This salon has EVERYTHING you want and need, if not even more. As a disclaimer, I have been a past employee, and this a 100% honest review. If I were to dislike this business, I would not take my time to come here and share my thoughts. Here is my personal opinion on why this salon is the absolute best. The very first thing I would like to mention, is how much this business cares about its customers, no matter if you have visited them only one time, or if you have been a regular client since 2006. The owners are very much involved in even the most trivial components of everyday activities. There is a call center that you can reach, and ask about anything that has to do with your upcoming appointment, past appointment, products, stylists, hair, services etc. The experience managers (ladies working in the call center, and front desk) are very knowledgeable and respectful, and if they do not have the answer right then and there, they will make sure to get the right info before they pass that to the client. Also, Studio BE has online booking which is an absolute life saver if you have a busy lifestyle, or if you are simply not a big fan of calling for appointments. As far as the pricing goes, I feel that Studio BE is very reasonable. Keep in mind that this salon is a high end salon, and expecting for very inexpensive services is not very realistic. However, Studio BE does understand that not everyone is willing to pay $60 for a haircut, which is why they have TONS of options. First, they do offer deals either for colors, or combination of services, which usually run for a month or so. They make sure to announce it in all of their social medias, so make sure to check those out. Also, they do offer free blowouts every once in a while. Then, they have stylist elements (from 2-7, 7 being the highest), which lead the pricing as well. Lastly, if you make any recommendations to others, you will automatically get $10 off. I live in Chicago, and not until this day have I found a high end salon, with all these amazing deals. All of the stylists are handpicked by the owner, and trained before they get on the floor. They are very straightforward, honest, and always have a very open conversation with the client when it comes to the do-ability of what the client is looking for, the period of time that it is required to get to a certain point (speaking of dying the hair), they LOVE making recommendations when they see the client is not sure what hairstyle/hair color to get, they put emphasis on the integrity of the hair and how to keep it healthy and beautiful etc. I was a sophomore student at the time when I was working for Studio BE, which meant I did not have a fortune to spend on my hair, however I was able to offer myself enough so I could keep my hair happy. Personally, I did see Miss. Kayla Zawada for my first color ever and cut, and then I saw Miss. Paulina Tena for my cuts. This goes to show that I could afford it due to options that were given to me, and that I found stylists I could trust with my hair. And this is not everything. You can actually see each stylist's work, by checking their Pinterest Boards, and see who is your perfect fit. The experience is that good, that you might find yourself go back to the salon to simply receive this type of pampering. You will step in the salon, be greeted with smiles, there is a positive vibe in each location (Old Town, Front Range Village, and Boulder), you will be given a menu where you can pick what shampoo you want your stylist to use in the wash house and if you want to add any other services, you will be offered beverages from fruit infused water to wine and chocolates, you will then enter the wash house with dimmed lighting and relaxing music, experience a 10 min massage, and then receive the service you requested. The ladies at the front desk will be always checking up on you, and see what products the stylist is using for your hair in case you will fall in love with any of those products and request to purchase it. Studio Be is a Paul Mitchell focused salon. They only use Paul Mitchell hair colors, and their other Paul Mitchell products to maintain the color and the health of your hair. However, they recently introduced Oribe to their clients as well. There is no way for you to not find the right product for your hair not just quality wise, but price wise too. After you are done with the service, you will always be reached out to make sure that the service was on point, and you are completely satisfied. There are a lot more great things I could write about Studio Be, but I purposely wanted to focus on those factors that new clients are interested in. Wont ever go anywhere else again! Fabulous salon with amazing technicians. I went to Studio Be on Tuesday because my mom bought me a gift card for my birthday earlier this month. I have to admit I was a little disappointed when I called to make the appointment a week ago and I couldn't get in right away but after my first visit I understand why they are so busy. I was also a little hesitant because I have only ever had one stylist here in town. Unfortunately she recently destroyed my hair. My Stylist at Studio Be was Ellen, she was very personable and professional, not to mention extremely talented. Right away she came up to the front of the salon to introduce herself and make sure I had a drink and some chocolate (yes they gave me chocolate) before we headed back to their color area. I loved that the salon had a separate area for color with no mirrors because I hate seeing myself with a 100 foilies sticking out of my head, its not so attractive. I knew right away that Ellen was going to do great because she asked me what I liked about my last highlight and what I didn't like about it. She actually cared what I wanted! After coloring my hair I was given this neat little menu of free wash treatments that were included with the cost of the highlight which I thought was a very nice touch. I picked the lavender stress relief treatment. and IT WAS GREAT. I got a nice little head massage and a lavender scented towel for my neck, this alone would make me go back! I also noticed that they have a entirely separate room for washing your hair. One of the things I use to hate about my last salon is that I was on display while I was being washed. The separate room really allowed me to relax. After the shampoo Ellen asked me my opinion on the cut before she got started. At this point I was feeling pretty confident in her so I told her to do what ever she wanted to. I look like a new person! She transformed me. I am in love with my cut and my highlights are beautiful. I am so impressed with the level of detail she used on my hair. After every hair service I have ever had I go home and pick though my hair to find the few strands that got missed. Not this time! I love my hair and I will be back for sure. Thanks Ellen. read more

OK, I also want to give a little background. I have been seeing Beth (the owner) for a few years now. She always does great job on my hair, she is fantastic! Before I started going here I was a client at another salon (which I will not mention), and I also colored my hair from a box a few times prior to seeing Beth. So background given I wanted to address the previous reviewer (Keri). First off, I have been told several times by different salons that color from a box that you can do yourself is very hard to change once you use it and its very bad for your hair too. Both Beth and my previous stylist told me that it is in fact "hard to lift". Also when I started looking for another salon to color my hair, studio be was the only reputable salon in town that didn't want to charge me an arm and a leg to "correct my color", just because I used a box I bought in the store. The last reviewer stated that she was told a full head of blonde highlight is out of style... I hate to say this, but unless your going to super cuts to have your hair pulled through a cap, it is out of style and this is probably why they suggested a more "subtle" highlight. That is their job as hair stylists. Beth, and the whole staff, have always gone way out of their way to make me happy and beautiful. I wouldn't let one person who thinks she can do a better job in her kitchen sink change your opinion. I would also encourage people to do their research, or just walk by the next time your in old town and see for yourself! These girls are always busy which says a lot about any business. Quick disclaimer: I think I may be addicted to getting my hair done. Is this possible? There are few thing I love more then spending a few hours in the salon being pampered and this one is the tops around here. I come from a very style conscious background. My aunt & uncle own 3 salons out in CA and almost everyone in my family works for them so needless to say I know my way around a good salon and I know what to expect. Service wise, this place has a very good approach. It seems like they were willing to go the extra mile to make sure I was comfortable. Which really stood out to me in a town full of "oh so bitchy" hair stylists. Trust me I have been treated poorly at other salons and it only made my experience at studio be better. My only little complaint is that it was difficult to get an appointment. The girls in the front room seemed a little overwhelmed with phone calls so I assume this is why. Wish I could take a 1/2 star away for this. As far as my hair goes, its exactly what I asked for. My stylist (ya Lorraine!) was so great. She did something that most stylist forget to do, LISTENED!! My color is absolutely brilliant and instead of my hair feeling damaged and dry, it feels better then when I went in. Hands down Lorraine gets 5+ stars. Another thing I feel like I should mention is that I loved the little room where they washed my hair! Not just because I got an amazing head massage and a steam towel but because it was private. I hate feeling like everyone in the salon is watching me get my hair washed so I love the concept of a private wash room. Over all I will be back for sure! I've been seeing Elizabeth at the south location for 2 years now, she is a partner stylist. I started going there because my favorite stylist moved to LA and her replacement essentially ruined my hair. I needed serious help! Elizabeth is amazing and keeps my hair healthy despite the fact that I'm prone to split ends and tend to switch between fashion colors quite often. They do sell products there but I've not noticed them pushing anything on me. At the end of my appointment she shows me what she used on my hair and doesn't say anything else about it. I will say I remember them trying to sell stuff at my first appointment but I love their products so it was an easy sell and I've been using them ever since. Also, I bought this really expensive blow dry spray which I LOVE and has lasted forever! But the nozzle broke and Elizabeth had them replace it for free. It is hard to make a last minute appointment but they will put you on a wait list and they almost always call me and can get me in. My schedule is the same year round so I usually make 3 appointments ahead of time and its usually not an issue. It is also expensive since I normally buy the scalp massage, a hair treatment, a trim and full color, and usually a product or two. But I think it's absolutely worth it and wouldn't go anywhere else. The customer service is amazing and it's an extremely relaxing experience. You get a free drink and one time when I was super hungry they even offered to bring me food. I love the Studio Be Salon in Old Town! I've been getting my hair done by Ellen for a little over 10 years and have never left an appointment feeling anything other than completely in love with my hair! She is great at listening to what I want and giving advice on how to best achieve the styles and color I am going for. I trust her with my hair 100% which is why she is the only person I would have do my hair for my wedding a few years back. My hair is long, super thick, and a crazy tangle between wavy and curls. Ellen is the first stylist I ever had that not only found cuts that worked for my hair but taught me how to maintain the style myself at home. I first became a client ten years ago after a classmate recommended her to me when I first moved here from NY. The first 2-3 years I came in strictly for haircuts and now routinely come in for a full cut, color, and highlight every time. Ellen is amazing with color and paints in all my highlights freehand. I get so many compliments on my hair color. I cannot recommend her enough!! I always look forward to my appointments at Studio Be because it feels like an experience from the moment you walk in. The staff go out of their way to make you feel pampered and the wash house room is like a mini escape to the spa. Their signature head massage when they wash your hair is my favorite. It's a beautiful salon with a lot of character and modern elements tied into the decor. After recently moving from Denver to Fort Collins, I was hesitant and nervous to find a new salon and a stylist whom I could trust and who I liked as much as my previous stylist at an Aveda salon in Denver. I scheduled my appointment with Bre and went in with an open mind to her suggestions as far as color and cut were concerned, and I'm definitely glad I did. She noticed how damaged and dry my hair was right away and offered to do a Keratin treatment during my reservation to work on getting my hair healthy again, and I am super glad I did the treatment (highly recommended for anyone, even those without damaged or dry hair - this makes your hair feel awesome and so, so healthy). After putting the color in my hair and letting it process, she took me into the wash house - one of my favorite parts of the appointment! There are steam towels and a scalp massage and relaxing music - the wash house just has an aura of relaxation that I found really rounded out the experience. After the wash house, she cut some hair, then blew out my hair and continued cutting it dry so that she could really perfect the shape. The color turned out awesome (way better than my color ever looked going to Aveda in Denver) and the service made the experience amazing. The stylists here really know what they're doing and really do want the best for your hair and for you (they will not hesitate to tell you if something is not such a great idea for your hair). How about 4.5 stars, come on Yelp! I actually have to thank my fellow Yelpers for helping me find this place. Like everyone has already mentioned I called to make an appointment and wasn't able to get in right when I wanted to. I almost decided to go elsewhere. Thus the 4.5 stars. I am very glad I didn't! This is the kinda place you go to and discover all these little extras you didn't expect. They have this whole little menu you get when you come in! It has a dozen different drinks to choose from, free treatments that come with your color, and of course things to add. I saw Shelly. She did a great job. Consulted with me and spent extra time going through magazines to find the right color. I didn't get a hair cut this time because I always like to see how salons do with color (that can be fixed if I don't like it) first. But I will be back for a hair cut for sure. I love my new color! What I thought was really cool is that Shelly told me to come back if for any reason it wasn't light enough for me or if I needed it tweaked. This is not the experience I have had in the past with other hair salons. There is no need to go back because she blew away my expectations, but if I had needed to I would have felt 100% comfortable doing so. Great experience all around. I think they may need to work a little harder at finding appointment times that work for people but it was worth the wait. read more

Thank you!!!!! I have been in Fort Collins for about a year and had yet to find a stylist that listened to me and made my hair look AMAZING! I came across Studio Be through Yelp.com and saw that Beth (amongst others) had great reviews. I called and made my appointment and counted down the days. During my "countdown" I was put on bed rest for my pregnancy. I was in and out of the hospital and kept having to switch/cancel my service with Beth. When they were willing to fit me in last minute so I had cute hair before the baby came, I knew they were something special! Kelly welcomed me at the front and knew exactly who I was...maybe from the HUGE prego belly. She got me a drink (and they have quiet the selection I might add), asked if I wanted a snack and brought me some Hershey Kisses. Top notch service and I hadn't even been there for 5 minutes. Next, I sat down with Beth and told her exactly what I wanted. She listened to every word and I just knew she knew exactly what I wanted. Beth is SO talented and was able to give me the look I have been trying to achieve for over a year. I can't thank her and her team enough for treating me wonderfully and getting me into the salon before giving birth. I feel great/pretty and that is a hard thing to achieve being THIS pregnant! Someone listened to me!! Okay, so let me share with the world how great my hair looks... I recently moved here from San Diego, CA. where I used to spend a lot more time and money then I care to admit getting my hair done. Even though I am a total Cali blonde I have been putting off the dreaded salon search since we moved to town because we have been so busy. Due to some kind of devine intervention I was walking by the studio a few weeks ago and decided to pop in and check it out. I didn't really need my hair done asap but the salon was packed with people and that's always a good sign! The salon reminded me of something from back home in San Diego. It's totally modern and hip plus the stylist all look amazing too. I ended up making an appointment for a few days later with Lauren. She did such a great job! Like I said, she listened to me and walked me through a few different options to make sure I was comfortable. My blonde turned out exactly the way I wanted it and my cut is super adorable too. My husband even noticed!! I am so glad that I didn't have to go on a salon search and suffer though bad color jobs to get what I wanted. So I am not quite sure where my last review of this salon went, so I am obliged to write another one. I will start out by saying that if I could give this place more stars I would! I have been seeing Beth and Brenna for over a year now and I really cant say enough about either of them. They are talented, detailed, friendly, sweet, and they listen to me!! As far as the studio itself goes, I love the atmosphere and the rest of the staff is wonderful. They know what it means to have customer service. They have always treated me like my business matters and that means more to me then getting a great hair cut and color. As far as my hair is concerned, its always looks amazing! This is the first salon I have ever been to where my hair feels healthier after its colored then when I came in. As a bonus my husband loves my hair so much that he doesn't complain any more when I spend money in the salon, when does that ever happen! I have to say that I look forward to getting my hair done. Not only do I look my best when I leave but I feel like I got to spend time with my gals and have fun too. I would and do recommend this place to everyone. You will leave looking and feeling great. Stephanie L. is one of the most amazing stylists I've ever had the pleasure of doing my hair. If you are reading these reviews trying to decide who to see, request Stephanie L! I myself am a published colorist and stylist and wouldn't trust anyone else in the Northern Colorado area to color or cut my hair. I'm Mexican & Native so my hair is very, very thick, nearly black, and reaches my lower back. She's done an absolutely excellent and careful job of lightening my hair to silver from the natural brown/black hair I have. She is even so precise with her cuts, I've been able to grow my hair extremely long with her once a month trims because she only takes the tiniest bit off of split ends and my hair is able to grow with constant, exact trims. She is thorough with her styling, and never leaves any of my hair even slightly damp. (Something many people will do since I have tons of hair.) The last time she did my hair took 7 hours (completely normal for what I was asking for) and she did it all with a smile and made sure it was PERFECT until the very end. I'm so lucky to have found her! She is extremely skilled with color, cuts, styling, & knows her product. You won't regret requesting her! read more

Literally, THE BEST hair salon experience I have ever had! OK so its official, I have to drive to Fort Collins for all my hair needs (only down side). Since I moved here I feel like I have been single handedly supporting most of the hairdressers in the greater northern Colorado area. Searching for the perfect color and cut. I have no idea how I missed this place. A coworker came to my rescue and suggested that I make an appointment with Beth at Studio Be. I am SO glad I did! Apparently I have been living with my head in the sand, there is a trendy salon in this area! Beth was so great and down to earth too, she immediately felt like a friend. We spent a lot of time talking about me and my hair which was so refreshing and totally put me at ease about being in a new salon. It was simple, she asked me what I was looking for, made some great suggestions, and gave me exactly what we talked about. The end result was perfect, I keep getting compliments and even my BF liked it which is not an easy task. Overall, I had wonderful service, everyone was so accommodating and I felt totally taken care of during the whole visit. I am officially hooked, already setup my next appointment! read more

5 Stars for Amanda Bartlett! (and Studio Be) I have been going to Amanda for years and will follow her wherever she goes. She listens to what I "want" which is always super vague because after all, I am not the expert here, and is always able to translate it into something wonderful! I know its hard for stylists to suggest things as the customer can be very picky and they don't want to mess it up. But for me that is what I expect, I am paying you to make me look good, I don't have a clue what will look good! I have very fine hair, a good amount of it, but very fine and she always puts just the right amount of product in, understanding more is not always better! I purchased product from her recently that I am so so happy with. We tried diff things out and she didn't push any of them on me until we finally found the perfect combo. I will go back to her for as long as possible! The atmosphere of Studio Be is always pleasant and has a "culture" to it, they make everyone feel extremely welcome. Not to mention Amanda could make a career in head rubs alone, which she doesn't skimp on in the washing process! I highly recommend giving both her and Studio Be a try. read more

First and foremost, you are paying for the experience, not a better hair cut. I have had lousy cuts for years and have yet to find a stylist I would continue going back to. I had high hopes for Studio B considering their prices and the trendy do's seen on the stylists. I went in for a 'volume' perm and walked away with spiral curls. I thought I had explained it clearly to my stylist that I wanted big wavy curls. Nevertheless; I spent over $200 on the perm and product together (with a coupon!). I made a follow-up appointment for a hair cut and was forced to wait an hour and a half until my stylist became available. They had to stay past close to finish my hair cut and check me out. I explained that I would like a cut that would help reign in the curls. I walked out $60 (Yes! just for a cut) looking a lot like a poodle because she chopped so many different layers in my hair. The salon is nice, the head massage is nice, the complimentary (?) drinks are nice, but my experience with the styling was below par for the price. Don't get me wrong, I would pay the price to get what I want, but both times I was let down. read more

This business is incredible. Until a couple of weeks ago, I had boycotted salons due to a negative experience; then I spoke with Emma. Emma was diligent, committed and kind in pairing me up with the right stylist for me and my needs in a non-judgmental, understanding and compassionate way. Kortney was (and will continue to be) my stylist. She adapted kindly to my (difficult to work with) hair and provided me a service that was well above and beyond what my previous perception of salon culture was. Damian washed and styled my hair; yet again, an incredible experience full of depth, genuine connection, inviting atmosphere and warmth. From the moment I walked into Studio Be, to the moment I left-I felt warm, welcomed, pampered and valued. The values of this business are very much alive and breathing through the ability the owners have in expressing their vision through the stylists, receptionists and assistants. This is for the South location. Shannon, was the stylist VERY nice and polite. The business is very chic and welcoming, but I now have a very embarrassing haircut in spite of the fact I had detailed photos. I now have hair 1/4 inch long from 3 inches. I wanted a specific cut/style and got a "butch" cut that embarrasses me! I don't know how it goes from five Detailed photos all views given to COPY From i. e., exact as it was to a completely different style not even remotely close to what I specified. I paid $35 plus product for this terrible cut. A+ for professional demeanor. They really push products. Be prepared to be pushed expensive products! The front desk girl, needs to be retrained or something. I asked for a specific stylist and was told she had NO openings until February. This was NOT true. I checked on line after the bad cut and found multiple available appointments on their website "book on line feature." As others have already said, I didnt expect to find a high end salon in the Fort. In my humble opinion this one has raised the bar for hair salons in this town. I went looking for a new stylist last week after the so called "master stylist" at another salon did a number on my hair. I made an appointment with Carry because the receptionist said she was great with red heads and she did not disappoint. I could tell right away that she knew what she was doing and I love the colors she chose to highlight my natural hair. Coming back for a cut in a couple of weeks and Im actually excited to see what she comes up with. As a whole the salon was a little intimidating at first, most of the stylists look like they belong on a runway not cutting hair. After talking with the girl behind the counter a little about what to expect, I felt more at home and Carry quickly made me feel like a part of the crew. The atmosphere was good, and it seemed like everyone their was having fun. I especially enjoyed the little shampoo room and the massage, almost feel asleep. A+ for Carry and Studio Be! read more

Ok, so let me start out by saying that I only signed up for a yelp account so I could write this one review! Here is the background, I recently had a bad experience at another so called "high end" salon here in Fort Collins, so I set out to find a new salon. In looking for the perfect salon I did a web search and came across this site (my first time)! When I saw that Studio Be had so many great reviews I made an appointment to have my hair cut and highlighted. Let me just say they definitely live up to the 5 star reputation! I was able to get in to see Beth (the owner) because she had a cancellation. She was great and she did an amazing job! I can not say enough good things about her and her salon. On top of my fantastic hair I was treated like a celebrity from the moment I walked in the door. In fact the only experience I have had that even comes close is when I got my hair cut at a very upscale salon in Vegas and I paid $200 for it.
