If you choose upgraded seating your name is on the chair. Tickets are reasonably priced and are easy to obtain. The management is special. Seems this is an organization that took an old movie and vaudeville theatre and redid it. The owner meets and greats and it is a special touch. Asks if you enjoyed the program as you leave. Nice. The seats are comfortable, and the sound system is great. They sell sodas and popcorn and other treats just like the old show would have done. Parking is not a problem, getting there from Indpls is not a problem, about 20 minutes from 465 east. Looking forward to another presentation that catches "our fancy."

There were approximately 7 other people in there while we were there. The lobby was clean and tidy. There were many signs up that indicated "card only and no cash". We were helped at the counter and picked our seats. We came back to change our seats. The same person helped with the switch. We stopped by the concessions for popcorn and snacks. Pretty uneventful just picked up some popcorn and snacks. The theatre was clean and the seats were comfy! This was my first time here so we will definitely Be retuning.

We are not always sophisticated people, but we are excellent at pretending. We started at the bar, which looks the part completely. Elegant, well stocked, the kind of bar that makes you feel like you should be wearing something nicer than what you showed up in. I ordered an old fashioned, at which point the gentleman behind the bar admitted, with full transparency, that he was not actually the bartender and would need to Google how to make it. I genuinely appreciated the honesty. In a galaxy full of people who would have just guessed and handed me something terrible, this man chose truth. I thanked him, switched my order to whiskey and coke, and we moved on as allies. From there we headed to concessions and ordered the Take it to the Greek wrap, the La Bamba pizza, and fries with little bits of steak on top. The food was good. Not life altering, not the kind of meal that makes you grab someone's arm and say nothing, just nodding, but genuinely solid movie theater food that arrived at our seats without us having to do anything except recline and wait. The seats reclined. There were actual tables. This is civilized. We watched Disclosure Day, which if you have any interest in extraterrestrial or UFO subject matter is absolutely worth your time. Sitting in a reclining leather seat watching a film about potential contact with beings from other worlds felt appropriately cinematic, even if the leather on most seats has seen better days. Chipping and worn in spots, which is the one visible crack in an otherwise well maintained experience. The theater itself was clean, the concept is fantastic, and the overall vibe delivered exactly what a day date calls for. Four stars. The bar needs an actual bartender on deck and the seats could use some attention, but Living Room Theater is still one of the better ways to spend an afternoon in Indianapolis.

We went on a Sunday and found street parking pretty easily, but then realized the theater validates parking for up to 3 hours. Such a nice perk -- wish I knew before circling around lol. We bought our tickets online ahead of time, and when we got there I ordered the garlic cheesy bread and a drink at the counter. Total was around $15. The seats were really comfy and spacious, which made the whole experience feel worth it. The food came out pretty fast. The garlic cheesy bread was probably like a 5/10 for me... not terrible, but I probably wouldn't order it again. Overall though, really nice theater and I'd definitely come back for another movie night.

I started going to this Regal a few months ago and have been checking out the summer releases…read morethrough them. It's close and convenient with ample parking. The staff are nice, with an usher at the door to greet moviegoers and scan their app. The concession stand workers are also nice and even help Crown Club holders use their points. To date, I've found every auditorium and bathroom clean and the space well taken care of. Looking forward to continuing a fun summer at the movies!

I'll just say that the service wasn't the best that they especially for it being midday. Anywho, this last time was a great. I even tried their hand breaded chicken tenders cover in Orange Gochujang sauce with a side salad. This meal makes me wanna go back to see any movie. Highly recommend trying them.

We loaded up my car with 3 adults and 2 children and got in to this quaint little drive-in for the $25 carload special. What a deal! We had packed up our favorite snacks and drinks, since most of us have food allergies and special dietary needs. So I can't speak of the concession stand. But it sounded like their fried donuts are a big hit. The people on both sides of us went back a few times for more, and their children cheered as their sweet treats were delivered. After the first movie, they announced that if anyone wanted more donuts, now was the time to get them, as they were close to running out for the evening. The rest of the drive-in seemed very well kept. I'm used to the drive-in downtown, with nothing but gravel. This drive-in only has one screen, but is much nicer. The lush grass is perfect for spreading out a blanket and sprawling out while you snack and take in a movie. My girls absolutely loved the playground that's available, and I loved that it kept them occupied while we waited for the movie to start. We didn't realize they do not want anyone on the playground once the movie starts, so we allowed them to go swing a few times with the promise to be quiet. A few other children did so a few times, and I thought it was perfect for wiggly young children who struggle with sitting still for a 2 hour movie. They never played long before running back to the car. This was also a screening of a kids' movie, so I thought it was perfectly acceptable. However, I can see the danger that it may present, being so dark. At one point, several children ended up playing there and were getting a little rowdy. An employee came hurrying thru, apologizing to everyone in their path about the children "disturbing the movie" (oopsie. My bad.) and kindly told the children that the playground was closed. They were very polite about it, and now we know better for next time. We will definitely be back. This was a really enjoyable and pocketbook friendly family experience.

The Historic Artcraft Theater, where their popcorn is INTERNATIONALLY KNOWN.:)…read moreI had a delightful evening at this well-loved theater, catching Hitchcock's classic, Dial M for Murder. The theater retains its historic charm- don't expect reclining seats with cup holders and a food menu. Or the latest blockbuster. There's some preshow shenanigans instead of previews; a raffle of prizes themed to the movie, a game for the farthest traveled attendee and schticks to go with it. That popcorn line was one of them. The national anthem is played and everyone is invited to sing along, followed by a cartoon. Movies are shown via projection so expect some skips, lines and snags. I loved the nostalgia of it! The volunteers were wonderful, welcoming me as a first time attendee, giving me a quick run through of where to find the restrooms, entrances, concessions and bar. The same volunteer also caught me after the movie to ask about my experience! The bar serves beer, wine and a short list of cocktails including a drink of the night. The popcorn is locally grown and the concession prices the lowest I've seen. Free refills are offered on all popcorn sizes! I had a great night at The Historic Artcraft Theater and look forward to more shows there.

After attending a Heartland Film Festival event here this weekend, I decided it was time for an update. The Artcraft is located directly on Main Street in downtown Franklin. It's the marquee project of Franklin Heritage, Inc., a 501c3 non-profit dedicated to historic preservation and a sublime example of how you bring an old theatre to life. The Artcraft has been on town square since 1922 and is built in an art deco style. It was originally used for Vaudeville and silent movies. It was one of the first theatres in the area to offer "cool air" and operated for 75 years until shutting down due to the growth of multiplexes. The theatre had renovations in 1936 and 1948. In 2004, Franklin Heritage purchased the building and launched a $500,000 campaign for renovation. Since my original review, seating has improved and you can definitely see some updates. The building still has a full stage and orchestra pit. Heartland works collaboratively with Artcraft at various points including its "Best of Fest" events. The traditional marquee is still present. Movies here are primarily 35mm. Accessible? Don't expect perfection. The building is over 100-years-old and it won't be made perfectly accessible. Not possible. However, it's surprisingly good and there's no question a wheelchair user can attend events and enjoy the auditorium. Heck, with assistance you can even get on the stage. There's a single-user bathroom on the main floor that is accessible. The doorways are wide enough. The second-level of the building is not accessible. The auditorium reminds me a bit of Old National with a pretty serious slant. As a wheelchair user who knew what to expect, I definitely took my wheelchair with brakes. The front row is nearly flat, however! While you might be thinking "I don't want to sit on the front row," it's actually not bad due to the orchestra pit and traditional stage. It's not like a multiplex where you're looking up at the screen. I got the chance to chat with Bob Blake - whom I believe is the President (either of Artcraft or Franklin Heritage or both?). Event prices tend to lean affordable. Concessions are the same and you have some unique stuff here like candy cigarettes XXX Root Beer on tap, Norton Farms popcorn, Pepsi products, and popcorn refills are free. They note that their popcorn is popped using coconut oil and flavacol - an option butter topping is soy-based. Volunteers are friendly and there's no doubt the Artcraft skews toward family entertainment. And yes, they do the national anthem before each event. It started during the late 1980s and has been consistent since then. It's typically led by an old timey reel of the national anthem being played. You can rent the Artcraft along with an adjacent house called the Artcraft Cottage. Oh, and the traditional marquee is still there. I've noticed that they do a lot of author events with Franklin's Wild Geese Bookshop. Kate Bowler has been here once and has an event coming up here next month on her "Joyful, Anyway" tour. And yes, they do actually have a bar area - they are strict about ID. They serve beer, wine, and limited cocktails at all evening shows (after 5pm). I really love The Artcraft. Franklin really loves the Artcraft. It's an ideal one-screen cinema for a small college town with a population just over 25,000. Nearby parking is available. There's a lot across the street (it's a county lot - follow directions) and lots of street parking. While "accessible" parking isn't necessarily plentiful, it's easy to find and drop-offs are welcomed.
