this is your man. Last visit with Dr. Jones and my Boxer, he spent more time discussing his theory on COVID positive test numbers being falsified, and another conspiracy theory involving Kobe Bryant and the Chinese Intelligence being responsible for his death in the helicopter (sorry man, but the pilot flew into IMC conditions without a rating and died. End of story). It is sad to see highly educated men like Dr. Jones fall for such nonsense, and if that were the only issue, I could live with it. But just spent $500 to have three animals vaccinated for rabies??? Really Dr. Jones? I guess at some point in every person's life, the power of the almighty dollar is so tempting. You have lost my business forever. read more

Worst customer service experience of my life. My Mom uses Strothertowne & loves it so I decided to try it for my two dogs. We went once and the vet was great. This summer, I called to make an appointment for my dogs to get their routine shots. I called on a Monday to make an appointment & asked if they had anything available on Saturday. The woman who answered the phone said that they were all booked but they had a 5:00 available on Friday, so I booked it. She did not give any dates, but it being Monday & her saying Friday, I assumed it was the same week. I left work in Kansas City on Friday, drove 30 minutes home to Blue Springs to get my dogs, and another 20 back to Lee's Summit for the appointment. I walked in and the girl at the desk looked at me like I was an alien. She asked me what I was doing there & I told her I had a 5:00 appointment. I think she knew she screwed up because she didn't really ask me any questions. She said "Oh no, you're appointment is next Friday & we have to cancel that because the doctor will be on vacation." I said oh okay, well i called this week & you said Friday so I assumed it was today. She just kept staring at me and repeating that I could sit there and wait but it would be a REALLY long time & she couldn't promise the vet would see me (she never got up to go ask him). I explained to her that I left work early, etc...and she just kept repeating the same thing. She said they had called me to re-schedule my appointment that was supposed to be the next week, however I had no missed calls or voicemails & she did verify my phone number. I kept sitting there expecting that she would at least go and ask the doctor what they could do but she did not. She said I could come back tomorrow (Saturday). I told her that they had told me they were booked on Saturday & she said, oh yeah someone canceled." Again she repeated that if I sat there it would be a REALLY long time. I asked for my dog's records & left, and she never offered anything or went and talked to the doctor. On top of this, I still wanted to think the best about the clinic & so I wrote to them with my experience and never heard a response. All I was expecting that she apologize & go speak with the doctor on what they could to accommodate. read more

Dr Jones and his staff are by far the most compassionate and patient vet clinic I have ever came across. They treat your babies as if they are their own. I had been with him for the past 7 years. From new puppies to putting 2 babies down. They had been our go to people for everything our family needed. We moved out of state and unfortunately can't make a 12 hr drive every time ( we wish we could though ). If you want a kind hearted Dr and staff I suggest you give them a call! read more

I was very disappointed with my experience at this animal hospital when it came highly recommended by a friend. Dr Jones was very warm and inviting at first but as the appointment went on he really showed what he was after; money. He tried manipulating me and playing on my emotions. I'm fairly certain he thought he had me but I've been down this road before and I know a vet like this when I see one. Without asking me he called an ultrasound tech to come give my elderly dog an ultrasound. I said woah woah hang on, what is the price? He said $400. I said ok well I don't have $400 and he said "that's okay you can leave your dog here with us and pay us when you have the money" I was like uhmmmm no. Leave my dog?! What for a week while I try to come up with the extra money? And after I told him no he continued to play on my emotions telling me we need to check for a tumor. For reference my dog is 12. I've already been to 3 other vets on what's been going on with him. He's had scans and lab work elsewhere. Inconclusive. He does however have bad arthritis. That's likely the issue but could be a tumor sure but he doesn't have typical signs of a tumor. He hasn't lost weight, and he's eating/drinking normal. He gave my dog an arthritis shot in the office... don't you think I'd want to see if that helps first??? He was trying to milk me for money. It was so obvious. On top of that his exam fee was $70. Most places are around $45-$50. Insanity. Never going back again. Thanks. read more

I've been trying to find my review, to take down,I'm so sorry ,I jumped the gun,I took my sweet baby in,he was dying, in pain,I asked Dr. Jones to put him down, I couldn't stay in the room,I get very distraught, I was paying my bill,heard an horrible noise,thought it was my baby,and have been very very depressed, Dr. Jones called and let me know, it wasn't my baby,but another little cat,I believe Dr. Jones,he has never lied to me,AGAIN I'm very sorry for bad review,I should have talked to Dr. Jones, up till that day,I'd always given Dr. Jones 5 stars,and will continue to do so. We have only bought dog food here, so I can't comment on the vet or boarding services, but everyone is really friendly and helpful. It's great that they offer all of the Red Paw food varieties. Brookside Barkery got our dog hooked on Red Paw Perform 32, then flat out lied to us about the manufacture discontinuing it. I emailed the manufacturer and they recommended we stop in at Strothertowne. Our dog is really happy we found another Red Paw supplier. read more
