They suck. They don't have a car lift to inspect their cars. NOT RELIABLE. I hope they go out of business.

The cost of the oil change was 3x the amount compared to when I asked when making the appointment over the phone. I also witnessed two people get kicked out of the store because they scheduled for an inspection but no workers at the store were certified to do the inspection.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO MONRO FOR INSPECTION…read more I had a safety inspection appointment on Saturday, June 13. When I arrived, they told me they couldn't perform the emissions test. I agreed to get the emissions test done at Tire Town and let Monro perform only the safety inspection. After waiting for about two hours, the mechanic came back with a long list of parts that he claimed had to be replaced for the car to pass the safety inspection. They gave me an estimate of $3,200. I honestly couldn't believe it. I'm a mechanical engineer, so I inspected every one of those parts myself. Except for one broken rear coil spring, everything else was in good condition. I didn't argue with them--I simply took my car home. I bought a new rear spring for $56, replaced it myself, and then took the car to another inspection station. The vehicle passed the safety inspection with no other safety-related issues. Based on my experience, it seems the mechanic was finding problems that didn't actually exist in order to generate expensive repair work.

Great repair shop, I would definitely recommend!…read more Paul, the owner and lead mechanic, is the one you'll talk to on the phone. He's the most honest and straight forward mechanic you could ask for. One of my car's issues was with its computer, even though part of the repair went beyond this shops capabilities they still stayed in touch, recommending a car dealer and ensuring the proper repair was accomplished. They charge by the hour and do a great job at keeping you updated on the car's status. I don't plan on going to any other repair shop after working with these guys.

He had it for 2+ weeks. When I went to check on it, he said he replaced the spark plugs, mass air flow sensor, replaced a bolt in the turbo and added oil, for a cost of $509 (negotiated down from $700) and he also acknowledged it did not make it run any better. Then he proceeded to tell me he thinks the turbo is going bad (mind you the turbo does nothing at idle speed). He never hooked it to a computer or checked the codes. I then had it towed back home. I ordered a PCV valve ($52 from FCP Euro) and vacuum pump gasket ($12, my suspected oil leak location). Replacing the two parts took me 3-4 hours in my garage. It has been 1 month and over 500 miles since the repair. No issues. Pretty disappointed that i spent $250 in towing, and over $500 in repairs for them to do shade tree mechanic diagnosis and repair. Also, when the car arrived back at my house the interior was filthy. The car had a tan/beige interior and the front seat and dash had oil and dirt stains all over them. DO NOT GO THERE.

I'm knocking a couple stars off from my previous review for a few reasons. Service is still good…read moreand prices are fair but I'm pretty frustrated at some of the chaos they could have helped prevent in my life! We had a big move ahead of us and I was trying to get preparations in order, including getting a hitch installed to our SUV so that we could pull a trailer for the move. I called and asked for a quote and they gave me one with or without parts in case I wanted to supply the hitch myself. I appreciated that and decided to order a hitch separately to save a little money. When I took it in for my appointment (baby with me waiting the entire time) everything went fine and I was out of there in a little over an hour. Flash forward a few days to when it's time for my husband to pick up the Uhaul trailer... they say we can't actually pick it up because we didn't have any of the necessary electrical wiring to hook up the trailer lights for brakes/hazards. Duh! Why didn't I think of that? Maybe because I'm a new mom with a baby and a big move and a lot going on. More importantly, why didn't anyone at Karch think to even ask about wiring? Who tows a trailer without hooking it up to electrical so you can use brake lights? I think I expected an establishment like theirs to be a little more helpful and at least mention it as a "hey, will you want any wiring for that?". After all, they do that with nearly every other service they provide. Pretty disappointed but the move has now been completed (after my husband had to drive over an hour one way to another place to get same day wiring done) and I am looking forward to finding a new auto shop to use instead of Karch.
