When I returned to pick up my car, I was unexpectedly presented by Kelly with a maintenance charge of over $200. I requested verification, as I have a valid prepaid maintenance plan ($960 for 3 years/5 services). Despite my request, KB did not review the plan initially, got occupied here and there just to delay time, and brought the charge back again without clarification. Only after I insisted a third time and showed my electronic proof on my phone did they confirm I owed nothing. KB simply took the charging doc away from me, said to Kelly "Give her the Key", said nothing to me? And that's your attitude? Did I owe you anything? Excuse you??? This experience left me feeling that customer service and respect are not being prioritized. Throughout the interaction, there was a noticeable lack of courtesy or apology or explanation from the staff involved. KB even commented that someone was "putting strain on him," which I found highly unprofessional and ridiculous. My only suggestion is to step out from your position. She was very responsive and accommodating, since I had "many" questions about the car along with request for photo's trying to make sure I wasn't wasting my time traveling 160 miles. The dealership was able to make me feel confident that the car was worth the trip and purchase and even negotiated on the price. So, 160 miles later, I met Bobby, who was professional, polite and friendly. I purchased the car and was done with the transaction in 30 mins. As I was walking out of the door the owner came out and thanked me for the purchase and trusting them with such a long drive. Lo and behold, my AC decides to crap out during this hot, hot summer. A friend suggested a mom and pop shop near campus. After giving them a call, I was informed that they did not work on AC units. I then asked if there was any shop in the area they could suggest. The gentleman on the other line recommended Sharer's Automotive. I immediately gave them a call. The receptionist, Tracy, was so helpful and sweet. Thankfully, I was able to schedule an appointment for the same day (or else I would've had to drive back home to Maryland in the scorching heat!). Jared, the owner and mechanic, explained to me what was potentially happening with my car. He informed me that to know for sure whether or not there was a leak, he would need to place a special dye in the system. Jared flushed out the AC system and added refrigerant. I then scheduled a follow-up. I went back yesterday to have my AC checked. Jared found some minor leaks and gave me a pair of neon yellow glasses to see for myself (which was pretty cool, I might add!). Oftentimes, mechanics may push for unnecessary repairs and upsells. However, I am pleased to tell you that this was not the case at Sharer's Automotive. Jared was very honest, and the prices were fair. I'm delighted to have found this garage!
