TOPIC: Went for maintenance/repair paid $1200 for a horrible experience. So about 3-4 weeks ago I decided to get my 2012 Subaru Impreza looked at for an oxygen sensor that needed replaced. Granted I got the car used so it was likely to need maintenance but amount I have paid is ridiculous. Day 1: Dropped the car off and the supervisor says that they would look at it and fix it. Later that day they said they fixed a timing issue/part but that the 02 sensor was fixed. Cool. Went to pick it up and fuel was spraying EVERYWHERE and I had to circle around back to the lot. The manager/supervisor was cool about the issue and said they would take it back and give a free cleaning. Day 2: Picked up the car and to be fair it was cleaned up from yesterday's issue. I drive back to Altoona from the Hollidaysburg dealership and the lights come back on cruise, traction, check engine, etc. Call the place back and they said they would look at it again. Day 3: Supervisor said it was likely due to the fuel line in the engine compartment spraying fuel all over the place on DAY 1. At the end of all of this I was offered either a tune up of the car or a refund of $100. I choose the refund because no way I would let these people butcher the car again. The only reason I am giving a 2 star review is because the Supervisor I dealt with, Brandon I believe, was cool about the whole ordeal. Otherwise, for a timing issue, an 02 sensor, and $135 diagnostic (which is free at Autozone BTW) was the worst experience I've ever had dealing with mechanics. If you're buying a car, cool, if you are getting repairs/maintenance stay the hell away and go with a local mechanic. By the way, my check engine, cruise control, and traction control lights are still on and I'm working with a local mechanic to fix my car on those issues. Absolutely one of the worst vehicle purchasing experiences I have EVER had. We called ahead, as we were coming from out of state to trade in and purchase a used truck. We got all the paperwork done over the phone, agreed to price and trade in value, and set our appointment. That was the end of any positive experience with this dealer. We showed up 10 minutes early for our 11am appointment. At 11:30, the salesman we had made an appointment with still hadn't shown up for work. The lone salesman on the floor was dealing with 4 separate couples trying to buy cars, while the two managers sat at their desks at the front and did next to zero to actually help anyone. Just goofed off on their computers. As mentioned, we were there to primarily test drive and sign, but as soon as we said "Yes, we like it." we suddenly had to re-do all the paperwork that we had previously agreed upon, as if none of it was ever filed at all. We almost walked out when the woman in finance would not take "No" as an answer for their extended warrantee. We said no, and we meant it. She eventually went and got one of the "managers" and we told him drop it or we walk. He finally did, though he felt the need to make a sales pitch for it too. What should have been a 20 minute experience turned into a 3 hour + ordeal, and that's not even the end. Once we got home with the truck, waited two weeks, then started checking with our county title office to get my plates registered. I keep specialty charity plates on the vehicle. The title hadn't been released to the state. Weeks of checking, weeks of nothing. We finally called to see what what happening and got told "We called and left a message that we were missing paperwork." Number 1, you knew we were coming from out of state, and knew what paperwork you needed to have. Number 2, we asked what phone you called, and were given a number that doesn't belong to either of us. You called that number ONCE, and then "left it up to us to call you back." Due diligence must not be a value you espouse. Now, my plates are "on the way", and they're not the correct ones, meaning I have to pay the state fees to have them transferred to what I actually wanted. You could call me in 10 minutes and offer me a 100% brand new vehicle on a 1-to-1 trade, no change in payments, and if it meant having to sign a single paper with your staff, it wouldn't be worth it. Absolute worst experience I've ever had. Will not be back, and know that locally based family and friends already know how our experience went. read more

They offered me a low ball buyback price so they could make more off me I said no and tried talking about other options where they just started ignoring me. China was an amazing salesperson , I actually switched my salesman because the other one and I did not mesh. I did tell the other salesman that the inspection sticker was wrong on the car and it was illegal and needed fixed and he never did anything and then a week almost passed and came back to purchase that car and told China but of course nobody wanted to help her so she had to put dealer plates on for me because I was not taking it off the lot with my plates until the inspection got fixed. price for car was a little over but it had all of the items I wanted and I have looked working an hour driving and checked carfax so we went with it. Very happy so far with the car and again China was amazing but I also new exactly what I wanted. read more

Saw a car on the website that I wanted to buy, but I live about an hour away so I called ahead to ensure the car was available before I made the drive. They said it was. Sure enough, I'm less than a mile away and they claim there was a "glitch" in their system and that the computer shows that the car is available but that it was actually sold that afternoon. Give me a break, there's no "glitch," the salesman just didn't check and blatantly lied then decided to check just before we arrived. As I was finalizing everything, it was getting dark out. I saw a scratch in the tailgate. They signed an "IOU" noting that it needed fixed. I was satisfied at the time. Oh, I forgot, the salesman also told me the towing capacity was 10,100 lbs (I have a travel trailer, so that was of interest to me). I finished the deal, signed the papers, and headed off. The salesman, Tyler, offered to do a spray in bed liner for $450. I said I would think about it. I knew that the scratch had to be fixed. In the meantime, the service department called me and told me there were some recalls on my truck. I set the appointments up for the same time. Meanwhile, I took the truck through an automatic car wash and noticed water had entered the truck (not Stuckey's fault). The service department agreed to fix all issues, starting with the scratch. The technician called me, and said they buffed most of it the scratch, but wanted to call me before going any further. As I look at the truck from the side, the seams don't match up. Finally, I bought the truck out of state. From Maryland, they couldn't finalize the registration at the dealer. I was a bit confused, because this is not the first truck I have bought in PA. I rode off with the temp tags to expire 4/4/2021 and moved on. A few weeks later, I got a notice from the DMV that there was a hold on my account due to the lapse in coverage on my 2016 F-150. Called friday 8am to see about getting my car fixed under warranty. Here we are 10am tuesday not even a call back. Lord knows they sell you the car but once it breaks every hoop you can jump through. I fianlly decided to call courtesy ford whom i pegged as my last resort. They said bring it down right away and gave me a ride back to my house within 20 minutes. I was a doubter but courtesy ford gets my business from now on. No more stuckey cars for me. They left me stuckey with no transportation. Courtesy had a nice c6 vette there for 25k i might trade the car in before the days out. Beware. Called them then tri star who has nit called back since yesterday. Terrible service. I bought a Ford Escape in May of this year. Right after buying it, I kept getting numerous calls from insurance agencies in the Altoona area. Apparently the salesperson gave my number out to the companies so they could call and harass me about getting an insurance quote. Then, I have had to take my Escape back to Stuckey 6 times since May. It is only September. First, the computer went bad in the vehicle and all the electronic parts were glitching. Next, the motor and the transmission are both leaking fluid. I feel like I bought a lemon. I just got the car back from having the transmission fixed and was driving down the road when the big plastic cover on the bottom of my car fell off. I found out that they only put 2 screws in it, so it fell off. This has happened numerous times where their work has to be fixed after going there. I will never buy something there again. read more

I have a 2005 Subaru Impreza (bought here) and recently the muffler has been louder than usual. I called the dealership to schedule an appointment for them to take a look at it because I didn't know if I needed just a new muffler or an entire exhaust replacement. I was fully prepared to have this repair done here. UNTIL... they informed me of a standard $90 diagnostic fee. Are you kidding me?! PLEASE!!!! For what?! Put the car on the rack and see if it's just the muffler or an entire exhaust replacement. What are you diagnosing?! Further embarrassing for Stuckey is: when I canceled my appointment for the service, I told them that it was this unnecessary $90 diagnosis fee and they simply said, okay. SAD! read more

Comparing similar vehicles and dealers for comparison shopping, I spoke at length with Stuckey Automotive about their costs (dealer fees, specifically) before I agreed to put a deposit down and drive two hours from Harrisburg for their vehicle. After arrival and at settlement I found that they were not honest about their fees and were charging hundreds more than I was promised. I would have gone to the other dealer i was shopping with whose initial quote was higher (absent the surprise Stuckey fees) but all once was said and done, I was several hours into this and had driven over two hours, so I wasn't going to leave over a couple hundred dollars. When I complained, they reduced their fees slightly, but I still ended up paying more by a couple hundred dollars than I was quoted two times in the two preceding days. Additionally, once I complained, they "happened" to find a better finance rate (2.36% v. 3.99% for my 830 credit score) than previously. The rate didn't change the payment significantly, but instead served to further my perception that they are not an honest dealership - they claim finance rates are independent of them, but somehow didn't give me the best rate their set of banks provided until later, when it was "magically" found. read more

The team here is exceptionally friendly, fast and fair in price. They are accommodating, with a nice waiting room, complimentary coffee and a clean restroom while you wait for your vehicle. Which doesn't take long. My family frequents Stuckey Subaru Service and Dealer here in Hollidaysburg and couldn't speak more highly of the team here. On Saturday, April 26, 2014, I drove all the way from Pittsburgh, and offered $11000 for a Chevy Impala priced at $11776. I was already approved for financing, and wanted to make a $5000 down payment. They told me there was no way they could come down any amount on the price. I did not buy the vehicle. The next business day (Monday), they lowered the price to $10998, and sold the car to someone else. I had to send my vehicle there according to my insurance provider to be repaired for deer and other cosmetic damage. Its been over 2 months now and I still have yet to get my vehicle back. I know the damage was fairly extensive but I think this is absolutely ridiculous.
