I went to an Aveda salon in Chicago for close to 10 years (such a great salon) and thought that Aveda salons would be consistent across the country...oh, goodness, no. The first Aveda salon thinned my beautiful thick hair (didn't ask first) and the second literally left my perfect level 9/10 blonde balayage locks Bozo red and patchy. The senior colorist "tried" three times to bleach (she used developer, I later learned, which, of course, will never lead to the level of tone to create a blonde balayage) my very bleach-able hair before telling me "good luck" after attempting a shadow root, as for the third, thank God. Jessy at Carbon Salon literally saved my hair before my vacation and I will be forever grateful. Jessy was an absolute professional gem throughout my hair processing; she was knowledgeable, honest, and kind. Jessy did nothing without telling me first, which is something I needed after so many failed attempts to get my hair right. After my previous Texas salon colorists wanted me to know their whole life stories, Jessy wanted to know as much about me as I wanted to about her (again, super professional). Of course, that tied into my preferences with my hair color, cut, and style. Jessy took the time to listen to me and delivered a completely polished hair style that left me crying happy tears. The other thing about Carbon Salon is that each individual working there loves their job, and it shows. I have a lot of hair and it took quite a bit of time to complete, but Jessy never once made me feel like I was inconveniencing her or slowing her down. Instead, she was insanely organized and, if the other professionals noticed a need to keep things moving with my hair journey, they volunteered to help. I walked away blown away by the kindness and professionalism of the staff, aesthetic of the salon, and above all, the results. As long as I am in Texas, I will be a client of Carbon Salon. I made an appointment with Maya at this location for a color correction. She first did a strand test to see how my hair would react. After the test we decided on a plan that would best meet my hair goals. I felt in very capable hands the entire time. Their level of excellent customer service does above and beyond. It very difficult to find good customer service in an industry that is focused on customer service and this place nailed it. I had to return because my Stylist missed a spot in my hair coloring, and I went in and the owner gladly fixed the problem. It appears if you return within the two weeks window, there is no charge. If you want your hair done right I highly recommend this business. I love the way they run their business and the customer service. However they do have a nail salon that's attached to the business and they're offering a 30% off for your first time. I did not expect the service to be so costly for a nail polish removal.

This was my 3rd time visiting my stylist at this location and it was the complete opposite of relaxing. The entire time I was there I could hear loud banging, stomping, and what sounded like a stampede, or people dribbling a ball. Despite having music and the tv on, the noise from up above overshadowed it. What was meant to be a relaxing hair appointment after a long day of work, quickly turned into an added stressor for myself and stylist. Building management should have carefully thought out the decision to place a dance studio on the top floor, directly above self care spaces. It's not fair to the stylists and their customers. The video I uploaded does not truly reflect the volume and intensity of the noise, experiencing it first hand was miserable.

For hair, I see Michelle Ramirez who ALWAYS does a wonderful color and cut. For nails I see Nu Mai when I need a mani/pedi For facials and makeup, I see Angela Hines. First, I'm from out of town and checked google maps for haircut salons in the woodlands. Annie's popped up and somehow had almost 5 stars on there. DO NOT LISTEN TO THOSE REVIEWS. Either very biased and made by regulars or made by the owner herself. There is absolutely no way this place deserves anywhere near 5 stars. Second, I call in to make an appointment for 530 pm and Annie picks up the phone. She tells me she is already booked for 530 pm but if I can make it there in 15 min (at 515 pm) she can get started and finish up her other client's hair before she finishes mine. I drive across the woodlands and get there in exactly 15 min in order TO WAIT OVER AN HOUR. She failed to tell me she was already in a 5 pm appointment and didn't have time to "start my hair cut". Third, after finally getting seated at around 620 she starts to ask me what I want with my hair. After I begin explaining, she proceeds to apologize and go work on another woman's hair for 10 MINUTES while I sit in the chair. There was another stylist there, but she insisted that she take over and finish off the other client's hair cut. Fourth, after awkwardly waiting in this chair for her to finally begin my haircut, she finally finishes up and comes back to me. At this point I'm pretty irritated due to the fact that it's 630 pm and I called in at 5 pm for an appointment at 515 pm and she's just starting on my haircut. After very specifically telling her what I want again (I've been getting the same haircut for years and it's pretty easy/generic) she tells me that she does this all the time and not to worry. After finishing the sides, which I had to correct her probably 3 times on how I wanted them, she asked what to do on the top. I tell her to shorten it and to thin it A LITTLE. She then proceeds to thin my hair like there's no tomorrow. After I ask her what she's doing, she says -that it will look better if I keep it longer and have it thinned a lot (COMPLETE OPPOSITE OF WHAT I WANTED). My hair grows back very fast so I don't like to keep it extremely long. My hair literally looked like an Afro after this haircut and I'm visibly upset saying she thinned it way too much. Annie literally GIGGLES under her breath and tries to tell me "oh it looks so good on you". I have never come close to going online and writing a poor review about a business, especially a haircut place. BY FAR THE WORST HAIRCUT IVE EVER GOTTEN. DO NOT COME TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT.
