Qazi's Kitchen - Keep an eye out for this truck.

Qazi's Kitchen

This is a very welcome addition to the Rochester food truck scene. Pakistani / American fusion is a…read moregreat way to describe the food - it packs vibrant, authentic flavors into familiar formats that are tasty, filling and (importantly) easy to eat in a public, non-sit-down setting. Speaking of vibrant, the truck itself has a great design. Through my first two visits I've had: Beef Kebab Burger with fruit mint chutney: The beef on its own carries a ton of bright, herby flavor in a lean but tender patty. When paired with the mildly sweet, cool and bright chutney - plus some red onion - it hits the next level. I could eat these every day. Chicken Makhani with basmati rice: Creamy, savory and spicy with a great balance of tomato brightness and a lingering heat that complements rather than overpowers the other flavors. Seasoned Fries: I couldn't tell you if fries are an authentic thing or not but frankly, I don't care. These are the thin shoestring variety and both times have been fried to perfection. The magic is in whatever concoction of herbs and spices the fries get tossed in. There is a surprising depth of flavor here that I imagine comes from the spices partially cooking down on the fries when they're still piping hot. Every time I think I have the flavor nailed down it hits me with a new layer. The Punjabi Plate: A spin on Rochester's Garbage Plate, with a kebab burger patty, seasoned fries, a very good tangy mac salad, and a meat hot sauce that is reminiscent of the Rochester classic but with enough of a twist to separate it from the norm. As you can probably guess from the prior descriptions, this thing is on point. I'm hoping to see the truck at a lot more events in the near future, because the food is stellar.

This is a new Pakistani restaurant which just opened on 2025-07-11 along Danforth Ave. I noticed…read morethe bright sign outside so I had to come in the investigate. Since I wasn't there for a meal so I only ordered their Gulab Jamun (4 pcs, $5.99). It tasted and full of sugary goodness as expected. I also ordered a pop ($1.75). The customer service was good. The vibe is simple and clean. They can comfortably seat 18 people. There is one little table outdoors for 2 people. Another diner, who was there, was familiar with Pakistani food. She said the Garlic Naan ($3.99) is amazing. I could see it was large for $3.99! She also ordered the Chicken Jarahi (5 bone, $23.99). She said both were delicious. They also do catering. There is no free WiFi. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible, but there is no door-open button. There are separate male/female washrooms downstairs so they are not wheelchair accessible. There is paid and free neighbourhood street parking. Review 2025-143

Consistently delicious food with great prices!…read more The daal ghosht (lentils + lamb) is my favorite dish from the place. Long simmered lentils with lots of lamb for the buck and the springy refreshing taste of ginger spiked throughout! Recommended with a soft and aromatic naan which they do very well. Can't go wrong with the kebabs either, both chicken and beef seekh were great. As was the goat biryani, done Lahori style, so fragrant and flavourful!
