I was rushed in and out of the Greenwich location like I was a last-minute add-on, not a bride days away from walking down the aisle. I was assured that the tan would be flawless and a light, natural glow -- exactly what I asked for. What I got was the exact opposite: a streaky, orange mess that looked anything but bridal. The spray tan artist told me she had "four years of experience" and that I'd be thrilled with the result -- right before hurrying me out to get to her next appointment. My knuckles and hands? Burnt orange. I spent hours scrubbing them in a panic, trying not to look like an Oompa Loompa in my wedding photos. I had to literally use a Brillo pad & dish soap The tan was patchy, uneven, and frankly, awful. Thank God for my gown being long sleeves -- but even with that, I still looked orange underneath and mg dress was entirely backless. I've had better results from a Mystic booth unfortunately To be fair, I do have friends who've had good experiences at GLOW -- so maybe this was more about the individual technician and the fact she was clearly rushing or didn't see the concern in this being my bridal spray tan, But the reality is, getting a bad spray tan two days before your wedding should have been taken more seriously. My left knee was not tanned at all, my forearm looked like an abstract art project. While the color was great, it was a very inconsistent tan. I would've been better off self-tanning at home.

I paid over $1000 for my hair to look horrible. The reason I am smiling in these photos is because I was so relieved to get out of the salon chair I was forced to sit in for over 6 hours. I attend college at Iona University, but am originally from Southern California, so I was desperate to find a salon to take care of me and my extension needs while away from home. I went in for a simple extension bump up, and was told I needed to purchase completely new hair through Moxie, and endure their specific installation process. When the hair finally arrived (weeks after it was supposed to), it was the wrong color. The stylists at Moxie attempted to highlight my light brown hair to match the blonde extensions- an effort at which they unfortunately failed, as you can see in the images I have attached. The hair itself was not only the wrong color, but had the consistency and texture of hay. It was falling out the second it was attached to my head. I was only able to go 2 weeks with these extensions in my head before the hair became so matted and disgusting that I had to fly back home to California to get my hair fixed by another salon, for a significantly reduced price, might I add. I urge anyone considering getting their color or extensions done by Moxie, Scarsdale to run in the other direction, so as to avoid completely wasting your time and money and risking your hair turning out awfully.

I had a membership and went every week for a blow out. Currently, there is no manager, no owner ever visits the salon, and many of the stylists have been let go. Some of the stylists are clearly learning on the job and are not yet competent in their work. ( There are some that work very hard and are skilled. which is why I kept going for while.) Because there is no front desk manager, the stylists have to stop work on a client to answer the phone, make appointments and take payment. Last week I showed up for a confirmed appointment, there was only one person in the salon and she was about to start on another client. I told her I had made an appointment. She told me that she "could not access the schedule" on the computer and had taken another client. I showed her the confirmation text on my phone and she said that the making an appointment online was "a problem" and she could not do my hair. I left the salon and cancelled my membership.
