I've been coming here for about a year, mainly because I wanted an extra activity to do between work and I have to say, I have learned a lot about my voice and how to use it properly. I used to strain my voice all the time just singing in the car but now I can sing for hours on those long road trips haha. I also train people at work in software and am required to talk quite a lot. Ashton has taught me how to effectively use my voice even if I am not singing. I used to run out of breath and my voice would be gone after a four to five hour training but now I'm breathing properly and projecting my voice with my diaphragm instead of my throat. The small details and the exercises that Ashton gives really make a large difference. I have since convinced my girlfriend to take lessons. She was hesitant at first and not very motivated to start singing lessons but now she loves it. Along with the singing lessons, Ashton also does some fun events such as Christmas shows, music videos with all the members and other fun stuff. Where do I even begin? This place deserves a trillion stars but that isn't available on yelp yet. This studio is the most amazing place I've ever had the opportunity of being a part of. This studio has completely changed my life and transformed me as an artist and a person. When I began here 5 years ago, I was just a girl who loved to write music. So much has happened since then and it is all thanks to Ashton and Studio 2628. I'm no longer that shy girl who was scared to sing, self conscious, doubtful, terrified of the stage. This studio is so much more than just vocal lessons. They specialize in artist development! I use to hide behind my guitar and mic stand. Now I know how to move on the stage and captivate the audience! We do vocal lessons, make music videos, take professional photos for marketing, make social media pages where people can hear my music. It is like Disneyland for musicians and artists. If you are serious about becoming an amazing singer this is the place for you! It is more than just a music studio and they do more than just teach you how to sing. They teach you the proper technique so that you voice can last and last and last. Studio 2628 is a diamond in the rough. I was very apprehensive about the whole thing because the lessons here were so affordable compared to other instructors in town. I drive a bit of a way to get here for my lessons but it is a small price to pay for what you learn and gain in return. Not only do you learn the proper way of singing but somehow you learn life lessons as well. Ashton tailors the lesson to each person as it works for them. He has other students but somehow makes you feel like you are his only student because of all the attention and care he gives you and it is amazing. He is not only accommodating but super patient. I often wonder how he hasn't aged a bit after having me as a student for a number of years. I am not very comfortable with singing in front of people nor taking my voice to my fullest capabilities which I didn't know existed. He pushes the envelope just enough to have me progress and is there to support me through my many many meltdowns. I need a lot of hand holding and he provides that without a single issue or annoyance. As I mentioned I wasn't ever comfortable with singing or performing in public but through the studio I have two performances under my belt and he held my hand through the whole process. I'm still nervous about the whole thing but I actually had fun doing it. I am always and forever grateful that I found such a wonderful instructor with such good heart, patience and the talent to keep me motivated. ( i get bored easily) He makes me into a better person in all aspects of life and I greatly appreciate and am humbled by the fact I was allowed to have this wonderful person grace me with his presence. If you are interested in learning how to sing or want to improve your singing at a totally affordable rate, THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO TO. I've loved singing for most of my life and even tried taking lessons with two different coaches (both quite expensive) in the past, but it wasn't until I began taking voice lessons at Studio 2628 that I noticed significant improvement. Of course, you have to do your part by practicing the way you are instructed to do so, but as long as you keep up with it you will begin to hear and feel a difference. Back in the day, I played some shows with a little band. I remember struggling to reach (at the time) high notes, and I would painfully barely reach them. No matter how much I practiced, I would just end up remaining frustrated with myself. The worst part was, the more I practiced my voice would end up cracking and it hurt. Once Ashton taught the correct way to sing and practicing his techniques, I am now able to reach notes MUCH higher than before without pain, and I can go on singing for a long time. Actually, singing longer is much more beneficial now, as it improves my tone AND IT DOESN'T HURT. Another great thing about taking lessons with Ashton is that my singing has become much more versatile. Before I had limited myself to solely rock (which I still love). Thanks to the proper technique I've now learned, I can sing songs of other genres which makes this art a lot more fun as you can play around with other styles. I have been taking lessons here for almost 3 years, and I will continue to do so until I can't anymore (hopefully that doesn't happen).
