I signed a contract with Structural Hawaii on October 28, 2021, for building plans and permit services for a new home in Kaneohe. After more than four years of delays and lack of progress, I finally gave up in February 2026 due to their inability to deliver. For comparison, another firm I worked with completed a far more complex Kailua project and obtained its permit in under a year. Structural Hawaii has been a major disappointment. Had Jeoffrey come out and look at my place was told he would give me an estimate. Spent $523 and some change for a 30 min walkaround was told an estimate would be given in 2 weeks. That was on November 28th been a few weeks since. Called and left messages with their reception never got a call back. If you have $500+ to burn go ahead and send it to them they will happily take the check. I even went based on a referal from my previous boss at Pineridge going to have to let them know they probably shouldnt recommend them to other people at this point. read more

Sadly I have to echo others experience with this company. Almost 3 months ago I met with Jeffrey Cudiamat about repairing structural issues with my 70 year old house. He seemed knowledgeable and told me he would get back to me with a proposal after the holidays. The retaining wall supporting my entire living room is cracking and the house is leaning so he understood that this was somewhat urgent. Well, after numerous emails and phone calls for months I have heard NOTHING. Nada. I just keep hearing that Jeffrey is "busy" or out of the office. Should have paid more attention to the reviews. Hired for a consultant job on a retaining wall. They were quick to set it up and come out to look at it. Guy was very knowledgeable. Afterwards said they could do the job and he would draw up plans....several months later...I have called and emailed many times and heard nothing. One of our construction company hired them to do the design and ESCP but they made mistake on the design for overlapped other properties that does not belong to ours. In addition, their ESCP crews are unprofessional because they do not have personal protection equipment (PPE) and even though I needed bio-socks around the dirt, they said it is fine. BEWARE if you hire them, you might have to pay fines and your companies will written on inspector's priority inspection list. They have design team but their design team members are not graduated as architecture major, and they do not have civil engineers work for their civil section. SUPER un-organize company and ridiculous service. Tips: They will call they inspector to told on you if you start your job ahead of time without telling them. (They like play chicken shit) read more

ZERO STARS - I was looking to buy a remodeled house and the sellers provided a structural inspection report done by Structural Builders Hawaii. They also submitted a sellers real property disclosure stating all structural issues recommended repairs were in fact done by the same company, along with a warranty of work signed by the owner Jeoffrey Cudiamat. Upon a home inspection by Building Specs Hawaii, there was clear and visible structural issues that weren't address during remodeling, that will lead to safety issues. Blatantly lying to us as the buyers and providing false statements. This company should be fined and have their contracting license suspended. They also refused to return any messages we left with Desiree Stabilio about our concerns. Unethical company that should not be in business especially since a lot of their work can be safety issues. Structural Hawaii is the Best! From the very initial consultation with Jeoffrey Cudiamat, to the assessment and drawing by Kelly Mendoza, then to completion. No one actually knows what happens in between, but all I can say is that I had a wonderful, smooth-sailing, hassle-free transaction with Structural Hawaii. I did not have to do much or put much effort- whenever I received transactions from Structural Builders from the Dept of Planning & Permitting, I promptly took care of it. The final drawing was approved, and there it was, my dream of a bathroom on Kelly's professional design on a big piece of paper (plans), as if I am looking at a fine painting of my favorite artist in my bedroom. No really, I felt as if despite the project, I did not have to lift a finger. The actual transactions happened between Structural Builders (SB) and the DPP. This makes SB a professional class company. They know what to do and who to deal with, then provide you with the best professional guidance possible. Unfortunately, after the fine drawing by Kelly, I hired HC Hawaii Construction who did not follow the drawing that was approved by DPP. I had to either re-apply for a new permit to approve the mess the HC Hawaii Construction has made OR re-do and fix the mess from HC Hawaii Construction to follow the drawing that has been approved by DPP. I opted for the latter. The amazing president of Structural Builders, Cheryl Cudiamat, found out about my unfortunate experience and told me about their exclusive sister company Structural Builders Hawaii. This construction company saved me, literally my time and money, and helped me demolished the mess from HC Hawaii Construction and redid my bathroom to follow their designer's drawing. It was a quick turnaround time. The guys at Structural Builders Hawaii, the sister construction company of Structural Hawaii, are all very professional and showed work ethic that we can hardly find these days. Anthony Langit is their manager, and he is prompt, answers your questions, solves your concerns, and an all-around nice guy to deal with. As a matter of fact, everyone I had a pleasure to deal with either at Structural Hawaii or their construction company Structural Builders Hawaii are wonderful, and I can definitely say it starts from the top, Jeoffrey and Cheryl Cudiamat. They give you peace of mind and are very knowledgeable about anything relating to architecture, drawings, DPP, and actual construction. This is a well-rounded company and one shop for all that you need when it comes to your home renovation and projects. I am very lucky to have ran into this company. They helped me solve the issues I had with HC Hawaii Construction by re-doing and providing me with a quality finished project. They also took care of my DPP paperwork and necessary documents seamlessly. Once meeting with these folks in this company, you would know that you are in good, professional, knowledgeable hands. I have been working with Patrick from Structural Hawaii for over 2 years on my private residence in Kailua. He and his team have gone above and beyond in every step of what can be a Mt. Everest of an expedition in designing plans and obtaining permits from the city. The amount of back and forth, on site visits, phone calls, emails, renderings, etc etc, A huge effort has been made - at a very fair cost. I would never consider using any other architectural firm and anyone who obtains their services should consider themselves fortunate and in great hands. Terrible terrible terrible. We were working with these donkeys to get permitting for a covering to be installed in our driveway. We also needed to get a permit for a part of the house that was not permitted. You would assume that these jerk offs would come out to assess everything and take measurements, but that was not the case. Instead they would rather get the measurements over the phone like lazy asses. What's more upsetting is their misleading e-mails about costs for the permit. They will give you a price, but that's for their service; NOT the permit. Basically you will get charged twice. Their service is nothing more than sitting in an office and pushing buttons on a computer. Highly recommend going somewhere else more professional. Don't be fooled by the fools! read more

Good place to get plans for construction made. They also take care of getting the building permit(s), and the staff was pleasant. However, they are on the pricey side and tend to nickle and dime you. When they called to say my plans and permit were ready, I asked if they could mail it to me, they said they would for a fee. After spending literally thousands for my plans and permit through this company, you'd think they could throw in mailing the plans out. I'd recommend shopping around. read more

Very disappointed in the level of service I received. Had them come out to do a consult on our property for a future project. Was charged 500 for the consult at which time I never received the answers I was looking for. I was told they could get soil reports and such from the city, but I never received. I called after 2 weeks to see if they had reports and discuss my satisfaction. The engineer finally called me back after 2 calls into the office. I told him I wanted to discuss the consult and how I felt that the service didn't warrant $500- though they had cashed my check immediately- and I asked about reports. I paid for a site consultation. The owner of the company (who performed the consultation) never responded to my request for a basic assessment of the problem. They gave me an estimate for the work that was significantly pricier than other construction companies I've contacted. Would not recommend this company and would never use them again. read more
