One time I came in feeling lightheaded after not eating all day, and they were kind enough to offer me snacks, which I really appreciated. That said, my most recent visit was frustrating. I waited an hour and 25 minutes past my appointment time before I was called in. That kind of wait is just not acceptable, especially when they have a strict policy about turning patients away if they arrive late. I was told at check-in that it might be up to a 30-minute wait, which I was fine with, but this went way beyond that. I had work and other responsibilities to get back to, and it felt like there was a real lack of respect for patients' time. I understand delays happen, but if they expect patients to be on time or risk losing their appointment, the same courtesy should be extended the other way around.

Walked into the clinic today with an understanding that I had a 1:30 appointment. I had spoken to…read morethe male nurse ( who is very helpful ) on Thursday's and he assured me I had the appointment for today Monday at 1:30. When I walked in to talk to the front desk lady I believe her name was Adriana she had a very rude tone to her. Maybe that's the way she talks but if she does she should not be speaking to patients and maybe working in the back instead. Also I understand they are working in the middle of a pandemic and I'm sure working with patients everyday isn't easy and can be stressful but we all choose our jobs and if you don't like it then quit. She asked what my name was and she said right away I didn't have an appointment I assured her I had spoken to the nurse a few days back she asked which nurse and I said the guy to what she responded with what guy there's several. I then told her no you only have one guy and she said we have one Male nurse ok maybe my bad for not being clear. So I said yes the male nurse is who I spoke to and I asked her could I speak to him he knows who I am. I had spoken to the Male nurse on Thursday about 5 times so he knew who I was. So when I asked to talk to him she said he's with a patient you can wait again in a rude tone. I asked if she knew how long it would be because I'm disabled and unable to sit or stand for too long. She said idk and looked away I said ok and went to sit down. I then heard the nurse talking in the back and got up to ask how much longer since I had been waiting for a while and my back and leg were starting to bother me. She once again said he was with a patient and didn't know how long it would take. I waited for a bit longer and then I choose to leave the clinic I was in too much pain and I was frustrated and angry that someone could be that rude. I tried calling the clinic to see if that way I could be transferred and she again was rude over the phone and said he was busy. I get it life is stressful at the moment but if you work with people every day then maybe you should have a better attitude. I have worked in customer service manager my whole life 20+ years and I could tell you I would have never hired her to work around people. Her demeanor towards people the way she talks that's not want you want your patients to deal with when their in pain or trying to see a Doctor. She has absolutely no people skills and can't really interact with patients. I would think people skills would be important since you have to talk to so many every day. But she doesn't have a clue how to deal with people. I've dealt with a lot of people in my life and she was just rude and unprofessional. Had no empathy for people. It's just sad that she has done this to more people other then me. I would give the clinic 4 stars because the Male nurse and my Dr are very helpful but I'm giving the 1 star to her for her horrible customer service ! I've found that she's not the only front desk person that has no people skills I've actually dealt with others within your company. Not

Review Title: Unsafe, Dismissive, and Unprofessional Disability Exam Experience…read more I recently attended a Social Security Disability consultative exam at S & L Medical Group, and the experience was extremely unprofessional, rushed, and unsafe. This was conducted by the same doctor who evaluated me in 2024, and his previous report contributed to my denial. Unfortunately, his conduct during this new exam was even more concerning. One of the most dangerous moments was when he insisted that I bend over to touch my toes, even after I clearly explained that I cannot safely do that due to the following: Complete vision loss in my right eye Charcot foot Severe balance issues from neuropathy and diabetes I told him I would lose my balance and potentially fall. Instead of modifying the exam or offering support, he repeated the instruction. For my own safety, I walked toward the counter and used one hand to stabilize myself before attempting the movement. He reacted by throwing his hands up and saying, "Ahhh, OK, just go ahead and sit down," as if I were being difficult rather than trying to prevent an injury. He also claimed that my feet "weren't swollen," even though both feet were visibly swollen, and I took photos for documentation. He barely looked before dismissing what I said. During the exam, he asked whether I had been diagnosed with bilateral carpal tunnel. When I explained my history--including that multiple doctors over the years have diagnosed me with bilateral carpal tunnel or neuropathy based on symptoms--he told me that I could not have been diagnosed without an EMG test. He insisted that the only way to diagnose carpal tunnel is through an invasive EMG, where needles are inserted into the nerves. This is not accurate, and it completely dismissed the pain and functional limitations I live with daily. What made this worse is that he contradicted himself moments later. While telling me he "couldn't report anything" about my symptoms because I supposedly wasn't diagnosed correctly, he then claimed I was giving him the wrong dates for a past condition--meaning he was looking at my medical history and did have access to my records. His statements did not align with each other, and it felt like he was looking for reasons to dismiss everything I said. The walking portion of the exam was also performed incorrectly. He stood one step away from me, giving him no room to observe my gait or the fact that I limp when I walk. The entire exam felt rushed, careless, and more like a formality than an actual medical evaluation. Throughout the appointment: He rushed every test (each lasting only a few seconds) He cut me off repeatedly when I tried to explain symptoms He dismissed important medical information He contradicted himself He made inappropriate comments unrelated to the exam He was condescending toward both my daughter and me and basically said, "If I receive your case in my office, you have fewer chances of being approved," but he will pray for me and truly hopes that everything turns out well for me, and he hopes he never has to see me again; and he laughed. This was not a fair or thorough evaluation. It did not reflect my medical reality, and it did not meet the standard of care expected for disability assessments. I left the appointment feeling unheard, unsafe, and extremely concerned that his report would once again inaccurately state that I appeared "fine," which could lead to another wrongful denial. I strongly believe this location needs oversight, accountability, and review of how disability exams are being conducted. No patient should be treated this way, especially when their health, safety, and financial stability depend on an accurate evaluation. Shame on the SSA DDS for even getting as many complaints on this group; continue to send claimants to this supposed "only disability examiner" in San Diego. This really needs to be addressed to a state representative or someone higher than that to do something about this.
